I LOVE L.A.!~~~ from Janie’s diary
Wow, this sure isn’t Greenwood, Louisiana anymore. Los Angeles is such a huge city. The house me and Daniel have is awesome. It’s not one of those huge Orange County mansions I’ve seen on TV, but it’s just right for me and him. There’s like a secret hidiing place up in the attic. Me and Daniel have nicknamed this spot “the rabbit hole” like out of Alice in Wonderland. Daniel is going to fix “the rabbit hole” up so it’ll be like a small addition to the house. I think it’ll be a great place to retreat to and get some privacy.
I start my new job at the karaoke club tomorrow night. I’m a bit nervous. These people out here are so different than what I am use to. However, the upside is they know nothing about me. They know nothing of my past and the weirdness of me. I’d rather not have anyone here in Cali knowing all that occurred in Louisiana.
I am super excited about working at the club. I get the chance to sing and according to Daniel I have a pretty good voice. I think it’s just average. Of course, he’ll be gone quite a bit for this job so I’ll be alone a lot. At least I’ll be busy…. Oh and maybe I’ll meet a rich and handosme guy that’ll sweep me off my feet!

We’ll soon be Californians – From the diary of Daniel Valentine
Well Anthony held true on his deal. Me and Janie are headed to LA in the morning. The house we’ll be staying in is all set for us. I really hope this turns out to be the great opportunity it sounds like it is. I know this isn’t a job to be taken lightly, but it gets us out of Greenwood. Now that I’m in the family there’s no going back. It’s not like I can say oh hey I changed my mind. This is a lifetime job; or so I think it is.
Now if I can keep Janie in line and from asking a hundred questions. I love my baby sister, but sometimes she’s a pain in the ass. She’s going to love LA. I already have it planned to have her working at the club Anthony owns. She needs to make her own money at an honest living; not like me. I want the best for her; she deserves it.
Janie deserves the family she’s always dreamed of. The one our parents never gave us. I just hope Janie can get her head straight and not get into the nightlife so much in LA. She can sing pretty damn good. Maybe I can talk her into making her talent more than hobby. Yeah, knowing my sis I doubt that seriously! She can be as stubborn as she can be mean! She can be quite the handful! HAHA yeah she’ll make someone a hell of a wife someday, if they don’t string her up first!

Ok so here is quirky little website I came across that offers free promotion for books and authors. I am not really sure how this works but figured I would give it a try. So far, I’ve not had anyone come to me and say… hey I seen your site on askdavid.com; but then again I’ve not had anyone come to me and say I seen you on FB or Twitter either. So anyway, I get an email from them offering a way to link my blog with their website for free. Wow, I’m super excited! Daniel just told me we’re moving to LA. As in LOS ANGELES! I’ll be so freaking happy to get out of Greenwood. Ever since mom and dad died I get treated like I’ve got the black plague. I didn’t do what they accuse me of. I wasn’t even in the house. Oh well, these people want to think I am some kind of witch or something let them. I can’t help it because I was cursed with this weirdness.
Anyway enough about that… WE ARE WESTWARD BOUND! Daniel’s new job is transferring him and he’s taking me with him. I am so glad… I’d go crazy missing him if he didn’t. We may have our differences sometimes, but my big brother is my hero. I don’t know what I’d do without him. He says we have a house waiting on us; and that things are going to be so much better than they are here. I really hope so. A new life in a different place would do us some good.
I just wish he’d tell me more about this job. I kind of get worried with all his secretiveness. We rarely keep secrets but he’s really tight lipped about this. Oh well, I know how he is and I know when he feels like the time is right he’ll tell me. If I try to pry it out of him he’ll only get mad and then it’ll be even longer before I’m told anything. Well I got to get my stuff packed up and getting ready for the flight! I can’t believe it…. I’M GOING TO LA BITCHES!!

Valentine/Petrilo Character Blog
So this is an idea that was thought of after the reaction I have received about the books. Thanks to a good friend (at Crimson Flower Reviews and Randomness) who suggested I make a blog in the voice of the characters. I think this is an ingenious idea! So many of the readers of this series have told me they became emotionally attached and actually care for the characters.
Therefore, each week starting in September I will post something from one of the characters. These blogs will in some way relate to the books. Of course, the first initial posts will be connected to the first book Looking Through Blind Eyes and I will make my way through the books. Please feel free to comment on any of the posts or ask questions. Just keep in mind that these posts are written as the characters of the books.
