I remmeber there was an arc in X-Men Evolution when all of the teen mutants got outed. Jean Grey was on the school basketball team for years, but as soon as her teammates found out she was a mutant, every time she made a shot during practice they accused her of using her powers to cheat. She eventually just had to quit the team to avoid harassment. Which could be an allegory for nothing.
