"Reyna looked at Percy without much hope. 'You do have a plan?' Percy wanted to step forward bravely and say, No, I don’t!"
You know how you go to the shoppe, any shoppe, and you are walking about, minding your own business, just looking to pass time? And the workers come out of the woodwork and ask, "Do you need help?" Until you feel like they are really saying, "Stop messing with everything! Buy something or get out!" This happens to me a lot. Then I go into shoppes with the intention of buying something or asking for help...and suddenly all the workers have gone on holiday. Then I get the overpowering urge to look under counters and into back rooms for them.
This happened to me today. I went to the shoppe with one intention, finding a computer program which would allow me to crop a person out of one picture and paste him into another...and the shoppe was DEAD. I kept looking over the aisles to see if anyone was lurking behind them. "I - SEEEEE - YOU!"
Needless to say, I didn't learn if there was such a program and I almost killed mine today for not doing said crop. All it can do is squares...yeah, real helpful.
Now I'm back to my cover stalking. I went to the bookstore and crawled all over the young adult part, yanking books out, eyeing covers, and putting them back. I'm surprised no one threw me out. And did I learn anything during my escapade? Sure! I learned there are a LOT of vampire books out...and most of the people on the front look dead...oh wait...vampires are dead, aren't they? Or MOSTLY dead.
So, unless I want the chap on the cover looking pasty and white - which I can do - I'm still at a loss. Basically, I KNOW what I want. I can SEE it. But for the life of me I can't seem to get it on paper. (I just had an image of me taking my brain out and rolling it over paper to see if I can get the cover off...*Dashes off to look for a screw driver*) Wouldn't you know it...brains aren't held in with screws.
Do any of you know the name of a program which will do what I want? I've seen it done before, but everyone is being very secretive as to what said program might be called. I thought authors were...well...authors, not spies. OH! I bet the program does spy work! I wonder if I can break into SHIELD with it...
Oh yes, I forgot. Sorry about the bloopers looking drunk. I can promise you, William is NOT a wobbly camera holder. I've no clue what happened with the bloopers but I'm working on mending it...or at least hoping to keep it from happening to the trailer. "If it doesn't behave I shall be very put out."
Right now I'm in the middle of, well, the cover - bet you didn't see that one coming. Do you know how hard it is to pin down cover helpers?! "Hey you! Let me nail your foot to the floor so I can keep your attention for a minute!" I think if the world keeps speeding up we are going to spontaneously combust. I've still every intention of getting the cover out by the first, even if I have to nab a random stranger from off the street and force him into my leather jacket. *Eyes random strangers*
I've put the book up until the first. I will not read it, letting it sit and simmer after it's last edit. Meanwhile, I am trying to figure the publishing out so I won't be staying up until 7 in the morning on December 14th trying to get the book out. I will have to go into more details on this later.
Now I am going, because I'm supposed to be doing something, I just don't know what. *Ponders* Oh yes! *Chases down Random Stranger*
ALLONS-Y!*** Do any of you know of a good picture editing program? Do you have any questions about the characters, John, the book, or me you would like to be answered? Are you a Random Stranger?

"Everyone hates me but the horse."
I've mentioned my actors a lot, but I never given them justice. What they did to help me, it still makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
I don't even remember how it happened. I think I said something about needing help making a trailer, and the next thing I knew we were up in the mountains, they dressing up in my costumes which were too small for most of them. So here I am, wanting to give them the credit they deserve.
First off, my costume things, most of it is girl stuff. Jackets, scarfs, gloves. And for the boys, it was all too small. But they bravely donned it, laughing when their wrists stuck out past the sleeves. They didn't even complain when they had to throw on jackets and coats and boots and hats even though it was hot the days we filmed. (We caught some of the hottest days this summer. And there weren't many.)
Also, they gave up a Saturday for me. Now, not many people give up their Saturdays, especially to put on a girl's clothing and stand in front of a camera, hoping no one drove by and saw them. They deserve an award for this alone.
There is one though who I think deserves a medal. Here is how it happened...
Kirk. All of you know Kirk, right? The kilt wearing Scot? Okay, well, during our first filming I began to think how nice it would be to have Kirk in the trailer. It would help with some things. But there was the kilt. I didn't think any of the boys would willingly put on a kilt. However, on learning of Kirk, one of the girls dared one of the boys into wearing the kilt. (The boy who plays Peter.) He agreed to it, because she dared him. Problem one, none of us owned a kilt.
By the time the second filming rolled around I knew I was pretty much done for. I had a plan...rather a skirt. A plaid skirt which looks kind of like a kilt. Problem two, the skirt was mine and I'm a small person. The boy who plays Peter, there was no way he could get into it. Problem three, would ANY of the boys willingly put on my skirt?
When I met them at the site I presented my problem and said something like, "We don't need Kirk. It would be easier with him, but if none of you wants to do this it is okay." To my surprise, one of them was brave enough. Yes, that's right. He wore my skirt, and did his best to hold his head high with manly, Scottish pride. Kirk would be proud. And there it is, the story behind the...lack of the kilt. Before we film again, I am planning on buying a kilt.
Anyways, this trailer wouldn't be possible without my amazing actors. And without William Knisley who has a knack for directing. I owe them a huge thanks.
Also, I've no clue who Donny Osmond is, but when I showed the actors the bloopers their parents almost had a heart attack. But, I did my research. The CD says he sings the song, so...that's why his name is on there. Just, don't go having heart attacks on me.
I've more behind-the-scene stories...like the filming we did in the trees of certain someones not being able to walk...if you want to hear them, feel free to ask.
Lastly, I was short on actors so a lot of them had to double up. Or take on different roles. (We used what we had.)
I hope you enjoy! Cover pictures, and author pictures, hopefully coming soon!
More Percy Jackson book quotes. I'm going to keep it up till I have the new book, so get used to it.

"Then you can relish the look of surprise on my face."
I'm kind of scared to show you all my expression right now because you're going to start thinking I do, indeed, look like Moriarty. But...I got onto my site...and I kind of did this...
Eyeballs and all.
Why, you might ask. Um...because, I made 50 followers! And so now my jaw is about to become unhinged.
Now I don't think I can sound all, clever and professional because I'm kind of in a delightful daze. But....here's a go.
To celebrate my 50th follower, and to say thanks to every one of you...I am going to be releasing the bloopers trailer tomorrow instead of next week.
I hope this will be a fun way to celebrate, one all of you will find fun.
So, be sure and come back tomorrow. Right now...I'll be over here, trying to keep my eyes in my head.

I showed him Riptide, and explained how it turned from a pen into a sword just by uncapping it. "Cool! Does it ever run out of ink?"
Hello! I'm alive! Bet you weren't expecting that, were you? Well, I survived trailer making...mostly. I'm not done yet...so maybe I will not live through it, but I've lasted this long, which is a start. Today I finished putting the bloopers together and worked on a new design for the trailer. Now I have to pick which I like better, then polish said one up. I'm considering an early retirement from trailer making. They didn't mention this stuff when they said, "Being an author is fun! You get to write all the time!"
Not that I'm complaining. It has been fun, until my computer gets board and skips the videos around just to confuse me.
Moving on though. I've two interviews set up, which will be coming later on. And I was asked some questions, which I will answer now. Then I will probably tackle the trailer until I fall asleep.
The first question was asked by both MISS MELODY and ABBEY. They wanted to see the very first notes I had for the book. I have quite a few (not to mention notes from the very first draft I wrote - if anyone would like to see those let me know.) So I will spread the notes out during the next few posts.
Okay, so the first ones I took were on Peter...surprise. Originally he was supposed to be 20, his nick name was Wells...points to whoever can guess why! (There is a connection between it and Steampunk, kind of.) The most surprising things I found, which made me laugh, was his height. Once upon a time he was 6' 2". He's kind of, shrunk a lot since then. Now he is 5' 3" I believe...or is it 5' 2"? Peter was framed for murder in the original...I'm not even sure all this made it into a draft. It was the day he was about to be promoted. I know I at least wrote this scene...I might still have it too. After he ran away from the Base, he became the rebel leader of a band of pirates. And, lastly, he once had a much younger sister named Irene. She made it through half of the first draft, then I realized she was just getting in the way, so I left her out of the second draft. (I feel kind of bad for that.)
Now, moving on to question two. I think someone wanted me to tell about the cover for Lisbeth's Choice. I could be wrong...I was half asleep while writing these questions down last night and sick with the flu. If someone did ask then I am sorry I cannot find your comment...but thank you for your question. And if it is just the disillusioned of my half-asleep, medicine drugged, dyslexic brain, then....you get the answer anyways.
So, William Knisley, my own personal photographer, helped with the cover. (He filmed the trailer, I've mentioned him before. Sadly, he doesn't have a site up so I can't link to him. But trust me, he's amazing.) Anyhow, the girl in the cover is a friend of mine who didn't wish her name given out. But, she is the brave soul who willing woke up early on a cold Saturday morning to stand outside, all dressed up, and pose while William snapped pictures. (And you wonder why I don't have many friends. They run away in fear of what I will ask them to do next.) When I asked my friend if she would help I said something like, "It is too bad it hasn't snowed yet since the story takes place at Christmas." Then, I woke up Saturday morning to a light dusting of snow on the ground. When we got to the park it began to snow beautifully, then when we left, it stopped. 8-D So, that is kind of the story behind it. I'm not sure if that is the answer you were looking for, *Looks at both commentor and brain.* If you want more, feel free to ask 8-D Unless your my brain, then just cork it.
And, last question, asked by JESSICA. This one is for John, and she wants to know what role he has in the creation of the book. I will let him answer. Hi! I'm John. I saw your blog. You have a cat, which means you like pets, which means I like you. Do you like hedgehogs? Jack says you want to know what role I have in the book creation...I don't know what that means but she says it means what I do while she writes. I get board a lot. She used to take me on long walks, now she plays with movies and songs and it is boring. But I try and help her. I tell her when something is funny looking. Like her hair. And I tell her I'm hungry, she forgets to eat until I remind her to feed me. I give her chocolate when she is sad about something in her book and I make her watch movies when she is tired. She says I'm a good John because I look after her like the John I was named after looks after his Sherlock. I still don't know who I am named after but she promised to show me soon. I hope so. Now she says I have to go to bed. Good night.
Good night, John. So, I guess that is it for this post. If you have more questions, send them in 8-)

"I used to rule the world, see the fear in my enemy's eyes."
To everyone who bought my short story on the Eighth.
Some mistakes were found in the story. I've corrected them, sorry I missed them...I guess the whole, edit on your own really doesn't work too well. Anyhow, I've got them fixed and the story uploaded again. I believe if you bought the story you can re-download it for free. If not, and you want the story with the fixed mistakes, let me know and I will make a special code or something so you can get it without having to pay again.
Quote is from a song...not sure of the title, even though I listen to it a lot.
Don't forget to send in questions if you have any 8-) I'm making a list of them.

"If we dissolve without a trace would the real world even care?"
So, here I am, nearing the book's publication. And I realized I have NO CLUE what to do. So, I sat down, pulled out a calender - I don't like calenders - and charted out everything I needed. Now, for you all, I am putting up a dreaded schedule. I will also be posting this on a page so it can be found during the next two months.
So, here we go. This will be my lead up to the book's release. Now, this is if all goes as planned. Things might come up and all that, but I'm going to work hard to stick to this.
Lisbeth's Choice is already out and I hope you are all enjoying it. I'm doing the typical author thing. Giggling and wringing my hands. All excited and nervous all at once. Mostly because this is the first in my lead up to the book's release.
But here are the others.
October 19th: Bloopers/ Behind-the-Scenes of the trailer.
November 1st: Book Cover Revealed!
November 5th: Another prequel short story. Title reveal coming later.
November 14th: The trailer!!
November 23rd, 30th, and December 7th: Sneak peeks at three of the pictures which will appear in the book!
December 3rd Last prequel short story release.
December 14th: Release of Haphazardly Implausible!
This list will be left up HERE/ RELEASE DATES! in case you want to look over it later.
Then, after it is out, I will be taking the rest of the month off to rest and enjoy the holidays. I mean, aside from probably doing some posts and marketing things.
All in all, this will make for a very busy two months for me. BUT it will also give time for other things. I got a good many requests for interviews.
My thoughts on interviews are as follows. Some asked for a behind-the-story type post. So, here is my plan. I am going to take your questions. Anything you want to know about the book, characters, or even me you can send to me through comments or emails. I will answer them all and then put them in a post. As for interviews. Many of you asked for these. I'm thinking I will let anyone who wants to hold the interview. Therefore, if you wish to interview the characters, or even me, you need to email me or comment. I will mark you down on my calender, giving you one of the open Fridays. You can email your interview to me, jacklewisbaillot@gmail.com, I will answer everything in it, or the characters will, and I will send it back to you and then post it. If you wish to interview a character just mention in the email which one you want. (I think by now you all know where to find the character lists, if not the click on the book title at the top of my blog.) (John says you can interview him as well or send him questions.)
If you want to do an interview or send in questions you need to get a hold of me as soon as possible so I can make sure to get you in. Last minute stuff might lead to my brain blowing up, which would be kind of gross.
Also, I'm still open to requests. If there is something you would like to see before the book comes out just let me know.
I hope all of you have fun the next two months, and have lots to look forward to now. And, again, if I take awhile to answer your comment I am sorry. This doesn't mean I dislike your comment, I love every single one I get. This just means I'm trying to figure last minute publishing stuff out. But your comments, they are always welcome, brighten my day, and encourage me to keep going.
Thank you all so much for your support. *** Excited for any upcoming events? Do you have any questions for the characters, John, or me? Any behind-the-story facts you wish to know? (I found my very first notes on the book which I would be willing to share on request.) And, speaking of December, WHO IS READY FOR THE HOBBIT?!

"Chase your dreams and take to the skies."
Lisbeth's Choice is out on Monday!!!
I thought I would give an overview of what the short story will contain so you know what you are getting.
The story is 66 pages long, though not all of that is the actual story. The story itself is about fifty pages long. The plot is as follows.
Detective Isidore Thaddeus Reichmann doesn't want friends but Lisbeth has given him no choice. She stepped into his life, promising never to leave his side and slowly, Isidore accepts her thrust of friendship. Together they solve mysteries, rather, he solves them and she gets into trouble. They are inseparable and secretly Isidore enjoys his constant companion. However, a time is coming when promises will be broken and a friendship tested - and the end result will forever change Isidore's life.
I've also added a sneak peak at Haphazardly Implausible at the end of the story. And yes, this is the edited version, not like the other un-edited bits I've released before. This will not be a sneak peak I've revealed before.
Right now the story is just being released in ebook form. Later, if there is enough request for them, I will compile the short stories together and release them in paperback form. If you like this idea you need to let me know 8-)
Monday morning I will be putting the short story up on Smashwords. If I can get it to work, I will make it available for Nook and Kindle as well as downloadable for the computer. Monday I will put the link up on this post, which should make it easier for everyone to find.
Tuesday I will put up an important post which will probably stay up the rest of the week so everyone can see it.
And now, all I can say is, I hope you will enjoy the story! And if you can help spread the word, that would be great!

"I'd rather waltz then just walk through the forest."
I'm feeling very pleased with myself. This is probably bad and it will go to my head and I will become cocky and you will all have to give me a reality check. Well...maybe. Don't make it a harsh reality check. I don't think I could live through such a thing.
Now, you are probably wondering as to WHY I am so very pleased with myself. Well...I really cannot take credit for it. Most of it needs go to my friend who pointed me in the right direction and to my actors, and the movie maker thingy which is so nicely laid out that even me with my limited computer skills was able to master it. Er, not master, but make it work.
Do you wish to know what I'm babbling so delightedly about? Okay...I shall tell you.
My friends, I did it!!! I put the trailer together!!! *Does a jig*
Like I said, I couldn't have done it without my friend who did the simple, but amazingly wonderful task of giving me the name of the program. (Friend, there is no end to your brilliance.)
Now, before anyone asks when they can see it, I must go into some detail.
The trailer isn't completely done yet. Right now I'm trying to get permission to use a song I found in it. Also, I won't be releasing it until I have the book cover - I'm trying to decide if I wish to reveal the cover with the trailer or before.
Also, I'm trying to work dates out. The book SHOULD be out in two months - I say should because life likes to mess up wills. Before then I want to reveal some of the art work which will be appearing in the book - but I have to work out some things before I even plan this.
However, I did put together a little blooper/ behind-the-scene trailer which I am thinking of releasing this week or next week. Or maybe after the short story.
But for right now, I'm just going to sit here, grinning like a mad man, relieved I've one more thing I don't have to try and get done. Next on the list...another re-read of the book and learning how to master formatting. *Ignore the gleeful, villainous laughter behind me.*
Also, posts won't be every day the rest of this week. I'm working hard on getting the short story ready to be published. So, this might be the only post you get this week. But John will be posting, if you want to read his. *** Would you like to see the cover before the trailer or at the time I release it? Would you like to see some of the art work early, if all goes as planned? Is there anything special you would like to see before the book comes out? Interviews, behind the story, answers and questions? I'd love to know your thoughts! Which would you rather have the short story in, ebook or paperback?
