How to Follow Jesus? Step 4

 How to Follow Jesus?

Step 4: Believe in Him

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Understand a Believer puts their faith in the one they believe in by listening and responding.

Note: A Believer is a person who believes that a specified thing or someone is effective, with-out doubting.

How to Follow Jesus? Step 3

How to Follow Jesus?

Step 3: Listen to Him

While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him, I am well pleased. Listen to him." Matthew 17:5.

He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”

Luke 11:28

Note: Listen- means to listen and to take in what you heard.

Jesus says Matthew 7:24, Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

How to Follow Jesus? Step 2

How to Follow Jesus?
Step 2: Be a Person that Prays
One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray and spent the night praying to God. Luke 6:12.
Understand a follower does what a leader does.

How to Pray

Jesus said to us, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.” Luke 11:1-4

Note: Jesus taught, “When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men … but when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your father who is unseen.

How to Follow Jesus? Step 1

 How to Follow Jesus?

Step 1: Be Born Again

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. John 3:3.

Born Again- Means to become new. New Start

Notes: Repent and turn around by Christ. Become New by Abiding in Christ.

Following Jesus

Following Jesus

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. Matthew 16:24

Deny- Means to refuse and give up ways and admirations that are the opposite of Jesus Christ.

What does it mean to deny yourself in Matthew 16:24?

What self-denial does mean is that while we can have the desires of our heart, we are to deny our own way of achieving them and trust the Lord to do it His way.

Denying ourselves also means turning away from the ways of the “old self” and continually putting on our new self in Christ.

Help Is Good

Learn how to let people help you. Never let pride get in your way. It's better to have a servant then to have no food.

God's Love

God’s Love

What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Romans 8:31-32.

Do you understand what is being said?   __________

Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself.  Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.

Jesus is pleading for who? ______________

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love?________

Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?

(As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:31-39.

This why it is said For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16.

When Disappointments Come Remember

When disappointments come remember to trust God.In Romans 4:17. This is what the Scriptures mean when God told him, "I have made you the father of many nations." This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing.https://crosssides.blogspot.com/
