AGREE. Honestly, why send hate at all, let alone *death threats*?? Isn’t it easier to ignore what you dislike than do something like that? People are awful sometimes.
Exactly! And you know, for those times when some celebrity you know of does something just so despicable that you find yourself unable to keep quiet about it, there are other options in terms of expressing said opinions.
Let’s say Joe Prettyman, your favourite actor, gets caught filming underage pornos or something. You can retweet his awful tweets. You can post on your blog and say “Joe Prettyman is into underage porn and that’s terrible for these reasons”, as long as it’s true, better still if you post with sources. You can email JP’s agent or whatever fanmail address you can find and say, “Dear Joe, I can’t believe you did that, you despicable twat”, etc. You can, in your fandom bubble, ship Joe’s wife or husband with someone you think more worthy of her affections. You can quit fan groups and urge others to do the same. There are many options for you to express your displeasure with this celebrity’s behaviour.
What you cannot do: post a death threat online or anywhere else! It’s that simple to understand.
I just hate that this complete idiot makes the rest of us look crazy! Don’t reference us in your illegal hate campaign! We’re not like that and have NO desire to be thought of that way! Ugh!!!

Death threats are never okay. Death threats are illegal, and you should be taken to court over them. You have an issue? Call that person out. If you share a social media platform, go ahead and take them to task. If a means of direct communication is available, go for it. Be respectful and state your issues clearly and calmly. Making a death threat is a whole different business! And this is a clear and frankly VERY easy distinction to make! No matter what your feelings about another human being are, do not post a death threat!
And furthermore, do not associate yourself with groups of normal people engaged in normal fan activities! We are not you! We do not wish to be you! Or to be associated with you! Don’t send death threats and then claim membership with us! We want no part of this! This shouldn’t have had to be said even once! Stop this now!!!!!!
