Unicorn Book Feature – Ariel by Steven R. Boyett

Sybrina’s Unicorn Book Pick

Unicorns!  How we love them. . .Luckily for all of us unicorn lovers there are hundreds of unicorn books available for all age groups.  I have gathered information about as many as I can find and have placed them here for you in one convenient spot on my blog.  Today’s Unicorn Book Feature is

Ariel

 By Steven R. Boyett

At four-thirty one Saturday afternoon the laws of physics as we know them underwent a change. Electronic devices, cars, industries stopped. The lights went out. Any technology more complicated than a lever or pulley simply wouldn’t work. A new set of rules took its place—laws that could only be called magic. Ninety-nine percent of humanity has simply vanished. Cities lie abandoned. Supernatural creatures wander the silenced achievements of a halted civilization.

Pete Garey has survived the Change and its ensuing chaos. He wanders the southeastern United States, scavenging, lying low. Learning. One day he makes an unexpected friend: a smartassed unicorn with serious attitude. Pete names her Ariel and teaches her how to talk, how to read, and how to survive in a world in which a unicorn horn has become a highly prized commodity.

When they learn that there is a price quite literally on Ariel’s head, the two unlikely companions set out from Atlanta to Manhattan to confront the sorcerer who wants her horn. And so begins a haunting, epic, and surprisingly funny journey through the remnants of a halted civilization in a desolated world.

Book Reviews for the Blue Unicorn’s Journey To Osm by Vermont

The Blue Unicorn’s Journey To Osm – Reader Review

5.0 out of 5 stars

 A 5 solid star read.
By vermont reviewer
Sybrina Durant has brought to life in the pages of her story The Blue Unicorn’s Journey To Osm Illustrated a combination of fantasy and mythology. When Blue is born there is a prophesy spoken over him. One that foretells the saving of the tribe of unicorns. I also loved the illustrations throughout the story. Will Ghel help Blue realize his worth to the tribe? Can Girasol the firebird help find the way through the Muzika Woods. The answer to these questions and more about the unicorn tribe will be found by reading this well written story.

Makes a great keepsake. Get the illustrated book in print for your fantasy library collection.

Mermaids & Unicorns Are At War!
Zimmah, the wicked djinn, thought he was so smart. He thought nothing could stop him, let alone a mere child. That was until he met Whitney, a devilish girl who uses his own powers against him.

A wish gone wrong sends Zimmah, Whitney, and Karim to The Otherworld, a magical land where Mermaids and Unicorns are caught in an epic war. All Whitney wants is to save her sick mother, all Karim wants is to get home, and all Zimmah wants is revenge on the children who have tricked him.

Looking for Reviewers

Would you like to read and review a purely fanciful unicorn fantasy about a tribe of unicorns stranded a universe away from their home world of Unimaise?

My first novel “Journey To Osm – The Blue Unicorn’s Tale” is in desperate need of honest reviews.  This clean read is full of magic, adventure and sciencey stuff plus a little bit of love and war.  Other readers have compared it to fantasy books like Alice in Wonderland, Dragonriders of Pern, The Last Unicorn, and The Hobbit or Lord of the Rings.  Maybe after you read it, you will be reminded of  other books you’ve loved.

I am happy send this 85,000 word stand-alone epic fantasy novel in mobi, epub or pdf so if you’d like to read and review it please state your preference in an email to me at sybrina at sybrina dot com.  Please put “I’d Like To Review Journey To Osm” in the subject line.

There is no deadline for reviews as this book is already available at all online bookstores. I would appreciate reviews on any of the following sites:

GoodReads

LibraryThing

Book Bub

Amazon (any site)

Itunes

Smashwords

Google Play

Barnes and Nobles

or your blog if you have one.

Description: Facing extinction, the Metal-Horned Unicorns of MarBryn are desperate for hope. Any hope. . .So when the Oracle reveals the prophecy promising just that, the remaining members of the tribe pin their future on the birth of a young foal. Hope becomes despair when the baby unicorn is born without metal. . .because without metal there is no magic. And without magic, this little blue newborn has no chance to defeat the evil sorcerer that has imprisoned all of MarBryn. Magh’s rule proves both harsh and brutal and by the time Blue comes of age there are only twelve metal-horns left in all of MarBryn. Eleven can claim some form of metal based magic. . .but one must get by on sheer grit, will, and the desire to avenge his parents untimely deaths. Like most of the metal-horns, Blue disregards the prophecy as nonsense, but driven by his insecurities, he covertly trains for a fight he’s ill-equipped to win.And then hope comes back around. For Blue. . .For the Metal Horn Unicorns of MarBryn. . .But can a unicorn with no metal. . .no magic. . .answer the call of fate?

I hope to hear from you.
