Status Update Falon II

Up to 45k - on Falon II - The Painting - and still plugging right along. Had a 5k day yesterday or rather a 4.8k (Lol - the wife sent me to bed with the kids ahahahaha so I couldn’t round it off) but other than that been steadily churning out 2k a day. Its not as fast as I might like but on the other hand I’m on pace for for the end of Feb 1st draft that I’m looking for.

Still no word on the brother’s editing status for Akantha II. Its frustrating but I just have to keep reminding myself that the Spineward Sectors are not the center of the universe. Only the center of ‘my’ universe hahahhahahhahaha!

So its all good, even if not quite running at an ideal pace. However I’m still excited to get my hands on the Sword of Friendship book and see what my brother’s been up to.

Other than all this not too much to report. Steady Eddy. If I think of something I’ll add it as a comment.

Ashes for Ashes, Blood for Blood

Staggered across the finish line last night and the 1st draft of Akantha II has just been turned over to the brother.

It came in at an initial size of 73,510 words which makes Ashes for Ashes, Blood for Blood, roughly twice the size of Eyes of Ice, Heart of Fire the previous Akantha novella and so while Akantha II is only about half the size of a mainline Admiral book, it is now the size of most other author’s full size novels.

Admiral Lady and other Updates

Well twelve days into this thing and Revenge is up to over a thousand sales and some pretty positive reviews. Thank you everyone who has purchased a book and special thanks to everyone who’s had time to fire off a review. At 540 pages its both the largest book to date and I like to think one of the best in the series. Sales so far seem to back that up, we’ll see what the final month end tally is!

In other news I’m currently working on a novella-novel (not sure the exact size) that takes place at the same time as Trial-Revenge, following what happened to Akantha while Jason was locked away in durance vile and then leading up to the point where Akantha waltzes back on scene at the end of Revenge.

Tentatively titled: Admiral’s Lady: Ashes for Ashes, Blood for Blood

The plan is to tell the tale of what happened when Akantha decided to share some of her pain with the betrayers back on Capria who helped engineer their terrible losses during the assualt on the Omicron. It seems she has a name for her pain and it is King James and his bickering Parliament. You’ll be able to find out what happened as soon as I’m done writing it.

In other news, we weathered the Typhoon just fine, and the relatives over on Leyte (the island that took the brunt of Yolanda/Haiyan) were weeping with gratitude when we managed to send food and money over to palompan leyte. Their little tin roofed rickety wooden houses had been blown away with the storm and a new born baby (born before the storm) was in the hospital, fortunately the cousin we sent over with the supplies (stuff not only from us but from some of the wife’s relatives who’d already immagrated to the states) also had his christmas bonus and was able to pay for the baby’s hospital visit.

We have been very blessed that our island was barely effected during the height of the storm.

Getting ready for the Super Typhoon

Hey guys just an FYI I may be incommunicado for a while as there’s a Super Typhoon about to slam into Cebu. Its already hit Leyte and some of the pinoy relatives have already lost their houses according to cell phone calls.

So the philippines may lose power, water, internet, etc. So if I don’t respond to anything for a while, its not because I’ve lost the love for my fans.

On an interesting note they say the winds should get to 150 miles per hour, or 200+ kilometers per hour.

I’ll report back with more info on the reality of going through a Super Typhoon when I get back. All I can report right now is some moderate winds (nothing to get excited about all on their own) and a wife who is frantically running around putting all her stuff into plastic tubs and our airline suitcases. heheehheheh!

Admiral’s Revenge is Live

First off, in case you missed it in any one of the half a dozen places I’ve been shouting about it (grin) Admiral’s Revenge is up on amazon and available for sale.

Every time I put a book up on amazon for sale is a similar experience. I’m thrilled, I’m excited, I’m a little worried and that first day or so I’m holding my breath to see what happens. With the first book it took quite some time before sales took off. With the rest of these, meaning ever since you guys sat up and took notice of my books, the outpouring of support has been overwhelming. I never really thought I’d get to the point where I had 6 full fledged novels under my belt and be able to call myself a real author but here I am, here we are and I have to say its a pretty mind boggling experience. Wonderful but mind boggling.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. If you’d asked me two years ago that today I’d be a working author with 6 novels, two novellas and a pack of ravening fans (another grin) eager to read my latest and greatest sci-fi book, I’d have laughed in your face. But here we are.

I couldn’t have done it without you guys.

BTW - Sales are up to 46 Revenge books sold in the 6 hours or so since it went live!

Admiral’s Revenge Uploaded!

FYI guys: I just uploaded Admiral’s Revenge onto Kindle Direct Publishing! Look for the book to be available for sale in about twelve hours. It should be up this evening for your viewing pleasure. I hope you all enjoy it!

I know its been a bit of a wait but its also the biggest book to date, coming in at 174k with my second biggest book being Admiral’s Gambit at 140k’ish. So take a look, have a read and if you can put up a review and let me know what you think!!! Inquiring authorial minds want to know.

Beta Reader Applications Officially Closed

Yep this is it people. We’ve approved all the new beta readers we going to at this point because its time for… you guessed it! Its time to perform the final and last round of edits taking into account all of your comments so that we can get this beast out the door.

Thank you all for your help and support on this road to Revenge. And thanks also for helping out with the new publishing website.

Soft Launch of the Editing/Beta website

Okay guys here is the link to the website :www.pacificcrestpublishing.com

On it you will sign up and then be able to see the book in need of editing. In this case, Admiral’s Revenge! Not everything on the website is working yet and I think my brother broke the book up into 5 parts. So sign up for all the sections of the book (in the website) and in the next day or so my brother will approve you to start in on it. I’m not sure if he’s planning to just give everyone who applied access to everything or approve the book section by section.

What I do know is that not everything is up and running on the website just yet so if there are any troubles let me know as a reply to this post right here. I’m’ not sure if there’s even a report an error function on the site yet. Its all going to be up and running before too terribly long (fingers crossed) but the book is up over there and this time we could ‘both’ use your help.

If you want to wait until the site is better up and running that’s just fine too, just remember that this is still a work in progress if you do sign up (like I hope you will!).

If I missed anything I’m sure my brother will reply to this post and clarify.
