Mews and Nips: Tortie Rescued from Drain Pipe
A family on a camping trip in Washington State found a small tortie inside a drain pipe along the side of the road. They brought the emaciated cat to their RV and took her home after the weekend. A few days later, Caci the tortie gave birth to six kittens. The babies needed to be bottlefed initially, but as Caci became stronger, she was able to nurse the kittens. The kittens have already found new homes, but Caci is still waiting for her purrfect forever home. For more about this beautiful fam...

Remembering Ruby: That Time When Ruby Unplugged the Router
This time last year, Ruby’s health was already on a downward spiral, and I’m having a hard time with the memories flooding in. First anniversaries are always difficult, and there’s something about the changing light of fall and the approaching holidays that is intensifying my grief again. Thankfully, memories of some of the silly things my little girl did bring smiles through the tears.
Today’s memory goes back to October of 2011, when Ruby had been with us for six months. She loved being in m...

Happy Halloween
Allegra and I would like to wish you and your kitties a safe and happy Halloween!
This Halloween will be very different from anything we’ve ever experienced before, but I promised Allegra that she’d have some treats in her little bag at the end of the day.
And even though there may not be trick or treaters this year, which eliminates the chances of cats dashing out open doors, please be mindful of some of the other hazards of the holiday, such as decorations, electrical cords and candles. Clic...

Congratulations, Angela Gosselin and Jody A. Vernay! You’re the winners of our Sleepypod Air giveaway.
If you’re wondering why there are two winners – well, it’s because I messed up. I prematurely picked our first winner early in the week before the giveaway had expired, because i thought we were already a week ahead. I’m chalking it up to pandemic brain. I had already notified our first winner, and I really didn’t want to have to tell her “oops, sorry, just kidding!” Thankfully, the wonderful...
