Video: AFA radio host's bizarre anti-gay rant makes him look possessed, ridiculous

G-A-Y readers know I almost always like to focus on the substance of the argument rather than the individual or his/her motivations. But this one is just weird. It's truly one of the oddest pieces of conserva-entertainment performance art I've ever seen. All of Crane Durham's mannerisms are just so oddly overblown:

He's just so bothered by this. Odd to me.

FRC uses Matthew Shepard's murder to make its 'traditional marriage' case

And they even spell his name wrong:

"But we have to stand firm and push back. Marriage is a blessing to families. Three-quarters of the teen rapists in our prisons are fatherless young men, so are two-thirds of the teen murderers. Even gay martyr Matthew Shepherd [sic] was killed by two fatherless young men. Marriage bashes no one. Marriage benefits everyone."

Family Research Council's Bob Morrison, writing on NOM's marriage march

Because ya see, it wasn't anti-gay sentiment (i.e. something FRC...

Video: NOM's duplicitous 'they couldn't answer her' lie (/exploitaiton)

At NOM's March for Marriage rally, the pro-discrimination group played the video of 11-year-old Grave Evans testifying before the Minnesota state legislature. Then, after it played, the speaker onstage, the Heritage Foundation's Jennifer Marshall, repeated what has become the standard claim about the lawmakers and their lack of response to young Grace's rhetorical question about which parent she doesn't need: that they didn't respond because they couldn't respond.

The truth, of course: the Mi...

Video: NYer says gays should be beheaded

Wednesday night, with marriage equality so much in the news, Chris from Willowbrook (Staten Island), New York, felt compelled to call into the New York 1 television program "The Call." Chris proceeded to promote decapitation, something he framed as a consensus position among American Muslims:

Note to self: Never book a haircut appointment with a man named Chris who complains about the Staten Island Ferry's long commute.

They're desperate to turn marriage cases into modern-day 'Roe'; it's 95% political and 100% ridiculous

Frank Schubert, political director for the National Organization For Marriage and the man who has managed just about every marriage campaign in the past five years (including the four that led to pro-equality votes in the 2012 election), makes it perfectly clear where he stands on Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision that respected a woman's right to make reproductive choices. Schubert began a recent NOM commentary like so:

It was an otherwise crisp winter day in 1973 when the United...

The 'father' of divisive Prop 8 posts *literal* symbol of division

Salvatore Cordileone is a major National Organization For Marriage ally who is credited as "the father of Prop 8." Yesterday Cordileone, the current Archbishop of San Francisco, mocked the pro-equality community's successful "go red" social media campaign by posting this image:

Replacing an equal sign with one of division. Who told him this was a good idea?!

I mean, look, if the anti-equality side wants to start owning its obvious fostering of division, then I will be the last...

Video: Harry Jackson at #marrriagemarch: 'Protecting marriage' = no more sexual abuse or ghettos; gold-paved streets and unicorns too, presumably

If a kid has a mom and a dad rather than gay parents (or other form), ghettoes will be revitalized, poverty will be lessened, kids won't go to prison, domestic violence will decrease, sexual abuse won't happen, and peace and joy will come to the household. So says the man who refers to marriage equality as "a satanic plot to destroy our seed":

NOM's war on single parents is really heating up, huh?

Fact: Sen. Murkowski totally going to support equality once polls tell her she can comfortably do so

The Republican Senator is "evolving":

Murkowski elaborated on her stance to Alaska Public Radio. "I think you are seeing a change in attitude, change in tolerance, I guess, and an acceptance that what marriage should truly be about is a lasting, loving, committed relationship with respect to the individual," she said. Her comments came on the same day as the Supreme Court heard arguments challenging the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act.

Latest from NOM's #marriagemarch hashtag: Swastikas, 'fag marriage', 'gays are evil'

The latest from the movement that keeps telling us it's the "loving" one:
