This book is one of the books that is mentioned in Warriors: I Bring the Fire Part V. It is an excellent biography/autobiography of the author, her mother and her grandmother. It is a great introduction to Chinese modern history. It’s been a while since I read this book, but there are things that stand out about each of the women’s lives. The thoughts on women craving jewelry: it’s not for bling, it’s because jewelry is something they can sell when the chips are down and they are no longer beautiful. The communist parties ridiculous notions of equality: make the pregnant women march too (although in the context of the story it probably saved Jung’s mother’s life, if her husband had shown favoritism to her it could have cost htem down the line). And then there is the author’s own first interactions with Westerners. The man she meets takes at face value things he reads in the Chinese press. Jung was at once dismissive and impressed—she realized he took it at face value because he took it for granted the press was truthful.

Anyway, a wonderful story of women persevering, and even flourishing, despite all odds.

Highly recommended. Get it on Amazon >

Hello, Some time ago I downloaded an Excel spreadsheet of discount book sites that included the numbers on their mailing list and FB followers. C Gockel is the name on the top of the sheet. If I'm in the right place, I was wondering if you've updated your

Hi that’s probably partially my spreadsheet. I posted this for everyone a while back:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AkOyQ5SflEaodEM0VGlpRm5rU2ppTWpGQkFpUkxrY1E&usp=drive_web#gid=0

It only has FB followers and website visits, not email list sizes.

I do have another list, but it has some things on it that I’d have to strip out. I don’t know when I will get around to posting it.

Norse myth Loki this time - I say that very loosely, I did no research for this other than my own knowledge of mythology mostly gained from various books and the Runemarks series because this was just meant to be an exercise in learning how use this bloody tablet. This is a young, pre-stitches Loki, hence the lack of scarring and the carefree expression. Basically he’s got red hair because I’ve always imagined him with red hair, (I’m pretty sure that’s the most popularly agreed hair colour for him, plus I was introduced to Norse myth via the Runemarks series), and he’s got green eyes because of many reasons ranging from “yeeee green eyed redheads” to “Runemarks Loki colouring is my true Loki colouring” and “green often symbolises the more chaotic and mischievous/untrustworthy side of the uncanny”.

I’m pretty sure the little braid was at least subconsciously inspired by this artist’s portrayal of Runemarks Loki so credit where it’s due.

PERFECT!

And then I finish the sample and want to cry.

Oh, I’m so sorry! I did my best this time to get it to B&N in a more timely fashion. They are doing some extra verification on me for some reason…anyway, if they don’t post Warriors themselves, they’ll post it when they’re batching their Smashwords books. It’s on Scribd and Apple already, so it’s been approved and sent out. Whoopee!

Warriors: I Bring the Fire Part V is now on Scribd! The whole series is there, and if you sign up for a free one month trial and feel like binge reading, you could conceivably read them all free there. :-)

They also have all Neil Gaiman’s books last time I checked.

See the number one in Norse Mythology? That’s my book, Warriors:  I Bring the Fire Part V. I have no idea how long this will last, but I’m incredibly grateful to all my fans and excited. It’s been hard being a non-Kindle Unlimited writer these past few weeks. Sales have definitely been hit, and I’m hoping that this helps pull them up.

Not an Amazon reader? Warriors is also available at Google and Smashwords (Smashwords offers ALL formats—Epub, Mobi, PDF, and even RTF and TXT files. I used to buy all my stuff as TXT files back when my phone was old and clunky). I’m trying to publish direct with B&N this time, to cut down on the distribution time; but this morning I got a message that my banking information was declined. Not sure how long it will take to straighten out.

For those of you unfamiliar with my books. The I Bring the Fire series is about Chaos, and it tells the story of Loki through several incarnations.  I Bring the Fire is probably set apart from the other recent books about Loki in that I’m not trying to demonize him, or redeem him; I’m trying to redeem chaos itself, because I have kids and have a healthy respect for chaos. The first book is FREE. Here’s the setup: When Amy prays for someone to help her, Loki isn’t who she had in mind. Loki can’t resist Amy’s summons, but he can insist she help him outwit Odin and give him dinner—not necessarily in that order. A hilarious blend of mythology, adventure, and dinosaurs with over 100 five-star reviews on Amazon.

You can download the first in the series just about everywhere. Did I mention it is FREE? Here are the links:  Amazon, Apple, Google, B&N, Kobo & Smashwords
