Falon Name Change
Okay up date time. Gotten good feedback thus far, and will work a few tweaks in the next few days before releasing the prequel novella and novel, hopefully, sometime next week.
Also the new names for the two are:
The Boar Knife - Rise of the Witch Guard (prequel novella)
The Blooding - Rise of the Witch Guard (Book 1)
So deadline fast approaching until that book is out there! Have a good one guys! (as mentioned before lost the blog email files with everything in them from may 20th so if you applied for beta before but haven’t received the file yet its because your e-mail was lost and needs resent)

Falon Update - Beta Readers
Well guys the brother’s a well over half way done on the first pass of the Falon edit and I’m still on the new laptop. This means that I’m still recovering all my passwords. Hopefully by monday, if not sooner, I will be able to get into the blog e-mail.
Regardless of this fact I’m getting ready to start assembling beta readers who feel interested in helping to beta read my Falon Half Blood fantasy novel. Well… Novel and Prequel.
You see during his first pass of the 180k or there abouts of material I’ve written so far, the Brother decided the best thing to do was to split the thing into a 40k prequel with the rest, including the new revised and extended ending I’ve written to make up book 1. Depending on exactly where we make the cut off between books 1 and what will eventually be book 2 (book 2 won’t be written until at least after Revenge is completed), book 1 should be between 120-140k. Or about the same size as an Admiral book.
The main reason for splitting this thing is that the pre-quel reads a little slower than what will be Book 1. It seems it just isn’t quite as popping a place to start a series from.
So to start anyone who wants to help with beta’ing the novella just use the same [Sign Up/Report and Error] button on the blog as before and drop me a line. I don’t promise to accept everyone and I do understand that a new fantasy novel isn’t every sci-fi lover’s cup of tea so if you’re not interested no sweat. We had over 30 beta readers for Admiral’s Trial and most of you guys were a really great help. We only had a few duds.
Pretty much we’re looking for with Falon is the same thing.
1) Help us with what you liked, what you didn’t, plus any typos, misspelling, grammar/comma errors, and any story or plot holes you’ve spotted along the way. I know there were a few of those in there from the Bar people, don’t know if we got them all cleaned up or not.

2) A review up on amazon
Preferably we’d like help with both but either one of them helps us make the books and series better as we go along.
Obviously if you don’t respond to us with comments on how to make these early drafts better and at the same time can’t be bothered to put up a review for us that’s not trying to be a beta reader. That’s just bumming a free e-arc. Fortunately we hasn’t been much of an issue yet because we’ve got a great community here.
So lets keep that going and help us all make this book be all it can be!
You guys are the best and I appreciate all your help and support. Just let me know if you’d like to take a crack at the prequel and Book 1 when its ready too!

Falon Half Blood Update
The brother is about 20% done with the initial first pass edit, although I understand he has a few other things to work on right at the moment, so it’ll be a few days before he can get back to it.
I’ve just finished revamping the ending and decided that whatever its called the book needs at least one more chapter after the epilogue to round everything off. So in addition to adding roughly 4k of new content today in a revised and expanded ending, I also plan to keep pounding away until I’ve got another chapter.
Now as soon as that chapter is written I’m going to switch over to Revenge until the brother is ready for me to show up and edit.
In other news cabe says we’ve got some kick-ass new art. Including more revised Falon cover ideas (they still need work though is the impression), but mostly focused on some brand new Marine Bugs art. Staying true to the cannon sounds like the usual challenge, although since my books tend to leave more up to the imagination of the reader than most that’s not as big an issue as it could be. However anywhich way I am assured they’re starting to look real cool.
In other news, I originally came to this country with 3 dell laptops. Now they were used but I worked on one of them in the usa for about 6 months. At this point I’m down to one laptop (the one I was originally using in the usa) and one was been junked. The third and final is undergoing surgery in the laptop repair place right now. It had a virus, things were going slower and slower, lots of stop this script warnings so I took it in to have the OS reinstalled. Sadly immediately upon reinstall they got a blue screen. So its time for diagnosis and they told me to come back again tomorrow to check on it or they’d just text me. Not fun but what can you do? Its 220 power over here and they often have brown outs and the accompanying power surges. But with me down to one laptop, I am both amazed at how fast I can load things again and disheartened at the realization that I’m going to need to purchase a brand new computer before too terribly much longer.
With import duty fees on electronics over here that means 400-500 bucks just for a basic laptop.
Anyway its probably about time to upgrade from my free enterprise version of word, so if I have to get a new computer I am planning to pick up the latest and greatest (probably one year old) version of word if I have to buy a new laptop…. unless of course we’re scraping the last few dollars out of my pocket as it is. Then no promises.
Anyway guys hang tight, without my kindle for pc on my laptop I’m back to producing higher word counts. This should happen before too long!

In other news I completed the first draft of Falon Half Blood. However it needs a revamp of the ending. So that’s what I’m going to be working on right now today and however many days I can stay focused on it… Admiral’s Revenge is calling to me!
Between the call and my being sick its been hard to get going back on the fantasy book. But I’ll get it done and then won’t have to worry about it again until the brother calls me over for editing!

Update
Well here I am not even really sure why I’m writing this as I don’t have too much to report.
The Falon book keeps expanding and its been a chore to stay focused on it. The original goal was to cut off at 90k and at 158k and still climbing its clear that was an unrealistic expectation. I’ve been putt putting along at 1-3k per day. Determined to finish the book I charged hard two days ago writing until 2am, but alas 12k in one day wasn’t enough to push me over the finish line. Hopefully this thing will wrap up soon. I’m in the middle of the epic battle right before the epilogue, so who knows? All I can say is I haven’t been able to stay focused on 5k a day production since the admiral books came out.
In other news I do have Admiral’s Revenge all plotted out (if not yet written) as well as two potential covers for it! I like it as good as the new Gambit cover, it sure is something to see guys! If only there was a way I could put up the image on the blog. Too bad….
Anyway not sure its going to be possible to split this Falon draft into two separate books once I’m finished but jeeze is it getting close word count wise.

Admiral’s Trial Update
We’ve done it again guys! And none of it would have been possible without you.
Admiral’s Trial is selling like hot cakes lately and so far its on just about the same scale as Tribulation. Trial sales so far this month are up to 877 and that’s not bad. So far for book 3: Admiral’s Tribulation the grand total sold since it came out has been 2400. Factor in something around a 10% drop rate for books that get kicked down to the 35% royalty rate for rounding errors that drop your world wide sales down under that magic 2.99 = 70% number and you can do that math for the rest!
Anyway its been really cool to be on this journey with you guys and with sales like these I actually have some hard numbers to go along with the ‘hope’ that’s been mainly carrying this dream of becoming a full time writer.
What more can I say, I couldn’t do it without you guy. Thanks for being the wonderful fans that you are. Every sale but more importantly every review that you guys have done has helped to make these books and this series what it is today.
A special thanks goes out to all the people who applied for and got in to become a Beta reader before the cut off. The feed back we’ve received has been critical.
Some updates, I’m up to 102k on the Falon fantasy. Going to try to push it over the finish line in the next couple days. I have to admit to a bit more slacking than usual. Its been a struggle to put up more than 2-3k a day lately. However both boys and the wife are just back in school this week and I am determined to get back on task.
Priorities as envisioned right this moment are -
1) Complete the Falon Fantasy
2) Complete the Spalding pre-quel short story and then review the compiled Spalding/Jason shorts that are going to make up the next novella, so that we can get busy editing and put it up on amazon. (As far as the Spalding short goes the only hint I can give you is…. ‘Long Live the Automated Underground!!!’)
3) Get busy tearing away on Revenge! Book 5 won’t write itself don’t you know.
