I Crashed Into A Unicorn

A Novella

 By Kasie Jeon

One high school girl.

One unicorn prince.

One car crash.

All Bailey Kim wants is to wrap up her junior year with as few incidents as possible. She has almost made it through a year at a new school peacefully by keeping a low profile. She likes having her small circle of friends and not getting caught up in drama. Her entire focus is making it to summer vacation when she will be able to relax for a few months before tackling senior year.

The universe has different plans.

What should have been a routine drive home from her job ends up morphing into the catalyst for a chain of strange events. Events that will definitely ruin Bailey’s hopes of having a quiet end of school year. She is stuck with one distrusting unicorn prince, Yujin, who refuses to leave and claims to be powerless because of her. Hiding a person’s presence in her home, especially a male presence, from her mother’s notice will become another challenge she must deal with on top of school.

As Bailey and Yujin forge a wary alliance, a bounty hunting duo known for their ruthlessness appear. The bounty hunters, Ophelia and Laertes, intend to establish a black market of talismans they have violently procured from all magical creatures except one. The unicorn. And while hiding Yujin’s presence from her mother is difficult, hiding him from two highly skilled bounty hunters is impossible.

Not one to believe anything in the occult, Bailey has a hard time accepting that her life has been drastically upended. Until she becomes the source of a dormant power of her own. One that might help her get through the chaos and give her a fighting a chance at normalcy again.

Journey To Osm – The Blue Unicorn’s Tale Reader Review by Valerie

Journey To Osm – The Blue Unicorn’s Tale
 Reader Review by Valerie

This was a magical tale. The author was able to transport me to a new realm and I fell in love. There is a great deal of detail in this story that fully let’s you imagine this other world vividly in your mind. I often felt like I was watching a movie while I was reading. I also loved the underdog tones throughout the book. Everyone wants to rally behind a hero that nobody believes in and thinks will fail. I often found myself reading late into the night, just to see what would unfold next and how everything was going to play out. In the end I was very satisfied and thrilled to have read the story. I feel the author did a marvelous job with character development and storyline. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Pump Up Your Book Blog Tour – A Burdened Novel by Felisha Antonette

A BURDENED NOVEL Series by Felisha Antonette, YA Paranormal Romance

FOUR TIMES BROKEN (A Burdened Novel – Book 1)

When Tracey’s life spirals out of control, who will help her pick up the pieces?Tracey Warren’s last year of high school is mapped out: stay focused,

graduate in a few months, and get the hell out of Bennington, Virginia.

The finish line is in plain sight and everything is going according to

plan. Until a car accident sends her plans spiraling out of control.

After a chance encounter with a diabolically handsome stranger, she

is left with questions that only Nathan Newcomb can give her the answers

to. But being around him makes her head spin and being away from him

makes an unbearable pain consume her.

There is only one cure, and being the girl mated to a Burdened

Sephlem won’t be an easy road. It will be destined for chaos, but

Nathan’s magnetism draws Tracey in, and she can’t resist him. Once they

are bonded, danger lurks around every darkened corner, and the greatest

one may be coursing through the bloodlines running through Nathan’s

veins.

Can their love survive or will their burdened souls surrender and fade away?

THREE TIMES TORN (A Burdened Novel – Book 2)

Tracey’s fun and free life has taken a nefarious turn. Since

releasing her heart to Nathan, the repercussions for choosing to love a

Burdened Sephlem have been deadly, daunting, and more dangerous than she ever predicted.

If life only allowed her a moment to breathe, to break away from her

tainted father and chaotic friend, the injurious bonding may be easier.

But there are sentiments rushing through her veins that is twisting her

through a whirlwind of bliss and chaos. And a breath of fresh air only

resides in one place. . . Until he’s changed. . .

Someone who lives to destroy Tracey’s mate, Nathan, has the perfect

concoction for tragedy and Tracey is his primary ingredient. Influenced

by the sinister intentions of Roehl, Nathan’s half-brother, Tracey’s

outlook on her bond has faltered. She will be required to choose again,

and all signs point in the wrong direction; for her and her friend.

We’ve made it onto Lunis’ radar. A full-blooded Sephlem who’s driven

by torturing others. He claims he’s owed a debt and Nathan will do

anything to protect his family from him. He’ll put his life on the line

if needed, and Lunis guarantees he will take it. This threat seems far

more likely to succeed when we invade his guardhouse to rescue Olar.

Can bonds tied to the soul be broken, or will a Burdened Sephlem have to bare his soul to keep his mate?

TWO TIMES SLAIN (A Burdened Novel Book 3)

Loyalty, deception, honesty, and death. These factors in Tracey’s life have taken her from an innocent

teenager to a strong-minded young adult when she took the leap that no

human or Sephlem would dare to. And while none of the promised perils

have materialized, her strength has yet to be tested. Now, the secrets

behind the midnight eyes of her mate have started to come to light, and

this unbalanced truth affects her, her parents, and what’s left of her

friends.

When her mate’s mother gets abducted and everyone leaves to find her,

Tracey’s left to fend for herself. She finds peace in finally being

alone without the bond of her mate overwhelming her and revels in a

freedom that she has tried to obtain since mating. But it is short

lived. She wakes, bound and blindfolded, awaiting a torturous greeting

from an unlikely foe… Someone who has an appetite for vengeance.

The Burdened has rule over Nathan and his life. The more he fights

it, it prevails. But rescuing his mate and his mother is a dead cert,

and Nathan will destroy anything and anyone who stands in his way.

A prophecy has set the fate of Nathan and Tracey’s relationship and

the Sephlem race—their union more significant than either realizes. As

the future unfolds and their love is tested, will it endure the deepest

pain of their loss?

Love has found its match.

I flick my

enamored gaze back onto the black-and-white tiles, cheeks on fire. Crap!

He probably thinks I’m like the floozies from earlier, stupefied by a cute

smile and well-lined beard.
And to make it

worse, he cackles, head falling forward, having a few strands of his hair fall

onto his forehead.
I snort, hating

I’ve become his amusement today.
There’s

cautiousness in his movement when he drags his hands from his pockets and

approaches me. “Let me help you,” he drones. His reach is precarious, but when

he latches onto my waist, his grasp is steady. I’m ambushed by a plethora of

sensations from the contact; my heart stutters and my breaths rush from my lungs

as he lifts me off the bed.
“Thanks,” I

mutter, meeting his eyes. Which, is something I’ve been trying to avoid since I

had passed out.
They take me

in, and the hazel-brown swirls. I stare in awe as liquid emerald blends with

milk chocolate.
He blinks and

backs away, releasing his hold. I didn’t notice how aware I was of his hands

being on me until they fall away, an immersing sense of comfort and warmth

going with them.
“Let’s go. It’s

getting late; you need to get home.” His rigid, deepened voice differs from the

discerning one he used only moments ago.
“Um,” I mumble.
He lifts his

gaze and looks past my shoulder toward the doorway, eyes brown again.
My eyes narrow

and I point to his face. “That’s different.”
“I know,” he

says. “It’s also a pain in my ass.” He sweeps his hand toward the door.
Not wanting to

pry, I shrug and walk out of the room.
“Hi, Mrs.

Waturstrom,” I greet the woman behind the nurse’s desk. “I’m a little better,

but my head still hurts. May I have something for my headache that’ll tide me

over until I get home, please?”
“Of course,

Tracey. Nice to see you’re okay. I’ll give you a Tylenol for your pain and a

bottle of water. Wait there a moment,” she adds, turning away to her cabinet of

pain-relieving goodies. Our school nurse is a nice little lady whose smooth

skin and perfect posture is a compliment to her age. She says it is because her

late husband kept her young. He passed away a year or so ago, and it’s

noticeable his passing broke her heart. She lost the spring in her step. Now, she’s

the basic happy nurse, keeping a smile on and speaking with a slight hint of

excitement but it’s not from her heart. If it weren’t for the small,

tear-shaped scar under her right eye, she’d be flawless for her age.
I rest against

the counter. “Thank you.”
“Now, Tracey.

I’m not trying to meddle, but sometimes I can’t help myself.” Mrs. Waturstrom

examines the label of a pill bottle and continues, “Are you two dating?”
My eyes bulge.

I hurry to sober them, knowing he can see my expression with him only being a

foot away. “No, ma’am. I don’t even know him,” I hurry to say, wanting to clear

up any confusion. “There was an accident.”
“Oh!” she gasps as if my denial of our

involvement is unbelievable. “I’m sorry, dear. I thought, well, with the way he

carried you in here and his concern over you being well. That boy even fell

asleep in that hard chair, waiting for you to wake up.”

Unicorn Book Feature – Unicorn Rescue by Keith Robinson

Sybrina’s Unicorn Book Pick

Islands of Fog Legacies #1

Unicorn Rescue

 By Keith Robinson

If you could transform into a creature of myth and legend . . . what would you choose?

This is the dilemma facing 12-year-old Travis on his first day as a shapeshifter. He’s ready to use his new ability to go on missions like his famous parents, to save people from menace and danger, to be a hero just like them. And since it’s against the rules to be a dragon, his next best option is a wyvern.

When hunters cross into his world and snatch a harmless unicorn, Travis is quick to transform and fly into action. Perhaps too quick. Who could have known he’d stumble across an illegal private zoo filled with exotic creatures, run by a man with a witch at his side?

So begins the first in a series set in the ISLAND OF FOG universe but with a new generation of characters. Each book is a self-contained story following the adventures of Travis and his friends—a magical fantasy with shapeshifters and creatures from myth and legend. Good, clean, sometimes scary fun for young readers and suitable for adults too.

Journey To Osm – The Blue Unicorn’s Tale Reader Review by Aliva D.

Journey To Osm – The Blue Unicorn’s Tale
 Reader Review by Aliva DalRae

There should be more books about unicorns!Journey to Osm: The Blue Unicorn’s Tale is an exciting fantasy about a small herd of unicorns who are facing extinction due to the machinations of an evil Sorcerer. Magh is determined to steal the horns and hooves of all unicorns in order to possess their magic. Their only hope for survival lies in the prophesy that foretells of a blue unicorn who will rescue them. Unfortunately for the Metal-Horned Unicorns, the blue foal is born without a metal horn or metal hooves, which means he has no magic. Blue grows up as an outsider, scoffed by his fellow unicorns but determined to someday prove himself. When that time comes, he sets off on a journey of Tolkien proportions, full of challenges and dangers that must be met, or his herd will be doomed.

This story was full of unique magics and harrowing heroism that is sure to warm to the hearts of young readers and even those of us with a few more miles behind us. If you like YA fantasy, you will definitely enjoy Journey to Osm.

Penny White and the

Cult of Unicorns

 By Chrys Cymri

Raven’s ears flicked. ‘Dragons aren’t known for their patience.’

‘More is the pity,’ said the unicorn. ‘Father Penny and I were about to amicably settle our differences. A dragon invading our home vastly complicates matters.’

Five months ago my life was changed forever when I learned about Lloegyr, the sister nation to England on the magical parallel world of Daear. Thrilling rides on Raven, a darkly beautiful search dragon, break up the monotony of my life as the priest of a small village church. Nor are things dull at home, not with a sarcastic gryphon, a snail shark, and my younger brother all sharing my living space. And then there’s Peter, the almost too perfect police inspector who enjoys Doctor Who and single malt whisky as much as I do.

But Lloegyr is facing its own struggles. As various races such as dragons, gryphons, elves, vampires, and harpies flood to the rapidly growing cities, they all trust the unicorns to act as peace makers. But dead humans are turning up in the city of Northampton, with wounds which only a long spiral horn could have made…

‘A compelling and witty sequel to Temptation of Dragons! Penny is a fantastic heroine because she doesn’t think of herself as such. …Chrys Cymri perfectly captures this blend of humor, honesty, reality, and fantasy.’ ★★★★★  Readers’ Favorite

‘Author Chrys Cymri delivers a first-rate humorous read.’ ★★★★1/2 InD’tale Magazine

Journey To Osm – The Blue Unicorn’s Tale Reader Review by Amber C.

Journey To Osm – The Blue Unicorn’s Tale
 Reader Review by Amber C.

This is a very imaginative book. I found the world and the characters to be both interesting and diverse. I certainly haven’t read anything like it before. This is a clean book, suitable for children and adults. It does contain non-graphic violence.

I think that the number one thing I didn’t like about this book was all the head hopping, especially where I suddenly found myself in a minor character’s head. I would have enjoyed the book much better if the point of view change had been limited to just major characters and only in a separate scene from the last point of view. As it was, I had a hard time keeping up with the jumps.

The other issue I had was that there were a few things that were a little too far fetched for my tastes. I know that anything with unicorns is something that you need to suspend your disbelief in any case, but there were a couple things that didn’t work for me. The biggest one had to do with a major revelation near the end. After that, I found myself rereading the first chapter because parts of it didn’t make sense, especially given the pov in the beginning. After referencing the beginning, I still didn’t feel like the beginning and end fit together.

But overall, this was a pretty good story that I would recommend to anyone that’s interested and I don’t regret reading.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. My opinions are my own.

Sybrina’s Blue Unicorn Book Store – I Have A Mission

Unicorn Books By Hundreds of Authors

I Have A Mission.

It is to help unicorn book lovers of all ages find their next favorite unicorn read.

To facilitate that , I have created an online bookstore featuring unicorn books by hundreds of authors for unicorn readers of all ages. While there are literally hundreds of unicorn book authors out in the authorsphere, very few of their books are ever discovered by the reading community. With nearly 5,000 new books being offered to the public day for sale each and every day, just in the United States alone, there is just too much competition for most books to ever be discovered in typical online searches. But I have found a way for unicorn authors, at least, to overcome the typical hurdles of book discovery. Over the past couple of years, I spent countless hours searching for unicorn books of every type on every reading list and book sales site that I could find. I was highly motivated by a personal mission to make it easy for unicorn book lovers everywhere to find their next favorite unicorn read.

Those Efforts Seem To Be Paying Off

Many unicorn book lovers have already found their way to my unique unicorn bookstore through the unicorn book links I’ve placed on sites like Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Little Kid Unicorn Books, Middle Kid Unicorn Books, Teen and YA Unicorn Books and Unicorn Books for Adults can all be found at Sybrina’s Unicorn Book Store.
Huge Collection of Unicorn Books
This book store doesn’t just focus on the unicorn books that everyone already knows about like “The Last Unicorn” by Peter S. Beagle or “Acorna: The Unicorn Girl” by Anne McCaffrey or “Phoebe and Her Unicorn” by Dana Simpson. At Sybrina’s Unicorn Book Store, you will find those famous books along with other great unicorn reads that you may have never heard of but are well worth reading like “Shahly’s Quest: The Chronicles of Brawrloxoss” by J. R. Knoll, “Beyond the Khrysalis” by Naya H. Jones and of course, “Journey To Osm – The Blue Unicorn’s Tale” by me, Sybrina Durant. This bookstore offers independent authors the same opportunity as those who are traditionally published to get some eyeballs on their books, as well.

Visit today to browse hundreds of unicorn books by all of the unicorn authors in the known authorsphere plus lots of other cool unicorny stuff that you just can’t live without. You might just be delighted at what you will find there.
