Eleven Republican US Sens. give anti-gay conservatives a taste of a near and less divisive future

This is notable, even if it's basically ceremonial:

WASHINGTON — Eleven Senate Republicans joined with all of the Democrats on Thursday night in supporting an amendment to guarantee equal Social Security and veterans benefits to married same-sex couples — even if they live in a state that does not recognize such marriages.

The eleven are Ayotte (NH), Burr (NC), Collins (ME), Heller (NV), Johnson (WI), Kirk (...

NOM proudly touts #March4Marriage backers who believe homosexuality 'should be treated by society as immoral, dangerous perversion'

The National Organization For Marriage is very excited that "Crown Then With Glory," a group from The Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America, is marching and organizing with them at their upcoming March For Marriage:

Here is what this very same group believes about homosexuality, which they have shared on the Facebook page where they are vigorously promoting NOM's march:

#TBT: Even after legal equality, Americans—and particularly religious Americans—struggle to accept certain marriages

The most devout churchgoers are the most adamantly opposed.

Couples face discrimination in housing and public accommodations.

Opponents worry about the "innocent children" brought up in such marriages.

Now? No, then:

Indiana threatens its commerce, tourism dollars, reputation, general welfare of its citizenry

What to say, really? Another GOP-led legislature in another red state has passed a measure that the far-right hopes will help them discriminate against same-sex couples who seek their services:

Indiana's governor signs bill allowing businesses to reject gay customers [CNN]

Supporters of the license-to-discriminate bill, including the conservative governor who might run for president in '16, are pretending like this push is benign and that the time is coincidental. Bullsh*t. Indiana does no...

Video: AFA prez expounds on organization's movement-destructive ad by adding even more religious fervor

Yesterday I showed you the pragmatism-deprived ad that the American Family Association, one of the high-profile "pro-family" groups that has been working in concert with the broader conservative movement to stop marriage equality in this nation, placed in The Washington Post. Now listen in as AFA's president continues to admit what those of us who have fought this fight have always known: that the other side is exclusively guided by their own belief that God simply dislikes homosexuality:

NOM resorts to blatant lying in its 2015 #March4Marriage materials

Check out this nonsense, which you can find in the talking points that the National Orgaanization For Marriage is distributing in support of its upcoming "march for marriage":

SOURCE: NOM's March For Marriage talking points

Of course the truth is that we are nearing forty states that already have marriage equality, even before Supreme Court action. NOM's "most states still define marriage..." line is a crazy lie.

And of course it's also true that all credible polling puts support for mar...

NOM coalition partner: America will fall unless you March For Marriage

This comes from the Coalition of African American Pastors, an affiliate of the National Organization For Marriage:

Owennom-2 This scripture sums up the condition of America today; there is no new thing under the sun, and all nations eventually end up at the same end of the road when they choose to disregard the divine laws of God. The historical specter of what a fallen nations looks like can been seen throughout the pages of history; and history proves that when spiritual corruption and lawlessness...

About those children of fractured families who keep blaming same-sex parenting for their issues...

Divorce is hard. From what I understand, at least. Both my and my husband's parents have been happily married for around fifty years, and Andrew and I have a marriage solid enough to make even the toughest rocks jealous. I'm privileged to have avoided being directly touched by such separation, but I've certainly been around divorce enough to know that it can be a difficult thing for both the couple and their children.

It's not an insurmountable difficulty, obviously. Millions of families ha...
