Robot Sixth Gun | Six Nostalgic Dream Projects
Want to get a peek at some of the projects I wish I could write? As part of the Robot Sixth Gun event, I've listed a few of the comic books I'd be writing in a perfect world. Can you say Dr. Druid/Man-Thing Team-up?

Countless Haints (Part 4)
Everywhere. Spattered across the thick carpet of pine straw and dead leaves. Glistening upon a gray-barked tree trunk. Dripping from a dozen or more thorns.
The boy left a spattered trail of his own blood through the briars.
"You all right?" Madi cried.
She followed, her eyes tracing the bloody track. She moved even more slowly. She no longer heard the boy, but something rustled up ahead. She wondered if the thickets in this place were moving of their own accord and dark thoughts, like t...

Robot Sixth Gun Shelf Porn
I'm letting my geek flag fly in this week's edition of Robot 6's Show Us Your Shelf Porn! Check it out for glimpse of the place where I do my damage and plot the slow corruption of mankind … and play with Micronauts! Where else would Shogun Warriors and the Cthulhu Mythos blend so seamlessly?

Countless Haints (Part 3)
The woods stretched away from the farm and into forever.
Madi grabbed a crooked switch from the ground and swatted at weeds and spider webs as she followed the pine straw-carpeted trail. Trees—mostly pines, but oaks and black walnut and white ash, too—loomed on either side of the path, taller even than the silent, lightning-scarred sentinel upon the hill. She wondered if the blighted oak had once been part of the forest, separated from its ilk when the farm was raised. If the oak had not...

The Sixth Gun #3
The third issue of The Sixth Gun appeared in the newest issue of Previews today. I absolutely LOVE the cover for this one.

Six evil guns.
Four killers.
One madwoman.
And an undead Confederate General.
How did General Hume and his cutthroats come into possession of the guns? Their story—as well as a dark secret Drake would rather keep hidden—is revealed as a deadly trap is sprung on forbidden land.

Countless Haints (Part 2)
Madrigal dreamed of the tree upon the hill.
Shrouded in runaway scuppernong vines, the tall, grey oak cast its bent shadow across the valley and scratched with spindly branches at the sky. Years ago, or so Madi had been told, the oak had been struck by lightning during one of the summer squalls that blew in from the east. The tree had not grown an inch since, and a rotting hollow now yawned in the trunk. The cavity had been filled to keep the blight from spreading, but the effort had...
Newsarama and The Sixth Gun
I sat down to talk about The Sixth Gun with David Pepose from Newsarama. Come to find out, David only recently moved away from St. Louis. Small world! Next time he's in town, we're gonna hit Blueberry Hill. This was a challenging interview for me, because I had to play things close to the vest in order to avoid spoiling anything. Check it out for yourself and see how I did.

Robot Sixth Gun | What Am I Reading
As part of the Robot Sixth Gun event, Brian and I were guests on the Robot 6 "What Are You Reading" feature. I always feel funny about rambling about what I'm reading currently, because it feels very random to me. But, check out the article to see what books came to mind this time around!

Countless Haints (Part 1)
Her earliest memories were of the taste of freshly turned earth and the bleating of goats.

"Pa?" Madrigal asked. "You know what tomorrow is, don't you?"
"Of course." Her father settled back in the creaking chair and placed his opened Bible upon his knee to hold his place. He drew deep on his pipe, and the sweet-smelling smoke plumed around his bald, sun-spotted head. "Can't say as I'd rightly forget."
Madi sat upon the hardwood floor, her legs drawn up close, her chin resting upon her k...
