Focus on the Family founder: 'We could have another' Civil War over marriage equality
On a conference call with extreme activists like the uber fringe Janet Porter (whose voice you'll hear first), Focus on the Family founder James Dobson insisted that our country could enter into another Civil War over civil marriage rights for same-sex couples:
Oh gosh, I really hope not. I mean, I really don't want to be brutally murdered by a fellow countryman in an act of war simply because I was born gay and eventually fell in love. Call me a pacifist hippy if you must.

FRC leads supporters into 'spiritual warfare' against 'doctrines of the devil,' 'hosts of hell' (i.e. married gay people)
The Family Research Council is currently living out twenty-one days of prayer and fasting in hopes of stopping civil marriage equality at the US Supreme Court. As you can see from day two's prayer call, the SPLC-designated hate group isn't even trying to hide just how hostile they are toward us, our marriages, and our equal rights, or the negligent war language and devil language they will use to convince our fellow citizens that we are an evil that must be stopped:
First: focus on magnifyi...

Southern Baptist leader demands: Christianity will outlast 'flash in the historical pan' that is gay-accepting America
Denny Burk is a Southern Baptist teacher and commentator with deep ties to the evangelical movement. Here is his warning in response to what happened with the anti-LGBT "religious freedom" law in Indiana:
So the cultured despisers need to look long and hard in the mirror and ask yourselves this question: How far am I willing to go with this? Because you are going to have to go all the way. And when you’ve done your worst, the Christians are still going to be here holding fast to the faith o...
Photo: Evan Wolfson has long been my champion; Wheaties gets the memo
This is just about the coolest thing I've ever seen:
Meanwhile, rumor has it that leaders in the anti-gay movement are busy lobbying dry toast to take on their cause.

Stop. Lying. Tony. Perkins.
When William Jack entered Azucar Bakery in March of 2014, he requested two Bible-shaped cakes with anti-gay messages—one involving a figure of two men with an "x" drawn over them, and another with condemnatory slogans like "god hates f*gs." Owner Marjorie Silva told Mr. Jack that she would gladly bake him blank Bible-shaped cakes, but she would not put the messages that he requested on said cakes.
Or as reliable bearer of false witness Tony Perkins puts it:
And in his mis...
FRC claims Christians will be 'under accelerated assault for the rest of our lives' if SCOTUS rules for equality at this 'evil hour'
I've already told you about the Family Research Council's twenty-one days of fasting and prayer in which they are asking God to intervene so that the United States Supreme Court does not open up civil marriage rights to same-sex couples in all fifty states. Day one has now arrived, and here is what FRC is saying to rally its supporters:
During the next few months the U.S Supreme Court, could rule again, on four same-sex marriage cases, and declare same sex marriage a constitutional right i...

US Catholic Bishops again using church resources to promote NOM's anti-gay political stunt
There will come a day when US Catholics, who support marriage equality in majority numbers, will not have to suffer through leadership that insists on turning gay people's civil rights into a never-ending political controversy. But for now, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, which is made up of all active and retired Bishops in the US, is still dedicating its time and resources to promoting pro-discrimination events that silly little D.C. special interests like the National Or...
Heritage's Anderson links 'propaganda' of modern marriage equality supporters to anti-miscegenation racists
In an interview with uber anti-gay American Family Association radio host Sandy Rios, Heritage Foundation employee, Public Discourse editor, and marriage discrimination pundit Ryan T. Anderson—who likes to play the "above it all" intellectual despite the people with whom he associates and promotes, the cause or which he advocates, and the rhetoric that he himself has dished—equated current supporters of marriage equality with past opponents of interracial marriage. A snip and link to full cl...
Indiana Family Institute says Gov. Pence stabbed them in the back; comparisons to Judas
Here's Indiana Family Institute's Aaron Reber on last week's "religious freedom" fiasco, writing for the official blog of the most prominent anti-LGBT organization in Indiana:
From what I've heard from my contacts who were at the statehouse when this went down, it turns out our legislature didn't just pass a "fix". They also made a deal with LGBT activists to introduce a bill next session to give homosexuals "protected class" status. I could barely believe it when I heard it, but it makes t...
Video: CSPAN gives Tony Perkins a "newsmaker" pass
Even though Tony Perkins has equated homosexuality with drug abuse, many times branded gay people "pawns of the enemy," and has spent the past decade demanding that gay people are "outside of nature," (to name just a few vitriolic claims), the highly respected CSPAN booked the Family Research Council president on its weekend "newsmaker" program, where they allowed him to play the role of a buttoned up, mainstream conservative voice. Tony's claims are fallacious, as per usual, it's the fact th...
