This is what an Immigrant with a Greencard looks like… After 13 years it is finally over!

One Immigrant and his Green Card... We did it!!!

One Immigrant and his Green Card… We did it!!!

The final hurdle, I have my Greencard in my hand and it is a non-conditional card good for the next ten years. This means no matter what I am back to full Legal Permanent Status and the next time I deal with the USCIS it will be for full citizenship. We did it!!! Thank you Matter of Sesay for the legal precedent and thank you one and all for your support :)

My Doctor Who Cuddly Sketch Card quest continues with the Seventh Doctor Sylvester McCoy

The Seventh Doctor by Nick Davis

The Seventh Doctor by Nick Davis

Today in Whovian news we learned who would play the Twelfth Doctor, an actor who has is fairly familiar to the Doctor Who series Peter Capaldi who will for the first time in ten years will bring a much older face to the Doctor. This post isn’t about that though… My quest to make a Cuddly Doctor continues with the Seventh Doctor played by Sylvestor McCoy in the 1987 Doctor Who TV series.

This Doctor started off as a clown, but quickly became much darker as Sylvestor brought  more machiavellian edge to the character with plans within plans. It was though too little too late and the Seventh Doctor’s reign ended with the cancellation of the series.  The Seventh Cuddly Doctor is finished in black ink and watercolor.

Next on the list of Cuddly Doctor Who Sketch Cards is the Sixth Doctor played by Colin Baker

The Sixth Cuddly Doctor by Nick Davis

The Sixth Cuddly Doctor by Nick Davis

After talking a day off from my Doctor Who cuddly sketch card quest, but I’ve picked up the pieces with the Sixth Doctor played by Colin Baker in the 1984 Doctor Who TV Series. The Sixth Doctor had a much more traumatic regeneration and as such his mind was shattered by the experience. Hence the kleptic clothing and extreme behavior he exhibited.

I never watching any episodes from this incarnation of the Doctor when they first aired and it was only recently I watched a few, this Doctor was a polarizing figure and therefore not considered to be a huge fan favorite. My Cuddly Sketch Card alternate was finished in black ink and watercolor pencils.

As the production work continues on the Teddy Bear Tale adventure comic Tristan & the Cuddly Defenders. I thought it would be cool to share another sneak peek at another piece of artwork from the book. In this piece it seems Archer is getting the better of Jar-Head, but to what end? Well, you will have to wait until the book is released to find out why…

My Doctor Who Cuddly Sketch card quest moves onto the Fifth Doctor played by Peter Davidson

The Fifth Cuddly Doctor by Nick Davis

The Fifth Cuddly Doctor by Nick Davis

I will be honest by the time Peter Davidson played the Fifth Doctor in the 1981 Tv Doctor Who series I was more interested in watching the A-Team on ITV. At this time the show was changing and Peter Davidson, who I previously saw in All Creatures Great and Small playing Tristan was considered a risky choice because of his youth.

I do remember this Doctor’s adventures were more in space than time and some of the special effects were a little cheap. The Fifth Cuddly Doctor illustration was finished in black ink and watercolor pencils.

This is my Doctor the Fourth Doctor Tom Baker and now he is part of my Doctor Who Cuddly Sketch Cards

The Fourth Doctor by Nick Davis

The Fourth Doctor by Nick Davis

The Fourth Doctor played by Tom Baker in the 1974 Doctor Who TV series, this was my Doctor the one I grew up with, it was the Monsters he faced that had me hiding behind the sofa. In many ways he is considered to be the most recognizable Doctor and he certainly had one of the longest TV reigns defining the role as a whimsical and sometimes brooding individual whose enormous personal warmth is at times tempered by his capacity for righteous anger.

For many people in the USA he was the first Doctor they remember as he enjoyed a long run on PBS. As befits the Fourth Doctor I kept him in full color and gave him his most famous companion K9 the Robotic (and snarky) Dog. The Cuddly Doctor was finished in black ink and watercolor.

Immigration Update!!! The long wait is now over USCIS are finally granting me my Green Card!!!

Green CardI’ve held off commentating on any immigration updates because there really has not been one. From the panicked rush and miracle in the form of all your help, well wishes and assistance it turned into a very, very long wait – almost two years in its making. Today though I logged into my USCIS status update and got some real good news… My Green Card is on its way!!!

Yes you read that right!!! USCIS are finally granting me a Green Card!!!

I’ve been on this track to get one for thirteen years as of August 8. Along the way I’ve had misfortune, mishaps, divorce, and lost one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. Then I came within a hair’s breathe of being deported after I lost my non-immigrant status and had to appear in Federal Immigration Court to prove that I could stay.

But thanks to all your support, and actually meeting the legal precedent set by Matter of Sesay which allowed me a second chance to apply via my first wife’s marriage I legally met all their conditions to get this card.

I’ve walked the entire gambit from Non-Immigrant, to undocumented, being called a non-person and in fear of losing everything I had to a fully legal permanent resident. This is the best news of the year so far!!! This opens so many more doors and it has been a very, very, very long wait… But something good this way comes :)

My friends I am a LPR!!! I m now a fully documented and legal immigrant.

Next stop… Citizenship!!!

The Third Doctor Jon Pertwee now joins the growing Cuddly Doctor Who sketch cards

The Third Doctor by Nick Davis

The Third Doctor by Nick Davis

The Whovian quest continues! Tonight it is the turn of the Third Doctor played by Jon Pertwee in the 1970 TV season of Doctor Who. Unlike the first two incarnations of the Doctor this regeneration was a man of action, quite ready to solve his problems with his brawn as well as his brain. Trapped on Earth by the Time Lords the Doctor joins forces with UNIT (UNified Intelligence Taskforce, or United Nations Intelligence Taskforce) in a series of more terrestrial adventures.

Also the Third Doctor was filmed in color and to reflect this the color palette has changed from gray to technicolor. My third Cuddly Doctor was finished in black ink, watercolor and some charcoal pencil.
