mortem-et-necromantia:

Raganų Kalnas

The Hill of Witches is an outdoor sculpture gallery near Juodkrantė, Lithuania.

It is located on a forested sand dune about 0.5 kilometer west of the Curonian Lagoon, on the Lithuanian Seaside Cycle Route. Begun in 1979,
it has been expanded several times, and now contains about 80 wooden
sculptures along a series of trails. The artists drew on a long
tradition of woodcarving in Samogitia, and on the equally long tradition
of Midsummer Night’s Eve (Joninės) celebrations
on the hill. The pieces depict characters from Lithuanian folklore and
pagan traditions. Magical forest full of Devils and Witches carved in
wood.

Woodcarving symposia are held at the park on a regular basis, and new works are added.

Want amazing short stories for as little as $1 a month? My homegirl Livia Llewellyn is starting a new writing venture on Patreon and I am very proud to be supporting her. If you’re familiar with her work then you know how incredible it is, but if you aren’t, I can personally guarantee that you won’t be disappointed. If you like it dark and hot, please consider chipping in.

"WAS THE GIVING TREE A CHUMP?" is a little something I wrote about Shel Silverstein’s controversial children’s book, and it’s now up at Off the Shelf. You can check it out here.
