Last Minute Holiday Shopping Ideas for Cat Lovers
How is your holiday shopping coming along? If you’re already all done and ready to wrap, good for you! I bet your kitties are standing by, eager to help with all the wrapping, which surely is a cat’s favorite part of the holidays. What’s not to like: boxes, paper, ribbons (just be careful, never leave cats unsupervised with ribbon. If a cat ingests ribbon, it can lead to a life-threatening intestinal obstruction.)
But for those of you who still need a little help, here’s a round up of some l...

A Visit to Meow Parlour, New York City’s First Cat Café
During a recent visit to New York City, I had a chance to visit Meow Parlour. The city’s first cat café opened last December. The concept follows that of most cat cafés in this country: visitors can spend time with adoptable cats while enjoying food and drink. Meow Parlous allows visits ranging from half an hour to up to five hours. They offer free Wifi, so you could get some work done while in the company of cats.
The café is a brightly lit open space. I loved the double-fail-safe entry w...

Pet food manufacturer Stella & Chewy’s is voluntarily recalling some of its products sold in the United States and Canada over concerns about the possibility of listeria. A recall of 990 cases of products was prompted by a positive test for Listeria monocytogenes in Stella’s Super Beef Dinner Morsels for dogs in 8.5-ounce frozen bags during routine surveillance testing by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
As a precautionary measure, Stella and Chewy’s is voluntari...

Conscious Cat Sunday: Live a Life of Passion
I believe that we are happiest when we allow ourselves to life a life of passion.I’ve been on a journey of following my bliss for more than two decades now, and I’ve been fortunate that for the past fifteen plus years, I’ve been able to do work I’m passionate about, from working in and eventually managing a veterinary hospital to my current incarnation of writing about and working with cats.

Mews and Nips: San Antonio College Cares for Feral Cats
At San Antonio College in San Antonio, TX, faculty and staff encourage the campus to responsibly care for feral cats. Scattered feline aid stations throughout the campus provide food and water for colonies of feral cats that call this college home. Vernell Walker, dean of professional and technical education, started feeding the cats about a year ago. “It just looked like they were starving; they looked so thin and they’d be following folks,” Walker said. For more about this caring college a...
