His contributions to our family have definitely called for some adjustments (there are some nights when Cindy doesn't get a wink of solid sleep, and my writing time took some big hits until I figured out a new schedule). But I couldn't have asked for a cooler, sweeter, take-no-static kind of kid...

I found this while doing a little housecleaning in preparation for my son's upcoming second birthday party (for those of you who want to send gifts, he likes pre-orders of The Sixth Gun). Pop! Goes My Heart … and My Pride

You know how you sometimes get a song stuck in your head? Well, today I had this song (from the movie Music and Lyrics) stuck on repeat in my skull.

 

Not just the song … I had the dance stuck in my head. And as I went from the 2nd floor (where the snack machine is) to the fifth floor (where my office is), the elevator became my own personal dance floor, complete with my badly-crooned lyrics and a bag of chips as a tambourine.
