IF ONLY WE COULD REALIZE

By Praise Mutoko
From an isolated bench,
I watch children playing and laughing
together in the playground.
Pure innocence and love define them.
As the mother of one of them gives one a
maize cob,
Together they happily share it.
None of the children is selfish,
But rather they are all willing to give.
If only we could realize that we are children.
If only we could realize that we are under
the care of the same parent.
If only we could realize that the more we give
away,
The happier and fulfilled we become;
We would not fight for food and money.
We would not fight because we realize that
God is the giver of all.
We would not bruise and hurt each other
because of our different genders and race.
Rather we would realize that we are just the
same.
We would realize that our borders do not
define us,
Because we are all human,
Because we are all children under one
parent’s care,
His name is God Almighty, The Creator.

TREAT YOUR EMPLOYEES ACCORDINGLY

As a leader, it is crucial for you to understand your team. Without understanding your team, you will end up chasing away the hard workers who are committed because you have treated them the same way as the non-performing, negative-minded employees.

According to Douglas McGregor, there are two theories of motivation – Theory X and Theory Y. Theory X says most people do not like work, while Theory Y suggests that a few employees enjoy their work.
As a leader, you will most likely have both Theory X and Theory Y employees working with you. It goes without saying that you can not motivate both Theory X and Theory Y employees using the same ways of motivation. Neither should you reprimand or punish the different employees the same way.
Sometimes leaders punish all employees and threaten them the same way. For instance, you have a Theory X employee, who does not like work but likes the salary/wages. S/he comes late all the time and s/he does not care. A wise leader should be able to treat that employee accordingly, rather than shouting or passing negative remarks at all employees (including the Theory Y employees that are self-driven and always go the extra mile).
When you put Theory Y employees in the same bracket with Theory X, you are likely to lose the Theory Y employees to organizations where they are appreciated for their difference.

SO, DR. MUTOKO, YOU ARE A JACK OF ALL TRADES?

Today I decided to answer a major question that people ask me whenever they see me do a new project, or when I unleash my potential in a different dimension.
COMMON QUESTION FROM PEOPLE:
Dr Wilbert R. Mutoko, what do you do?
MY COMMON ANSWER TO THE PEOPLE:
I am a passionate lover of Jesus Christ, a loving husband to one wife Phillis Mutoko, and I am a caring father of three biological children and many spiritual children.
I am a passionate Academic specializing in Leadership, Strategy
& Entrepreneurship, Motivational Speaker, Leadership/Strategy Consultant, Trainer/Speaker on Financial Wellness, Family Builder, Gospel Artist, Blogger, Success Coach, Marriage Coach, Pastor, Actor, and Author.
Thus, all that I do goes to empower people in different ways. But it is one mandate.
COMMON RESPONSES:
Aah! You are a jack of all trades!
You have finished opportunities for others!
Why does one person do all these things?
What will others do?
How do you do all these things?
Where do you get time to do all these things?
CLARIFICATION:
I know that common advice says that you should stick to one thing. That is good advice for most people. But there are a few people in the world who have been blessed with the capacity to do a lot of things without crashing. Such people make money not just for themselves, but to share with others. Such people never get satisfied until they have touched more and more lives. They keep serving humanity until they die empty, having exhausted the gifts which God gave them. They know that gifts are not for them, but to benefit others. They will benefit in the process of being a blessing to others, as a pipe that transports water from point A to point B will never run dry. I am privileged to be one of those people that are multi-talented, and I am also a multi-tasker. My heartbeat is on how I can help others. As soon
as I wake up in the morning, I am always thinking, how can I help more people across the world.
Furthermore, to whom much is given, much shall be demanded. I am not competing with anyone. I compete with myself to finish what I was born to do. So, should everyone do. All of us have work to do to make the world better now and in future.
No one can finish opportunities for others. There is enough for everyone, if you are willing to pay the price. The world of opportunities is like an ocean. Even if you go and fetch water from the ocean using a tanker, there will still be enough for all.
According to the Oxford Dictionary, ‘jack of trades and master of none’ refers to a person who can do many different types of work but who is not necessarily very competent at any of them. Now, if you know me well, you are sure that I am not a jack of all trades and master of none. Whatever I do goes gold. I love excellence. I am an exceptional lecturer, I am an
international author, I excel as a Pastor and family builder, I am an excellent and eloquent speaker/trainer/coach, and our 8-track
Gospel album has been rated one of the best albums so far. Fans say that the album does not look like it is the first. Most fans say that the whole album has hit songs, thus they can not tell which song is the best. Is that what you call a jack of all trades and master of none? The fact that you did not know what other potentials and skills someone has should not cause you to underrate that person.
Antony Robbins controls about 33 companies, but I have never heard anyone call him jack of all trades.
Sir Richard Branson controls about 400 companies, but I have never heard anyone call him jack of all trades.
was a pastor, leadership consultant, musician, marriage counselor, motivational speaker, author, etc. but I have never heard anyone call him jack of all trades.
Why do you not call them jack of all trades?
What matters at the end of the day is your capacity to do divers things and do them exceptionally well.
Case closed. God bless you.

The book of each one of
us …
As we ink the pages of
life with our colours…
Sometimes a friend and
foe…
The strongest of its

At the end we all say goodbye…
It is hard to accept
when life gave you something or someone
And when that dear

Life is a weird test, but a complex classroom….

The Pinches of Life

The money in your pocket gives you assured security
more than the times when it leaves you to serve its
purpose,
and the anxiety of how to get more of it leaves you stagnant. **pinch**
Loneliness tends to hover over you even when you’re
around company
by family, even by friends, so much so
you feel like no one can help you
In Anything.
Even if you asked. **pinch**
Peer pressure leads you on a path of counterfeit
yet, your heart’s true desire of having at least one
soul who
understands you… is ignored
and self-eviction seems easier than nonacceptance. **pinch**
When you get pinched, it means you’re alive.
The pain is only but for a moment, but you embrace the
fact it was
there.
It is a steep climb to the top, but the view is great.
You can heal.
You will heal.

THE REAL DANGERS OF SOCIAL MEDIA

OFFLINE VERSUS OFFLINE BEHAVIOR
Have you ever wondered why people do not do or say certain things in normal day-to-day life, but they do or say those very things online?
I have been reflecting on how humans behave, including divulging secrets on social media, which they would not normally do offline. Therefore, in this article, I will be sharing with you why everyone on social media needs to understand that whatever they do or say on social media is as good as what they do or say offline. I hope this will help some people to be more careful next time when they are online.
POLICE WARNINGS ON RAPE, ROBBERY ETC!
It is amazing that one would not tell one’s neighbors about every little development in one’s life. However, one goes ahead to update statuses on social media informing the whole world of the latest developments. That includes the latest motor vehicles acquired, latest gadgets, latest trips abroad, etc. Have you ever asked yourself why you do not inform your neighbors? Yet, your neighbors and some of your haters will still read about what you are doing or saying on social media. The police have been warning people for some time on the dangers of posting carelessly on social media. For example, when you post that you are at Heathrow Airport, that is enough evidence for armed robbers, ritualists, and your haters that you are so far away from home. They can steal your assets, rape your children or abduct them because you have personally given them all the information about your absence. Worse still, maybe you once posted a photo of your child in school uniform with the background of your car and house. That photo is enough for the evil once to locate your child’s school, using a car similar to yours, and they go to steal at your house. After all, these days, some thieves have a way of looking at your photos and determine exactly where you stay. Thus, you need to reduce your craze for selfies and photos. At least check your surroundings before taking a photo.

STEALING OTHER PEOPLE’S PROPERTY
Furthermore, you naturally would not take your neighbor’s assets and use them without permission. But why do you find it okay to take other people’s posts, articles, images, videos, and art online and use without permission? It is important for you to realize that the same repercussions for offline, apply online. Life offline is almost the same as online.
EMPLOYERS ARE CHECKING YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA PROFILE
Additionally, employers, today check what you post on social media before hiring you. Your online profiles are like a CV. Furthermore, you can lose your job because of the way you carry yourself online. Thus, you need to behave responsibly whether offline or online.
BE WARNED!
Lastly, in today’s world, whatever you write on social media is as good as what you say verbally. You can be held responsible for what you re-tweeted, what you liked or commented in agreement to, or if you an administrator you can be answerable for what group members discuss in your group. The principles are the same just as offline. For example, if you are found in a group offline, discussing your boss or your neighbor, you will be answerable, is that not so? Why do you then assume that it is different online?
My conclusion is that we all need to be careful what we post, how we behave and respond to others online, the same way we do offline.

[image error]Jesus Christ once said, “Whatever you want others to do for you, do it first to others.” As a leader, you should not just expect people to like you, honor you, and support you. You must do good for your team before you expect the same from them.
Little things count
Many years ago, I worked with a leader who was highly focused and cared a lot about people. Her name was Mrs. Bright (not real name). During break-time, every staff member had access to free tea/coffee plus toasted bread. Most team members arrived at work at 730 am or earlier, probably before taking breakfast. You can imagine how it felt for a team member coming to work without eating, yet knowing that there was free breakfast, freely provided. It is not every organization that does this, but it goes a long way in empowering the team. Everyone likes working in a place where one feels at home.
Know your team
Mrs. Bright was also very good at understanding her team. She knew what to discuss with each employee per time. For example, on a Monday, she could greet me and ask me,
“How was Church yesterday Mr Mutoko? How are your wife and children?”
However, when she spoke with a different person, she would not ask the same questions. Depending on the team member’s interests, Mrs. Bright could ask something like, “How was the game for Manchester United yesterday? How did the team do?”
Then she would meet another team member and ask, “How is your mum feeling now? I know she hasn’t been well of late. Is she still in the hospital?”
Time Consciousness
Furthermore, Mrs. Bright was extremely time conscious. She never wasted her time, and she never wasted other people’s time. She was always in the office by 630 am. If she called for a meeting to take place from 8 am to 830 am; by 745 am she would be at the venue. Exactly 8 am, the meeting would start, and by 830 am the meeting would be over. She intentionally made sure not to exceed time. Rather, she would finish meetings slightly earlier than scheduled. As a leader, do you keep time, or you are one of those that lengthen meetings without a good reason?
Genuine leaders understand that respect is earned and can not be forced on people. The way you treat your team and the way you honor their time will determine how your team treats you. Are you a plus or minus to your team’s lives?

One downfall of some people that desire financial wellness is that they celebrate achievements for too long. However, throughout history, it has been proven that successful people are always on the move. They have long-term goals, for example, 10 years. Nevertheless, the long-term goals are measurable, say every two years or yearly. When milestones are achieved along the way, the leader and the team celebrate. But the question is how long should a leader take celebrating?
A celebration is a good motivator for the team. But if the leader and the team celebrate for too long, the comfort zone settles in and nobody gets inspired to move on to the next stage(s).
Thus, people who want perpetual financial wellness have learned that if they are to make it in the long run, they need to take short times celebrating and keep their eyes on the long-term goals. Probably this explains why great leaders keep breaking new grounds, while others are satisfied with small achievements and they dwell there.
How often do you celebrate? How long do you usually celebrate your achievements?

As long as you lead, crises will always come your way. Thus, as a leader you should not run away from crises, neither should you complain and grumble in a crisis.
One sign of great leaders is that they remain calm, but calculative and decisive in the midst of crisis.
How do you normally behave, act or react in a crisis?
