Novel’s at 40,000 words. Thanks to the book the lovely dduane suggested, I think I now have a genre/category for it? I’m going with literary thriller. Eee!

Sherlock doesn’t even know why he resents John’s dates so much. Until the day he does know.
It takes a while for Sherlock to figure out what exactly his feelings for John are, but he does get there eventually! And we get an extremely well-written Sherlock (really, his voice and inner monologue are great and on point), though John’s also excellent here (and both of them are a bit prickly, which is so believable because John really isn’t super nice all the time either). And there’s pining and delicious unresolved sexual tension, and oh then, the resolution, it’s gorgeous! A fantastic read.
Thanks for the rec!! :) This was my second story in the fandom and my first time writing first person POV for Sherlock! I’m really glad you liked it - thanks! <3333

Working on the novel today and accidentally just typed the word “anecdonts”, lol. I think we should use this for bad stories that people tell. “Oh honey, please don’t tell that anecdont about your shoelaces again!”

“I could actually rip the rest of your clothes off, if you want. It doesn’t have to be a joke. Maybe not here, precisely, but when we get home… ?”
No, Sherlock thought. Best not say it aloud after all.

I don’t know why it took me so long to realise this, but I just had the minor epiphany that Will and Jada named their kids after themselves, but they gave their male kid a basically gender-neutral version of Jada’s name and their female kid a basically gender-neutral version of Will’s name. That’s rather cool!
