Beasts of Burden: Animal Rites
The hardcover collection ships this Wednesday. It's good. It's $20.
Buy it. Read it. Love it.
I'm hearing that some east coast shops might not get it until the following week. Don't blame me. It seems to be a surprise to the folks at DHC. Hopefully it isn't true -- although I'm afraid -- afraid it might actually be true! Oh, hold me! I'm so frightened!
So, yeah, check with your shop this week if you're planning a trip to pick the book up. Or...y'know, some other comics. Yeah. Those things.

Re: The Beasts of Burden Hardcover
I was under the impression that the Beasts of Burden collection was supposed to ship this week, but apparently it was always supposed to ship on the 23rd (although I swear the 16th was bandied about on sites and in Previews, etc, and I was told the 16th, an...whatever). Hopefully it will ship on the 23rd, but there's a possibility it might ship on the 30th because of a shipping hold up of some sort. I'm waiting to hear an update on it, but for the time being, let's think good thoughts about i...

Not Really A Heroes Con Report, Really...
Heroes Con was a fantastic time that I would not take back but three comic events in roughly a month, two of which involved the family, has proven to be not quite the awesome idea I thought it would be back when I agreed to attend them. Work and schedule has suffered something fierce (I had no idea I'd be working on a Hellboy/Beasts of Burden script when I signed up) mail is piled up, business is backed up, we're overwhelmed. I'm late on two deadlines, both of which are keeping me chained t...

Haven't Posted Dead-Tired In A While...
I've been chained to the board for the past week and a half or so, maybe longer -- my sense of time is bad enough at the best of times but when I'm pulling marathon shifts I really lose track of...pretty much everything. Didn't realize this was Memorial Day weekend until yesterday. or I knew and forgot. Equally bad, I guess.
So, I've basically been drawing Simpsons pages, and I've been overloading them, purposely, although I'm adding too much stuff on top of what's in the script and I'm movin...

Books For Sale
We've put up some more stuff on eBay you might find interesting, some books we're parting with, including a rare copy of Toth By Design (the Alex Toth animation/cartooning/storyboard tome stuffed with lovely Toth art and ludicrous editorializing by the hack who slapped the book together), a recently published Kirby/Lee Thor hardcover reprint, three Alex Raymond Flash Gordon strip collections, an Ivan Brunetti lot (Schizo 1-3, inc. the original Antarctic first printing of #1, the original Mise...

Art For Sale
FYI - We've put some more HOF art up on eBay, including a few things we've never made available before, animation work, etc.
Up for grabs is a Milk and Cheese strip, some Super Martian Robot Girl/Yo Gabba Gabba! production art and roughs, several Brotherhood of Evil Mutant roughs I did to prep for a commission, Star Wars illos from Mad Magazine, several Welcome to Eltingville production drawings/roughs, and a Vroom Socko page. All starting pretty cheap, save for the M&C page.

News Flash USA: Beasts of Burden - Wednesday Comics - CCS
Received my comp copies of the Wednesday Comics collection from DC earlier today, which features the one-page Plastic Man file strip I wrote and the great Stephen DeStefano drew. I think the strip looks nifty. The collection is big, nicely put-together, people should like it., Except for the gripesters. .
Even more exciting -- for me, at least -- Scott Allie at Dark Horse Comics let us know via Twitter than he's received copies of the Beasts of Burden: Animal Rites hardcover collection today...

A Little More TCAF Before Heading Out To CCS
Here's a photo of a TCAF sketch I drew of the HOF's favorite Archie character:
.
Here's a short interview I did for The National Post pre-TCAF. It has a joke or two.
A photo of me from the show. A photo of Sarah and I from the show where I seem to be thinking, "Can you believe a schmuck like me got a swell gal like this?". I look really goofy here but for some reason it doesn't bother me like it usually does. I still really don't like having my picture tkane, makes me uncomfortable.
