Sunday Quotes: Sing

cat-singing

Even though today’s quote is, of course, intended to be a metaphor, you may want to consider actually singing on days when life just seems overwhelming. Believe it or not, singing has been shown to have multiple health benefits.

It’s pretty hard to sing and feel sad, so it’s not surprising that singing has been shown to be a natural anti-depressant. And don’t let it stop you if you feel that you don’t have a good singing voice. I doubt that your cats will judge you!

I sing along with music alm...

Coming in January: Mayim Bialik and a Tortie Star in Call Me Kat

I’ve adored Mayim Bialik since she starred in Blossom in the 1990’s. I loved her in Big Bang Theory. And I just know I’m going to love her even more in her new show, Call Me Kat, because one of her co-stars will be a tortie!

Call Me Kat is based on the British TV comedy Miranda, and stars Bialik as a 39-year-old woman who decides to use the money her parents had been saving for her wedding to buy a cat-themed cafe.

The show will premiere on Fox on January 3.

Raised Water Bowl with Measurements

This post contains affiliate links*

I purchased this water bowl late last year, when Ruby was so sick and I was trying to figure out how to get her to drink easily. She exhibited some very odd drinking behaviors as her kidney disease got worse, and I tried anything and everything I could think of, including this bowl. Sadly, it didn’t work for her. However, Allegra really likes this bowl, and I like what it’s doing for her.

Allegra tends to drink really fast, and occasionally, she’ll urp some ...

Handcarved Flying Tortie Cats

balinese-carved-winged-cats cover

I recently came across these gorgeous handcrafted flying cats on Etsy. Don’t they look just like torties? The cats are hand carved and painted by Balinese artisans.

The story behind these magical winged cats is wonderful. The myth of these Winged Spirit Guardians goes back to ancient Majapahit Mythology in the 13th through 16th century. These guardian figures have deep cultural & spiritual significance. Often found as flying angels in animal or hybrid form, they are used to protect temples or ...

Sunday Quotes: A Voice for Peace

We’ve all been stressed and anxious for a very long time, and we just made it through what was arguably one of the most exhausting weeks in US history. We’ll need to remember to be kind to each other in the coming days and weeks and months, because despite our differences, even if they seem extreme, we are all human beings. It’s time to focus on peace and healing.

It’s probably no accident that halfway through the week, Dan Fogelberg’s song A Voice for Peace...
