“A Glimmer of Hope”
A Glimmer of Hope
I began this blog for the use of marketing my books and getting to know people around the world. Don’t get me wrong, I always wanted my writings to make a profound difference in someone’s life. That is the desire of many Authors who want to make the world a better place.
I began posting my poems which are published in my first book and soon after began receiving emails with from strangers, sharing their personal stories: Which were related to the poem I posted. My heart-felt emotions compelled me to respond to their emails and offer comfort or just be someone who would listen.
WE as a people (in whole) get so wrapped up with our own lives that we often fail to look around and see there are people out there who need to be heard, to feel compassion, to know they are of value, but we don’t see, or not enough.
Years ago I overcame a terrible ordeal, too horrific to share with friends and family for some time. That incident left me searching, anywhere for some “Glimmer of Hope” that I could find someone to listen and understand my pain; so I began to write.
I am asking my friends, followers, readers, to step up to a challenge, a new way of acting. Reach out whenever and where-ever you can. Give when you see something is needed, listen more, observe the quiet, and protect those who are weak.
Offer a Glimmer of Hope, where there was none before.
I love You All and God Bless, Barb

“Celtic Women”
Celtic Women
Ladies of Scottish decent
Singing praise of their land
Traveling the globe to share what Celtic meant
You have to listen to understand
Singing in a sweet, soft melody
Touching the hearts of many
Angelic songs, sounding as a rhapsody
Unappreciative of their work, there are not any
Oh Scotland, history through the ages
Celtic women moving in spirit and grace
Sharing with the world their legacy in stages
Celtic women, their dedication we should embrace

Long Past Due "Lost Love"
Let us “TAKE BACK–In God We Trust & One Nation UNDER GOD”
Reblogged from Barbara C Rowe Author:
I wanted to say something wise and special to you; Something to make you think and say some serious prayers. There are so many who sacrifice for our freedom and liberties. Our nation was founded UNDER GOD, that this nation would be as ONE. It is not. Our Children are fighting for us, yet many of our leaders are not. You Pick which ones, for there is a large selection to choose from.
“Flying High”
Flying High
When there are days that are too long and boring
Little projects that can’t keep you busy
And you wish to be somewhere else
Just imagine yourself as an eagle
Flying High
People pass you by in a state of disinterest
Family members are busy in their own world
Friends seem to be few and insincere
Think of the eagle, which sees everything
Flying High
You dream of faraway places
Knowing you’ll never have the opportunity to see
Imagining how exciting it would be
When you think of yourself as an eagle
Flying High
When your years grow long
And you’re close to moving on to a better place
Standing on your belief that heaven is near
Imagine the angels lifting you up
And
Flying High

Cherishing What You Have
My Dear Friends,
We, so often wonder, “Is this it?”, instead of saying thanks for what we have at this moment. Then, maybe, for some God awful reason, we loose what we have. Then all of a sudden, we realize we had it All, from the start. Grasp each moment, embrace your loved ones and ,PLEASE, don’t hold on to anger. It wastes so much time. I love you all. Have an awesome day. Barb

“Oh, God Of Comfort”
Oh, God Of Comfort
Oh, God of comfort
Did You hear me last night
when darkness fell upon my face?
Did You see when I reached my hands up
to be held in comfort by You?
Do you know how much you mean to me?
O, God of Comfort, Sole Provider and Redeemer,
lift me up out of this dark place.
Allow me to grow in faith and be of worth.
Lay Your comforting hand on me.
Did You see what wrong I did, in spite of Your Word?
Did You hear the words of disgrace I spoke in vain?
Can You forgive me for my weakness to stand strong?
Lord, please never leave me, and forgive me.
Do You see what my future will bring?
Is there a wonderful blessing out there
just beyond the horizon for me?
Lord, help me become a woman of faith and truth.
Did You hear me last night
when darkness fell upon my face?
Did You see me when I reached my hands up
to be held in comfort by You?
Do you know how much You mean to me?

Something to Share….”The Reason Behind”
I tell this story for you to understand why I have written such a dark side to my life, then to overcome and be so unbelievably happy. I have a husband whom most would only dream of, three healthy children and 5 healthy grandchildren. I am not ashamed to say I have been married several times and experienced the death of a spouse and divorce. I loved them all. I have had special men in my life, each playing their part in making me who I am today and I don’t begrudge any one of them for misunderstanding’s, or just changing. I had parents, but in their day and time, the government did not help women with small children as they do now, so they each made their choices. I have been raised by many different people and even lived in an orphanage for a year and a half. Most the children there were from broken homes, not bad parents. As I became older, I realized that our perception of a “live happily ever after” does not accommodate reality. I was loved by all that cared for me. During the struggle to find my true self, which was a very long process, I did not have the guidance on spiritual matters, until late in my life: For this reason, I saw a reason to try to fill in the gaps with my stories and poetry, so that many would not feel they were alone. As a child, there were not as many books for children to find answers or to inspire to ask questions. I have 2 very precious areas of concern; one being the innocence of our youth and how to preserve it as long as we can and to recognize our elders for their sacrifices and their wisdom. Our country is quick to come to rally for children in need, but unfortunately, find our elders a burden to society. They wonder? Where can we put them so we won’t be inconvenienced, or who will take care of them? My answer and Plea is : We will and should, for they cared for us. Here our nation is so far advanced than some others, yet there are countries that cherish and even find holy, their elders. Have we become so callous as human beings? I don’t think so; we just need to be reminded, every now and then. Hope you have a wonderful week and God Bless you all, Barb

“Peaceful Thoughts”
Peaceful Thoughts
I close my eyes as music plays
Alone in my thoughts as others sleep
Contemplating the joy in living out my days
Holding on to the peace I wish to forever keep
It is my choice to be alone in my dreams
Riding in a state of calm on the clouds
Yet the thought fades, or so it seems
Quiet up high above; down low, it is so loud
Dreams are our desires to achieve something good
Hoping God’s plan is part of it
He knows our thoughts, or so I’ve understood
But I get impatient at times, I admit
Jesus, will You walk close by my side
Keeping me safe from harm’s way
In our Father’s commandments, I will abide
So tonight I’ll ask for my dreams to come true when I pray
