I can’t believe this was a real official poster for Threshold Entertainment’s Foodfight! (2012)

These drawings look better than the actual movie, even taking the cat lady’s cold dead eyes into account.

queermediarepresentation:

What do a trans girl, a gay boy, a Jewish girl, her half-Japanese boyfriend, their afro-latino friend, and his bisexual cousin have in common? They’re all total nerds who want to spend a peaceful spring break absorbing the culture of San Diego. Do they accomplish this goal? Nope!

In A Sinner in San Diego—the first of four Spring Break Sleuths adventures—our six intrepid freshmen discover that a rare fish has been stolen from the Girard Museum and Aquarium, and...

“She’s not stupid. She’s just out of her tree, which I will admit has a lot in common with stupidity, but you don’t get to work for a museum like the Girard without the ability to

Jimmy Kane in A Sinner in San Diego

Jimmy is a respected ichthyologist working for a museum in San Diego. He also has a pretty weak alibi for the night a rare fish—one that he discovered—was stolen from the museum’s collection room. Does Dr. Kane know more than he’s letting on? F...

My sister draws a lot (I’ve posted some of her stuff before—see here, for instance) and since we’re working on a kids’ book together (more on that later ^_^), she decided to invest in some new pens. They’re from Faber & Castell—I know nothing about art supplies, but apparently they’re supposed to be good and she seems to like them.

So anyway, the pens arrive and she opens the box and looks at all the colors. One of them was THIS.

Looks like a regula...

“While newspapers and televisiontalk about the lives of celebrities, the chief of the Kayapo tribe received the worst news of his life: Dilma, “The new president of Brazil, has given approval to build a huge hydroelectric plant (the third largest in the world). It is the death sentence for all the people near the river because the dam will flood 400,000 hectares of forest. More than 40,000 Indians will have to find another plac...

ultrafacts:

This German art student, Benjamin Harff, decided, for his exam at the Academy of Arts, to do something only slightly ambitious — to hand-illuminate and bind a copy of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Silmarillion. It took him six months of work. He hand-illuminated the text which had been printed on his home Canon inkjet printer. He worked with a binder to assemble the resulting book.
