On eve of 9/11 anniversary, anti-gay Fox News contributor connects POTUS to Al Qaeda

A truly sick attempt at a relevant connection:

More on Starnes, whose most prominent role of recent is as a middle man between activists like Tony Perkins and the anti-LGBT spin they wish to get into the mainstream media: Todd Starnes [GLAAD CAP]

Video: 'Homo Akbar'

In truth, gay people and our supporters simply told the business that if they didn't want to comply with local nondiscrimination law, then a great deal of us would take our business elsewhere. Then we proceeded to tell others about this, a choice that the bakery made on its own volition.

But when Patricia Mitchell (wife of Jason Mitchell) takes on her alternate WorldNetDaily personality, which she calls DJ Dolce, the game is all about making America think gay people are horrible militants who...

NOM owns its illegal-in-all-fifty-states mission

At this point, what more can we say about the cake bakers who wanted to turn away a gay couple rather than comply with nondiscrimination law, and who then chose to close what had apparently become an unprofitable business? That conversation is well worn, and we on the side of basic fairness are winning it.

Instead, I want to applaud the National Organization For Marriage for using the word "illegal" when referring to the current status of same-sex marriage in Oregon:

GLAAD: But here's the thing, Glenn Beck…

When it comes to gay rights, Glenn Beck tells The New York Times that he wants everyone to get along. So why does he push some of America's most hostile (and I mean HOSTILE) voices?

IL Family Institute erects wholly unpersuasive billboards

From the (incredibly incendiary) group leading the charge to stop marriage equality in the Land of Lincoln:

A few things.

Jesus is not a member of the state House of Representatives. (*At least I don't think so. Can someone in Springfield send me the latest roll call? K, thanks).

Jesus is not a required component of any person's civil marriage. That's true for people who do not couple their civil license with faith; it's true for those faiths that do not hold Jesus as their Messiah.

The real...

Video: Springfield Bishop doesn't want homosexuality seen as 'a good thing'; thinks SCOTUS should've followed his personal faith view

Springfield, IL, Bishop Thomas Paprocki, like so many of our nation's bishops, continues the effort to alienate the majority of his own church by overextending his personal theological condemnations and suggesting that his view as unmarried, childless, religious leader who subscribes to one of the many varied faith positions should be persuasive enough to guide our nation's highest court of *CIVIL* (i.e. not canonical) law. Clip is cued:

Bryan Fischer gives Trail Life USA its proper tagline: 'Your gay-free alternative to the Boy Scouts'

Like Peter LaBarbera, Bryan Fischer is another one who serves the useful role of admitting truths that his own movement fails to admit. Here he is branding the new Trail Life USA organization:

Exactly! The only reason this new organization exists is because the Boy Scouts now accept gay minors. There is no other reason. Longtime anti-LGBT activist John Stemberger created Trail Life USA because of hostility to gay acceptance. Period.

Of course Trail Life USA denies all this, pret...

Peter LaBarbera's useful role: Pulling mask off his movement's 'nice' talk

When talking about the issue, the pragmatic politicos who are desperately trying to hold ground in a marriage equality fight that they are so quickly (and obviously) losing make considerable strides to deny that homo hostility is driving their advocacy. That's because this movement long ago realized that admitting a desire to discriminate was a surefire way to lose. This is why, for the past decade or so, we've been subjected to so much "protect marriage" chatter. The whole charade has been a...
