Breaking: Federal judge strikes down Wisconsin's marriage ban!
A federal judge has just invalidated the Badger State's ban against same-sex marriage.
Developing.
*UPDATE: Here's the opinion and order from Judge Barbara Crabb (pic), a Carter appointee. It makes pertinent reference to past discrimination and the long struggle to overcome. A great read to round out a week:

Linda Harvey on anti-gay movement's next phase: 'To protect the innocent' from 'homosexuals'
It's very interesting to watch the anti-LGBT activists process their crushing losses and impending political irrelevancy. Some are in deep denial. Some are viciously angry. Some are scheming whatever minor way they can chip away at progress, hoping to at least stay in business for a few more years.
Others have moved away from trying to save us from ourselves and are now moving on to "protecting the innocent" from the "wolves"
We may be moving from a time where our biggest challenge was to witne...
And now all fifty states have marriage equality or a legal challenge

Wendy Davis counters TX GOP's support for 'ex-gay' therapy; launches #DontNeedFixin campaign
As you've likely heard, the Republican party of Texas has embraced a new party platform that quite literally endorses reparative therapy and other scientifically discredited ways to "cure" gay people. Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Wendy Davis is havin' none of it:
Smart that her hashtag is written the way it is. It's another reminder that a Texas that leaves out the "G" (and "L" and "B," and likely "T") is the kind of Texas the state Republican party is working toward

NOM now trying to scare America with talk of trans inclusion
Did you know that transgender men and women need same-sex couples to have marriage rights in order to make a case for inclusion? And did you know that transgender rights are therefore a fitting talking point for an organization with a focus supposedly limited to marriage policy to use in their fundraising emails?
That is, after all, the message the National Organization For Marriage, the most on-the-ropes special interest group in American politics is sending to its supporters. After a banner...
Audio: Add former NOM leader Jennifer Roback Morse to the marriage-equality-is-inevitable crowd
Jennifer Roback Morse fought for Proposition 8 and then joined the National Organization For Marriage (as part of NOM's "Education Fund") for five or so years of trying to convince America that marriage equality is never going to happen. That is now over. In an appearance on Catholic radio, Roback Morse, who left NOM in 2013, is now admitting that Republican senator Orrin Hatch is quite right to say that marriage equality is inevitable here in America:

'Your final warning' about happy gay people happily riding Space Mountain
The American Family Association's One News Now site wants you to know that the time left to avoid the crushing weight of homosexuality that will impose itself on the Magic Kingdom and Epcot is now measured in hours, not days:
Although it's actually not your final warning. The ONN report notes that Florida activist David Caton will once again fly a banner over the area warning locals about the mouse-eared homosexuality taking part underneath.
Because nothing's ever final with...
Target launches pride T-shirt line
The right side of history meets the right side of commerce:
[@Target]
(h/t: Scott Hutcheson)
This is another one of those things that shows the clear difference between our side and our opposition's. Can you even imagine a major retail chain announcing shirts that support their position? No. Obviously not. It wouldn't even be in the ballpark of consideration. No major retailer would push a line of clothing branded with the other side's antipathetic talking points.
In these more homespun and less...

Video: D.C. news show properly frames NOM as the 'foes' that they are
For the most part, this interview between National Organization For Marriage communications guy Joe Grabowski and D.C. TV host Bruce DePuyt is standard fare. Bruce cites truths about the turning tide while Joe resorts to the same tired talking points and self-absorbed spin (e.g. poll questions aren't "presented in the way that we would like the question to be presented") that we've all heard for years. When it comes to NOM, we expect nothing more and nothing less than non-answers, aggressive...
