Marília was born on a snowy winter day in Ithaca-NY, and after learning the word "bus", relocated to the sunny Natal, in the northeast of Brazil, where she spent most of her life (give or take 254km to the south) with her parents and her cats. Now she lives in Ohio with her husband and, sadly, no cats.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Marília Bonelli I don't have "generalized" writer's block often. It's more likely that I'll get stuck when writing a story, but I'll be fine if I switch over to anot…more I don't have "generalized" writer's block often. It's more likely that I'll get stuck when writing a story, but I'll be fine if I switch over to another different story.
When I have writer's block regardless of the story, I'll go back and read something I've already written, either leading up to the part where I'm stuck or simply some part I know gets me excited about the story every time (cue Helena realizing Peter is dead - not a spoiler, by the way).
If it's particularly bad case of writer's block, then the only thing to do is sit down and write about having a block. That usually results in someone struggling to study or work and unable to get on with it. It usually works.
By the by, that's also how I deal with insomnia...(less)

2023... when did you leave me behind?

 

I'm pretty sure there's some kind of time vortex that swallows up hours, days, months... There's gotta be. It can't possibly be anything else, right?

Anyway, there was another anthology last winter from the Dublin Creative Writers Cooperative: 


 

Lots of scary/spooky stories in this one! 

And there's another anthology coming out later this year as well from DCW. I'm so excited!
