Release Day Blitz & Giveaway: London Falling

London Falling by T.A. Foster: It’s London’s senior year and she only needs one class to graduate. She just didn't expect her final assignment: fall in love.

Communication 224 has a reputation for giving out the most unique projects of the semester. When London James and Beau Anderson signed up for the class they had no idea they would be paired up together, much less spend an entire semester working on their final grade.

Professor Garcia tasks them to produce a study on the hit reality show, Love Match, a show about strangers falling in love on over the top dates. London and Beau decide to debunk the popular show’s fantasy portrayal of romance. Determined they can date the entire semester and not fall for each other, the classmates share blogs about their dates and start a website where everyone can follow their dating experiment.

Is staying out of love as easy as it seems? Headstrong and success-driven London discovers there might be more important things in life than an A.

SynopsisIs it possible to find your one true love…twice?

Blind date. When Allie and Ben are thrown together to help their friends out of a bind, they find the unexpected – and unwanted - spark of attraction difficult to ignore. Surrendering to it, they marry and live their happyish-ever-after – until Ben’s death reveals a betrayal that rocks Allie’s world.

The sidelines. Where Jake has hovered for the past fifteen years, business partners with his best friend, in love with his best friend’s wife. He’s shocked by his friend’s duplicity, overcome by the guilt of a deathbed promise. But he’s waited half a lifetime for a chance to love Allie, and it’s time to make his move.

Marriage. Allie might be ready to take the slow slide from friend to lover, but a lifetime is a leap she won’t agree to. She can’t deprive Jake of the family he’s never had but longs for – the family she can no longer give him. How can she refuse him, though, when he sets out to prove the only family he needs – has ever wanted – is her
Excerpt“I’m in love with you, Allie. I’ve always loved you.”Allie gasped and jerked her hands from around his, slapping her fists to her chest like it would protect her. “No. Jake, no. You can’t. I can’t.” Frantic now, her eyes were wide with alarm, her breaths coming in short gasps. “I promised I’d take care of you, too. I…can’t.”The corners of his lips lowered until his smile was but a flimsy substitute. He’d come so far already. He’d taken the first halting step, he couldn't let her shut him down. To see this through he had to leap.“I learned—a long time ago—to be your friend, Allie. It was the only way I could be a part of your life.” A lifetime of yearning clotted his throat as the words, full of emotion, spilled from his mouth like floodwaters breaching a dam. “But now, now Ben’s been gone a long time and we've both done a lot of healing.” He reached for her hands again, lifted them from where they’d drifted to her lap.“You’re an amazing woman, resilient and strong. I want to be your friend, but I love you. I want more.” Amazingly enough, the words he was unable to rehearse earlier came instinctively now. He brushed his lips across her knuckles.“I need you, Allie. I need to be with you. I need to come home to you at the end of the day. To share my life with you, and to share yours. To sleep with you at night, and wake with you in the morning. And I think you need me too.”There it was. His heart - laid on the line for her to cherish or destroy. It cost him, but the past three years had cost Allie as well. Cost more than the time spent taking back her independence, but the reward was ineffable – Allie as a strong, resilient woman. Could he ever make her understand how proud he was of her?A large gray moth fluttered against the screen of the open glass door. The antique Regulator clock ticked against the far wall. He sat, facing her, searching her eyes, searching her heart, waiting for a sign, scared to death.Allie lifted her chin, determined steel gray eyes connecting with his, her fingers tightened around his, her face impassive.“No, Jake. I don’t need you. ***“Thank you for last night, Jake.”He drew his eyebrows together in confusion, tightened his fingers around hers and drew her to a halt. “You waiting for me to say you’re welcome, Allie? Because thank you doesn't begin to cover how I feel about last night.”

Cover Reveal: All the Pretty Poses

All the Pretty Poses by M. Leighton: He never wanted to be a hero…until she needed him to be.

Strength…
It took Kennedy Moore years to put her life back together after Reese Spencer shattered it. But she did. Now, years later, strong and independent, she is in pursuit of a single dream—to dance with the Altman American Dance Theater. Unfortunately, Kennedy is learning that a girl from nowhere with no money and no contacts might never be able to reach her goal.

That is, until Reese reappears, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that Kennedy just can’t refuse. In exchange for working on his yacht for a few short weeks, he’ll get her an audition with the famous dance troupe. All Kennedy has to do is keep her head down, work hard and resist Reese. That sounds easy enough, right?

Weakness…
Reese doesn't want to make it easy for Kennedy. Seeing her again has started a fire in his blood—an unwelcome one. It took him years to forget about her before, so this time he has a plan. It’s simple: Get Kennedy on his yacht, seduce her, get her out of his system, move on with his life. That sounds easy enough, right?

But the one thing Reese didn't plan for was Kennedy herself—a girl so strong yet so broken, she makes him want to rescue her, to take care of her. To save her. Even if he has to save her from himself.

Kath's thoughts: Before stating all of my emotions for this book I’d like to thank Mimi Strong for making my daily daydream a novel. I've always been a fan of Ian Somerhalder or Damon from The Vampire Diaries that’s why when I've read that Dalton Angelo is a hottie vampire actor I've instantly pictured that he’s Ian Somerhalder and also for creating a perky, gorgeous girl with humongous “peaches” :) Peaches Monroe is truly a character that will never be forgotten and will always have an impact to us readers.

So I've really… really… missed Peaches humor! And once again Mimi never failed my expectations it’s wonderful written, I love it! I’ll admit that in this book it’s a mixed-up emotion for me. On this chapter I’ve been swooning over Peaches and Adrian then the next I’ll be routing for Dalton again (but it always been Dalton for me).

Yes, you may find Peaches quite annoying with some situations but what I really liked about this book is mostly all of Dalton actions. It really is an every girl’s fantasy to have a novel like this. Gaaahhh…

So not to spoil the story or anything… It really is a must read and then you’ll be then one to decide if you like it or not. :) And oh! I really kept thinking Ian Somerhalder the time I’m reading it *wink wink* I LOVE YOU DALTON!!!

Book Review: Song of the Fireflies

Song of the Fireflies by JA Redmerski: Since they were kids, Elias Kline and Brayelle Bates have been inseparable. When Bray moves to South Carolina, separating the two for the first time, they both at last realize that their innocent childhood friendship has developed into something much more. So when Bray finally returns to Georgia—and to Elias—things between them couldn’t be more perfect…until one fateful night changes everything.

Desperate not to go to prison for a terrible accident, Elias and Bray decide to run. As they try to make the most of their freedom, the two find themselves relying on a rebellious group of people who tempt the duo into a wild and daring new life. But they can’t run from their troubles forever.

As the consequences of their past catch up to them, the couple must finally face reality. Even if they can make it through the unimaginable, Elias knows the truth about Bray’s painful history, and in the end he may not be able to save Bray from herself…
TeriLyn's thoughts: **ARC generously provided by Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review**

Song of the Fireflies is a tough one for me to review. I am so grateful to the publisher for providing me the opportunity to read this story. I am a huge fan of J.A. Redmerski and her works. Her writing is one of a kind and Song of the Fireflies is no exception. The story is interesting and the plot engaging. Ms. Redmerski's style of writing draws into the story even more. I think with a different writing style my opinion of this story wouldn't be what it is. The alternating POV's enhanced it for me as well because hearing their story just from Bray's POV would have been too much. The storytelling here is what captivated me. Not the individual characters or even the plot but the way the author told the story of Elias and Bray was so good that I couldn’t look back.

The premise of the story is boy meets girl at a young age, they become fast and best friends and remaining best friends for 17 years. In that time they experiment with each other and give a real relationship a try. Girl runs, boy is devastated. Girl return a few years later and the saga begins. Turns out girl is hiding something monumental from boy. She is the black sheep of her family because of her up and down personality, only ever understood by the boy who loves her. Something just didn't click for me with these characters. Elias and Bray didn't fascinate me; I didn't feel connected to them. I kept thinking to myself Bray has this crazy power of Elias, she can talk him into anything even when she's in a complete downward spiral. And Elias follows her like a lost puppy. I don't know what it was, maybe I don't have good grasp on what their problems are actually like so I can't begin to relate. But I do know that my love for a great book stems from the two main characters, always. My reviews are always more character heavy than anything and with these two I don't feel enough of a connection. Elias' loyalty, strength, and fight for Bray though melted my heart. He never stopped loving her through anything and proved it in huge ways. His character has many redeeming qualities and I'm really glad half of the book was from his POV. The secondary characters were interesting as well. Andrew and Camryn make an appearance in this book which I liked because I love their books and really like cross referencing of characters.

Because of Redmerski's excellent writing and the way she so easily hooks a reader into a story this book kept me entertained and able to finish it. Without her unique style, I don't think I would have liked it. The story will be for many people but it's not the best fit for me. However, Redmerski managed to still entertain me with a story that I normally wouldn't go for so I think that's a huge factor with this book. Song of Fireflies is just further proof that Redmerski can tell an entertaining story. As always, I'm excited to read what she publishes next.

Book Review: Until Trevor

Until Trevor (Until #2) by Aurora Rose Reynolds: Trevor Mayson had his life planned out - make the family business successful and play the field for a few more years before eventually settling down. Then he sees her. Liz Hayes was beautiful, shy and everything that he could ever want...but she didn't fit into his plans. After Trevor painfully rejects her, Liz finally starts to move on, but Trevor is finding it difficult to truly let her go. It seems the more he tries to stay away, the more intense his feelings for her become. Like a stretched rubber band, he can only take so much before snapping.

Liz Hayes is done waiting for Trevor and isn't interested in getting her heart broken by him again, but Trevor is making it difficult for her to forget him when he shoves his way back into her life.

Can Trevor prove to her that he is worth falling in love with again, and is he ready to change his life plan to let her into his heart?
TeriLyn's thoughts: Until Trevor is really good. This author writes a solid alpha male story. Her writing flows and I especially love the ongoing story lines with all the Mayson brothers. This group of boys is a close knit, hilarious bunch of alphas. The plot in Until Trevor drags a bit, more so than in Until November and I think the big climax of the story is rather quick and under-developed. However, the Trevor and Liz's story is entertaining and fun. The banter between Trevor and Liz is laugh out loud funny. Liz gives back to Trevor as good as she gets it. Her feistiness is my favorite part of character. There are some complications involving an ex-lover of Trevor's and Liz's reaction to that is priceless. Trevor is a classic alpha; he's messed up with Liz and once he realizes this, his recovery of her heart is swoon worthy. All the secondary characters are great again as well. We get a peek into what's happening with Asher and November. Until Trevor at times felt like a transitional story into the doozy of a plot I know we can expect in the next book, Until Lilly. We get a lot of what happens with Cash in Trevor's book and the results of that are going to be explosive. I cannot wait to get my hands on Until Lilly. I'm so happy Until November and this series was recommended to me by a friend. This author is producing solid alpha stories that are easy to read and leave you feeling completely satisfied. A must read series!

ExcerptSuddenly, Anna grabs my arm, pulling me towards her. “Who’s that?” she shouts in my ear over the loud music. Looking over at the bar, I see the tiny blonde girl with pink highlights bending over it, holding herself up by her arms talking to David. He is smiling down, listening intently to her. When he replies to her, her entire face lights up and she kisses his cheek before dropping back down to the floor.

I turn back to Anna and snort, “Probably the flavor of the week. That’s the same girl I saw him with at the mall and at Ruby’s yesterday. He’s no different than any other jackass we’ve met.”

Anna watches the blonde head back to her table. “I don’t know Lyr, she didn’t exactly kiss him like a girlfriend would.” We watch as David walks out from behind the bar. Clapping the bartender that just arrived on the shoulder, he says something that makes the bartender laugh, and moves past him.

Once he's lost in the crowd, Anna continues, "Maybe they're just friends or-" she cuts herself off looking at something behind me. I knew exactly what she was looking at. My entire body buzzes as I feel the heat of his body get closer.

I turned slowly in my seat and raise an eyebrow at David, “Can I help you?” I ask snidely.

He grins at me, “I just wanted to come over and say hi. It’s been busy in here tonight.”

“I’m sure being a player is pretty time-consuming.” I glare at him, wanting nothing more than to slap that smile off his face. God, how could I have been stupid enough to fall for the “good guy” routine? Again!

He frowns, looking confused, “I’m sorry?”

Scoffing, I reply, “Yeah, you’re definitely sorry.”

His eyes narrow dangerously, ”Look, I really don't understand what your problem is. I like you, you seemed to like me. Now you're just acting like a bitch. Excuse me if I don't get what you think I did."

Unbelievable. When will I ever meet a guy who isn't a liar or a cheater? "You don't get it? Really? Well, let me spell it out for you. I don't date cheaters. I refuse to be 'that' girl, and I refuse to do that to someone else."

"What the hell are you talking about?" He asks, his voice hard.

I sigh, “I saw you with your girlfriend. I've seen you together a few times now." Is he really going to continue to deny it? I caught him with her!

"How can you possibly see me with someone who doesn't exist? I am many things Princess, a cheater and a liar aren’t one of them." His voice is glacial.

My mouth drops open, “You asshole! She was JUST here! Remember, she’s a short, skinny blonde with pink highlights?"

Jeremy, who’s sitting next to us at the bar spits out his beer laughing, "Shit Dave, she thinks SB is your girlfriend? Now, that's disgusting. She'll love that!"

"SB? What kind of name is SB?" I ask, raising an eyebrow as I look back at David.

"SB is my sister SarahBeth's nickname. My baby sister. Not my girlfriend. She's practically my kid." David responds, glaring at me.

Oh great. Now I really feel like a moron. Talk about jumping to the wrong conclusion. "Oh."

"Yeah, oh. Princess, you really need to stop making snap judgments about me." He snaps.

The look on his face makes me feel about two inches tall. But, this wasn’t my fault. If he’d told me about her, this never would have happened. Thinking about that makes me sound even bitchier. But that realization doesn’t stop me from saying, “Well, maybe you should be a little more forthcoming. You never said you had a sister."

"Right, because that should be my intro. ‘Hi, I'm David, I own a bar, and have a sister I've been raising for the past 5 years.’ That's not going to raise any questions at all," he says sarcastically while rolling his eyes.

"Raising?" I can't hide my confusion. She's his sister, why is he raising her? And how old is she?

He sighs, "See what I mean? Yes, raising. Our parents died when she was 16 and I was 27. Jeremy" he nods at the guy next to us, "and I moved back to Nashville to take care of her. Our grandparents are in Florida and North Carolina, so to be with them she would have had to leave her whole life behind. After everything she'd lost, I couldn't take that away too, so I came back and have been taking care of her ever since."

I can't believe he did that. He was a single guy, living on his own, and he chose to move back to his hometown and take care of his sister? "I'm so sorry. That must've been such a difficult choice to make."

He shrugs, then glares at me again. "There was never a choice. She's my baby sister."

After that statement, he turns on his heel and walks off. I'm beginning to think I've completely misjudged this guy.

About the Author

1472832_264185337076234_1706249932_n I am a 32 year old wife and working mom to 3 boys, ages 15, 13, and 8! After spending the first half of my life in a small town outside of Philadelphia, PA, my parents moved my brother and I to another small town outside of Greensboro, NC. I moved to Hickory, NC after marrying my husband. We dated a total of three months before getting married, and we’d known each other for a total of six! People thought we were crazy, but 2014 marks our 10 year anniversary, so it obviously worked out!

I’ve always been a huge book lover, even though I hated doing book reports in school! I could never figure out the main idea, but I could quote the book word for word. Back in 2012, I found Fifty Shades, and after staying up all night one Friday to read all three books, I was hooked! I started a book blog, and kept reading everything I could. Then, I found Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines, and couldn’t stop reading. My husband told me that I should write my own book since I was spending so much on Kindle books – by June, I’d read over 500! – and after blowing him off for a few months, I decided to try to write the story I kept seeing in my head.

I had an idea for a story about a girl who’d been raised by her brother, but when I started writing, the brother of the main female kept taking over, to the point I was writing things in his POV instead of hers, so I shelved it, and started writing Save Me From Myself instead. I finally told a few fellow book bloggers about my story, and they started encouraging me to finish it, so here we are! It’s been an absolutely insane ride, and I can’t wait to share these characters with everyone!

Editorial: What is NA?

***This is my own personal opinion and may not necessarily reflect the opinions of my co-bloggers.***

I've begun to wonder if NA hasn't taken off in an entirely different direction than it was in the beginning. Not necessarily in a good way, either. Some of the very first NA books I read were Slammed, Beautiful Disaster, Easy, etc. They were beautifully written books, and yes, there was some sex, but the books weren't just written with sex scenes for the sake of writing about sex.

I think initially that NA was like YA, only grown up a little bit and there was more freedom to write about sex. Somewhere along the line, this got confused to mean that NA HAD TO HAVE sex in order to be labeled as NA. Like YA -- NA books are books written about age specific heroes and heroines. NA including ages 18-26 (? not entirely sure on the exact age bracket.)

I've started to get a little uncomfortable with some of the cover reveals lately. I also don't like to post some of the excerpts that contain graphic and/or explicit language. And by graphic/explicit, I'm referring to dropping the "F Bomb" repeatedly, or speaking in slang terms about various parts of the anatomy and the colorful things they want to do, or doing with said parts.

We do a lot of cover reveals, book blitzes, and blog tours here at She Reads New Adult, and if, in the future, I deem the material more explicit than I care to post on the blog, I won't post it. I don't have the "warning" disclaimer on this blog, nor do I want to start.

I'm certainly no prude...but I think NA needs to be clearly defined as a genre (like YA) that is written with age specific characters and not about how many times and ways within 300+ pages the hero and heroine can do the nasty.

What do you think?
