Birthday Celebration
It’s coming….it is a big one…at least it kind of feels like it to me. On September 6th I will turn…30. I’m in a happy mood right now. I have hit a bit of a stride in my writing lately and I’m about to be on vacation from the job. So excited and ready for a vacation. It is seriously needed.
Being in a good mood I decided to spread the joy a little bit. So from now to the end of September I’m offering a discount on my poetry books. I’m sorry to say that this is just for paperbacks and can only b...

Reflecting
Over this year of writing and getting four poetry books self-published I have gotten asked a couple of times how things are going and how the next projects are coming. Those things are fine but I’ve also been asked a few times how sales are going. I don’t really like that one. One, I’m not so sure of just how to comfortable answer it but also sure I will check out the sales occasionally just to see but when it comes down to it sales aren’t a high priority. Yes, I dream of the day to either be...

Sometimes we have to make room for a heart full of happiness
I’m a big fan of the show One Tree Hill. It was on for nine seasons and I’ve been watching it on Netflix lately. I went back to the beginning. There were things about some of the characters that I felt I could connect with when it first came out and at that time it was something I really needed.
So watching back over it I get reminded of those things but it doesn’t bring up bad memories. Instead it helps me see how far I’ve come.
Right now I’m watching season six. One of the characters, James L...

Here it All Starts
I have had my laptop for a few months now and it is the first time that I have had the option to make a video. I have been thinking it would be kind of cool to do one. Then I would think about doing it and what I would talk about. Then I would chicken out because well….if you know me off line then you know that isn’t really my thing.
Finally I just had to tell myself that it was time to take another step outside my comfort zone. So, here have the first one. I had to do it twice. The first one...

One Year Ago Today
It is kind of hard to believe that it has been a year since my first book, Eyes to Heaven, has been published. Being a published author is something I have wanted to do for a long time. Honestly it seemed like something that was just going to be a distant dream that might come true one day.
Over the years I looked at different self-publishing sites seeing what my different options were through that route. Crazily enough there was a part of me that was thinking of maybe it wouldn’t be too hard...

Find out the college prank that went sour
If you could travel somewhere for “research” for a book where would you go and why?
This is a beautiful question. It feels luxurious to answer. The book I’m writing now is set in West Virginia and I really want to spend a few weeks there, listening to the cadence of the accent, learning idioms and dialect, and studying mannerisms. Just getting to know the good, strong people there. So, that should be my answer, right? Except you didn’t put any limits on me, so I feel like casting my net wider....
Character Chat: Perfect Glass
Meg and Henry, I want to thank you both for stopping by and answering some questions to let us get to know you some more. I also want to thank you for sharing your story. I know that for me it felt like an emotional roller coaster so I can only imagine what it really felt like for you two actually going through it all.
How about a couple of little known facts about you?
Henry – Um . . . my three older sisters used to put dresses on me when I was a baby. There are some unfortunate pictures that...
