Giveaway: vertical scratching post and perch from Mountain Cat Trees
The folks at Mountain Cat Trees make some of the most beautiful cat trees and scratchers I have seen anywhere. All of their cat hand-crafted cat furniture is made with real trees, with the bark removed. Their designs are absolutely stunning. The furniture is madewith a variety of surfaces for scratching, such as a textured pine base and sisal rope.

Allegra’s World: new window perch
If you’ve read our blog for a while or follow us on Facebook, you’ve seen lots of pictures of me and Ruby on our window perch. It’s one of my favorite places to hang out, whether it’s for watching the world go by outside the window, or for a nice long snooze.
Last week, something bad happened to my window perch: Mom found a hole in it! It started out as a tiny little hole, and neither Mom nor I worried much about it, but it got a little bigger every day, and pretty soon, I could stick my hole...

Adopting a purebred or almost purebred cat
As most of you know, I’m partial to tortoiseshell cats. People often think that torties are a breed, but they’re not. Boo! Special Sunday giveaway: Halloween toys for your kitties
We usually don’t do giveaways on Sundays, but when Kate Benjamin offered to give away one of Moderncat’s Limited Edition Halloween Cat Toy Gift Sets, we wanted to make sure that we ran this giveaway with enough time so the winner could have the toys in time for Halloween!
Allegra and Ruby got an early Halloween surprise when our set arrived in the mail earlier this week. I think the big smile on Allegra’s face describes better than words how much she and Ruby love the toys! The set contains Mo...

Mews and Nips
Tuesday was NationalFeral Cat Day, and the web was filled with great information and heartwarming stories about feral cats, ranging from Deb Barnes informative and comprehensive post titled “National Feral Cat Day: Making Sense of it All” to Kate Benjamin’s moving tribute to her formerly feral cat Theo titled “Remembering Theo on National Feral Cat Day” (that’s Theo in the photo above).
One of my favorite stories was Karen Nichol’s post about her formerly feral cat Tripper, titled “National Fe...
