"If you ever do anything to hurt her I will discharge my weapon." "You'd shoot me?" "Repeatedly."

Wherein Jack worries about what is living in her fridge.
There has been an open pack of hot dogs which has been in our fridge for about a month, at least. And it hasn't gone bad. Should I be worried?
 C  Castle in the Sky.

I saw this movie last week. I rented it because it was made by the same man who made How's Moving Castle. It is filled with air pirates, airships, and flying castles - in other words, an instant like for me.
The story is about a girl named Sheeta and her new friend Pazu. Sheeta was a farm girl kidnapped by a group of solders and later nearly kidnapped by a band of pirates. They are all after her necklace which is magical.  Sheeta escapes all of them and meets Pazu, a miner boy who is determined to find the flying castle his dad once saw, and prove to everyone that his father wasn't a liar. Together they join forces, later siding with the pirates - the band consisting of a husband and wife and their sons with the mum being the captain.
I don't call many plots cute, but this one fits the description. Sheeta and Pazu are adorable, and the pirates are great. Yet, in spite of it being a cute story, it is still very exciting, with a good many chases and and fun plot twists. This is a movie I could watch more then once and never get tired of. *** And thus ends today's letter, and here begins Day Two of the Merlin Blog Party. If you wish to join in you can find all the details HERE!! at my friend Bella's blog.
Today is when we pick an under appreciated character to blog about. As I've said, I have only made it to series two, so I don't know of a lot of lesser characters. And the one who does come to mind is a chap who's name I don't even remember. But those of you who have seen the show will likely know who I am talking about.
In one episode Arthur uncovers a rich tomb and a tomb raider decides he'd like some of the treasure. Posing as a new servant, this man tries to make Merlin look like a horrible servant, weaseling his way up until it is he who is Arthur's personal servant, enabling him to steal the key.
Later on, this man is turned evil by magic, but of course, Merlin saves the day.
What I like about this man so much is that he wasn't the typical, "I MUST KILL ARTHUR!" villain. He was just a thief who messed with magic. He had nothing against Arthur, he just wanted some jewels and gold. And while I like the "MUST KILL ARTHUR!" villains, it was nice to meet one who wasn't dead set on killing the future king. Therefore, he is my under appreciated character.
And now I need to go. I should have a writing update for all of you soon. (When I can write it without making a post book length.)
And what about you? Have you ever seen Castle in the Sky? Have you ever seen a movie you would term cute? Which little known Merlin character do you like?
Quote is again from Psych, and it is one of my favourites. In the episode, Lassie finds out Shawn and Jules are dating and is mad. (After all, Jules is his partner, and if she is dating Shawn - the man he cannot stand - it means Shawn will be around more then before.) Through the whole episode, Lassie pouts - to put it mildly - and makes it known to Jules just how mad he is. It isn't until the end of the episode that he comes around, as much as Lassie can do. Hooking himself up to a lie detector with no one around but Shawn, he tells him he will kill him if he ever hurts Jules. And it is a cool part, because it is one of the few times we are reminded that Lassie has a heart. *Smirk*

April 1, 2013

"Then she knew her attacker." "Or she paid someone to murder her. But now that I hear your idea I like it better."

 B
B was harder then I thought it would be. One would think it would be simple, since it isn't X or something. (Funny thing, I have an X. And a Y and a V. But B....not so much.) In fact, I can't even think of a movie I've seen which begins with B. Probably when this post goes up I will think of a hundred and then I will mentally kick myself. But, since nothing is coming to mind and I've been thinking on it for hours, I will go with a movie I wish to see, but haven't had a chance to yet.

 Brother's Grimm.

When I saw the preview for this before it came out I thought one of the brothers was played by Samwise Gamgee. By then I was a huge Lord of the Rings geek so anything that any of the actors were in I wanted to see.
On discovering it wasn't Sam I was disappointed, but by then I had seen the preview twice and my interest was pricked. And since then I've only become more interested in seeing it, thanks to Grimm. (The TV show.) Watching a movie about Nick's ancestors? Aye, can't go wrong there.

Considering the fact it has now been out since 2005...I think it is time I finally sat down and watched it. I'll force one of my brothers to watch it with me, pay back for...there has to be something I have to pay them back for.
*** This is not related to the challenge so those who are here for the challenge - you can skip this if you like.

First, I was given an award from Jonnah. You can find her blog HERE! Thank you, dear!

This is one of the easier blog awards - by that I mean I only have to answer three questions.
 1. What famous person would you like to meet?
I believe I have done this one before, or maybe one like it. Either way, I think I picked Josh Groban. I would pick him again, because he is that cool, but I should probably go with someone different.
How about Jamie Bell. Because he is a huge Tintin geek, and played Tintin, and his hair does the Tintin thing. And we could go to the Tintin museum or something.

 2. What is your favourite flower? I would say any but right now I am in that sneezing season where all flowers make me sneeze my head off. (Not that that makes me dislike them, it is just hard to smell them when you're sneezing.) Therefore I shall have to go with looks.
I know girls say roses are cliche, but I think they are pretty.

 3. What is your least favourite food?
I've never had haggis, but I've had hot dogs and I believe they are pretty much the same thing. And I'm not overly fond of hot dogs - how un-American of me! - so...can I say haggis? (Though, if you want to offer me haggis I'd try it.)
This second part is from Bella's blog at To Say Nothing Of Reality. You can find it HERE!
Bella is holding a Merlin Blog Party. And since this is Merlin, I couldn't resist. I had to join. You can find the rules on her blog.

Day One, I believe - I hope I am doing it correctly - we are supposed to do a post on our favourite  main characters. I am on season two on Merlin, but I have seen enough to have favourite character.

 Arthur and Merlin.

I liked Merlin the moment I saw him - Arthur took me longer because he can be such a prat. But over time he grew on me, then he drank the poison to save Merlin's life. Then he went to save Gwen and Merlin found out he loves her and there was that funny scene of then not talking about Arthur's feelings as they walked. And now I just love these two.

Merlin is one of the sweetest, bravest characters in TV history. He saves Arthur's life but it is rarely known. He willingly gets in trouble to keep Arthur out of it. And he can be completely ridiculous and fun. He can also laugh at himself, which few people do. "My name is Merlin, but most people call me Idiot."
Also, he rarely complains about all of the work he has to do. He did once and felt bad for it later.
And he never hesitates to lay down his life for his friends. (Thankfully he hasn't died yet.)

Arthur tries to hide his feelings. He tries to act tough and - well, like his father - but his kind heart and concern for his people shows through often and even saved the kingdom once. Of course, he still has his prat moments - and walk away from a challenge? Take an insult? Not likely. But he is growing and I am excited to see him as king.

And never fear, Bella! I shall be picking up this series again very soon. *Grin*

What about all of you? Have you seen The Brothers Grimm? Do you have a movie you have been wanting to see for years? Have you seen Merlin? Do you have a favourite character?

Quote is from Psych, when Woody tries to help Shawn solve a case. There is a reason Shawn is the detective and Woody works in the morgue.

"Wow, you're like a robot." "Thanks."

 Wherein Jack starts a challenge.
Aye, today is the first day of the A to Z challenge. If you want to learn more about it you can click HERE! The theme I will be going with this month is movies.
AAdventures of Tintin. (Surprised? No, didn't think so.)
"My name? It would mean nothing to you, but back home they call me Tintin."
I have no clue what I am supposed to do now. (Everyone who reads my blog knows I like this movie, I talk about it enough. And those who have just started following me will figure this out soon enough. And I am hoping you've all seen it, but if not...you should.)
I feel kind of silly telling you all what it is about, as most everyone I know has seen it. But since I don't know what else to do, I shan't protest talking about it again.
Based on the comic books by Belgium writer, Herge, staring the geeky Jamie Bell as Tintin, it is a movie about a treasure hunt, friendship, and it has an air plane in it, as well as pirates and the best sword duel in history. Oh, and it has Sir Frances Haddock.
And that is all. Let's hope by the end of the month I will have a better idea of what I'm doing. I also hope you will all enjoy this month long challenge, and not wish to throw something at me by the end of it.

Quote is once more from Psych. It is Shawn who called Lassie a robot - and Lassie who took it as a compliment. Leave it to Lassie.)

"If you go to jail I'm not waiting for you." "You won't have to. I'll escape, we both know I will."

Wherein Jack admits that the marketing world is smarting then she is.
Well, if it is called marketing. Whatever that is on Amazon and Barnes and Noble which lets you price your books. I know authors are always having free days for their work, but I can't figure out how. My cold isn't helping matters any. I wonder if part of it has to do with the pictures. I know Lulu won't let me go below a certain price because of them. Probably takes more money to publish a book with pictures.
However, I was able to lower the price. Unfortunately I was only able to lower it on the Kindle edition. If you have a Nook and would rather have it for Nook please email me and we will figure something out.
And all of that said...the ebook of Haphazardly Implausible will only be 2.99 from now until Monday. You can find the link for it HERE! I am not sure if it is 2.99 yet, you might want to check back later if it isn't. (I meant to do this last night but fell asleep...so, that didn't work so well.)
And now I should be going. Lots to do today. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I shall return on Monday.
The quote is again from Psych, after Shawn saves a polar bear and the police start to look for him. Jules wants him to return it till she sees how cute he is. The line above is between the two of them, and I think everyone who watches the show knows Shawn would find a way to escape prison if he ever got arrested.

"I got the tiny girl with the limp." "Nice work, Lassie."

Wherein Jack feels flattered and speechless all at once.
I don't even know how to begin. Hence the speechless bit.
As you can see from my sidebar I now have a 100 followers. Aye, a 100. I never thought I'd get this many, and now I am in shock.
Which is why it took me about ten minutes just to write that bit.
So, thank you, all of you! And if you come back on Friday I will, hopefully, have a surprise for everyone. (Something I've been planning for the day I reached a 100. Well, for the Friday I reached a 100. I like to save all these things for Fridays, just to make the day even better then it already is. *Smirk*)~~~  I caught the flu so spent an hour or so curled up on the couch - I spent most of the day on the couch, but only part of it curled up for an hour or two watching the old Tintin cartoons. I got the first season for Christmas but found they put all the seasons on Netflix so thought it might be fun to watch them all. After all, I watched the BBC Narnias - not that those weren't too bad, but the Prince Caspian one makes me wince even now.
The Tintin cartoons aren't too bad. And they are fun to watch with the knowledge that Jamie Bell used to watch them as a boy. (If you don't know who he is I disown you.) But every time I watch them I am reminded of just how glad I am that the new movie was made.
It isn't that the cartoons are bad, and in some ways they keep closer to the story lines of the books better then the new movies. But there are some things I wish they hadn't done in the cartoons.
The first is, I miss the accents. Maybe this comes from watching BBC so much though. Seeing a non American character speaking with an American accent makes me want to cry. Kind of like every time I hear Hugh Jackman not using his wonderful accent. (There really should be some kind of law passed against him. An Australian, who doesn't use an Australian accent. Tisk.)
I know I shouldn't complain too much about the lack of accents, but I still miss them. The other thing that makes me want to put the movie in is Tintin's insistence of shouting Yahoo. Yahoo? Tintin, when did you become reduced to this? I noticed other American phrases which were snuck in. I can't recall them at the moment thanks to my cold, but I heard a lot in The Cigars of the Pharaohs. And he kept saying vacation. It took all my will power and my sore throat to keep me from shouting Holiday.
Nevertheless, it is a fun show and the perfect way to pass a day sick with the flu. And I am excited to see The Black Island one, (My favourite of the books. Hear that, Peter Jackson?! You like it, I like it...you should put it into the new movie!!)
Enough of Tintin though. (Haha, just kidding. One can never get enough of Tintin) Even so, I am going to bed.
Quote is again from Psych. In this one, Shawn and Gus and Lassie all have to chase down two teens. Shawn and Gus go after the young man while Lassie chases the girl who has hurt her ankle. And he is quite proud of himself when he catches her. (Well done, Lassie. Well done.)
What about all of you? Have you seen the Tintin cartoons? What are your thoughts on them?
Don't forget to come back on Friday!!

"Did he just throw a loafer at me?"

Wherein Jack does tags and other things.

John and I have decided Kitty is Darcy. Just like Darcy in Haphazardly Implausible, Kitty can be blame for almost everything that goes wrong in my bedroom. Something falling over, my blankets all ending up on the floor in the morning, Aliens landing, it is all Kitty's fault. John has also decided that, if Kitty is Darcy then I am Peter - since Kitty annoys me more then anyone else - and he is Kirk, since he has a kilt. I don't argue with John's reasoning.
I have pictures of, well at least one costume which will be used in the Stretch of Loyalty trailer!
These were made especially for the trailer, gray finger-less gloves like the ones Magda wears in the story. (Trust me, she wears them.)
If you want to see more like these, or even buy some, check out this blog HERE! This is the one who made these for the trailer.
Now, I have two tags. I will be doing both now, since April is coming fast and I will be doing the A to Z Challenge then.
The first tag is from Essie. You can find her blog HERE!
This tag is the work in progress one and all one needs to do is answer the following questions.
 1. What is the working title of your book? Abolished Impracticality, the second book in my Haphazardly Implausible series.
 2. Where did the idea come from for the book? From an airship and a series I read. But mostly the airship, and some pestering characters
 3. What genre does your book come under? Steampunk
 4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition? When Clair started the pictures for the book I had to find people I thought looked like my characters. All those actors looked like my characters, but they would likely be too old to play them...but if I had to pick...anyone British. No wait, that wouldn't work. Steed and Darcy would kill me if I had British actors play them. And Peter would hit the roof. Does anyone know of any dashing French actors who could pull Steed off? And before he is cast Steed needs to look him over and interrogate him.
 5. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? Oh, I'm rubbish at these!! Um.... Death follows a step behind Peter and the only way to save him is to solve the mystery of who his parents were. (Maybe something like that?)
 6. Is your book self-published, published by an independent publisher, or represented by an agency? None, it isn't out yet, but when it comes out it will be self-published.
 7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?  A month I believe.
 8. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? Maybe Scott Westerfeld's Leviathan books...
 9. Who or what inspired you to write this book? The Inklings - a group of writers who are part of a writing group I started. You can find it HERE! You can even join if you like. *Smirk*
 10. What else about your book might pique the reader's interest? Someone dies. (Come now...that's enough to pique anyone's interest to an extent. *Grin*)
The second tag is from Amy who blogs HERE! For this one I am supposed to thank the person who has awarded me, answer some questions, and pass the award along. So, THANK YOU, AMY!!!!!! *Tackles and hugs*
 Now to answer.
 1. What famous person would you like to meet? Um...I am stealing Amy's. I would like to meet Josh Groban. Not only do I love his music and would love to hear him sing in person, but he seems so funny. (The chap dressed up like the fellow from Blue's Clues. How could you not like this guy?)

 2. What's your favourite flower? Oh, just one? Maybe wild flowers. More then one, but they are so pretty spread out over the meadows.
 3. What is your least favourite food? Anything that doesn't taste good. 8-P
Now, I tag everyone who would like to have it. (I know, I really need to stop doing that, but what can I say? I'm naughty.)

Now I have to go because John wants the computer.

Quote is from Psych, when someone threw a shoe at Shawn - something Lassie probably wants to do every time he sees him.

"I think my dad is starting to like me."

Wherein Jack talks and talks about who knows what.
I know, I have a character post do. I will get to it, hopefully this week.
Sometimes I worry about talking about my publishing progress. That maybe if I admit outloud, or on a blog, everything I'm doing at the moment it will make me sound less like an author and more like a silly little girl scribbling in her notebooks about pioneers traveling to California. (Been there, done that. What author hasn't?) But part of the reason I talked about all the work I went through to publish my first book was to help other to be authors out and to show everyone all the work which has to go into it. I guess it was to make all us mysterious authors seem less mysterious. I wonder if I've broken a code. Either way, talking about marketing cannot be much different then disclosing all the pre publishing secrets. So today, I will share with you what I've done so far to market.
When researching marketing I read about readers complaining about when authors will talk on and on about their book, trying to talk them into reading it. They said they would see something like that on Twitter and would end up un-following the author. I never wanted to force my book on people. I prepared myself for complete rejection, just to be prepared, and did my best to prick interest in readers. I sought out those who read Steampunk and met them. I met some Steampunk authors who have helped me out a great deal.
But publishing the book was different. Now I have a book out there, I am a real live author...good thing I'm not dead, eh? That might be disturbing. And now people I've never met face to face are reading my book. But is it enough?
With self-publishing, it has given many a chance to get published. But it also opened the doors to publish EVERYTHING. Some poorly written books can be published now, so how to make mine stand out? Without going about, all over online, making mine sound like the next Lord of the Rings? Because that is just annoying.
I must admit, I'm not sure I really came up with a new marketing plan. At the moment my plan has been rather simple, maybe too simple. The best way I've seen to market is to allow the readers to spread the word. If they like the book enough they will talk about it. Also, have another book out in six months. I've seen that this helps as well. If an author is new it is easy for them to get forgotten if they wait too long to publish a second book.
Also, getting an already well known author to read the book and write a review helps as well. I've already been trying this. I have been in contact with many authors and one has offered to read it. Which makes me a little nervous, but not too nervous because I know her.
All of this has proven to be more work then I bargained for. I must keep up on my blog, I must keep up on comments and always keep an eye out for new readers. I must be active online and keep an eye out on the new books coming out. What is the new popular genre? What books are doing well, which are being over looked? Who are the new authors? I have to keep a consent watch on this.
And, of course, there is daily life I cannot shove aside. I have a job I have to get to - you know, on the days I am scheduled. I make time for my family and friends. Emails to answer. Secret projects to work on. Writing and editing which must be done. Preparation for the book trailers and covers. Costumes which must be made. And somewhere in there is eating and sleeping...not sure where, but it is there somewhere.
I'm not complaining, it is fun and is what I've always wanted to do. But figuring out marketing almost threw me for a loop, and everything else that happened in my life lately. Authors who still manage to write and spend time with their families deserve a metal. I know of a husband and wife who both write and still manage to be good parents to their daughter as they dash all over to conferences and book signings and who knows what else.
So what do you think? What marketing plans make you NOT want to read an author's book? What marketing plans make you want to read it?
I should have trailer news for you all soon, for A Stretch of Loyalty. I have been getting help with the costumes but a camera wasn't working, so I can't share them yet.
Quote is from Psych, something Shawn says after his dad tells him to be careful - or tells him not to work on a case which Shawn instantly works on.

"You disturb me."

Wherein Jack ties to review Oscar for those who haven't seen it.

Oscar came out in 1991 and stars Sylvester Stallone. You all know who he is, right? Rocky? Okay, good. Moving on. It also stars Tim Curry who I've heard is a famous actor but I can never place him.

The movie is set in the 1920's and Stallone plays an Italian gangster named Angelo "Snaps" Probolone. (Those who get his last name get points. {I'm looking at some certain Italian sisters I know.})

The movie begins with the death of Snaps' dad, who makes him promise to give him his life of a gangster. Since his dad is on his death bed, and still able to slap him, Snaps has no choice but to make the promise. And that is how things start to get really interesting.

Since he can no longer make a living as a gangster, Snaps decides to become a banker. He plans a day to meet with the fellow bankers so they can decide if this ex-gangster is cut out for the job. Meanwhile, a couple detectives and a rival gang has their eyes on Snaps' house. None of them believe he has given up his life of crime.

The day of the meeting a young man, Anthony, shows up to talk to Snaps and "It is a matter of life and death." It turns out that Anthony works for Snaps and has come to ask for a raise, so he can marry Snaps daughter, Lisa. It also turns out Anthony has stolen money from Snaps which he is now offering to give back in jewels which he keeps stored in a brown bag.

And from there Snaps' day goes from bad to worse when Lisa tells him she is in love with Oscar - the chauffeur who Snaps fired for falling in love with his daughter. Desperate to get out of the house, Lisa tells her parents she is going to have a baby, therefore forcing them to allow her to get married. There is only one problem, Oscar joined the army - and Anthony doesn't want to marry Lisa but Terrisa - his OTHER daughter he didn't know about.

Desperate to get his jewels back, Lisa married, and his job with the bank, Snaps hunts down husbands while dealing with his henchmen who just can't get it through their heads that they cannot randomly shoot people - and a maid who is engaged to the man Snaps originally wanted Lisa to marry. And all the while, brown  bags are moving in and out of the house, drawing the suspicion of the detectives across the street.

This is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Tim Curry plays Dr. Poole, a man who is there to help Snaps talk like a banker - and who is one of Lisa's potential husbands. He is enough to keep one laughing alone. Also, the two main henchmen are hysterical, especially Connie. There are two brothers who make suits who have a funny part to play in the disaster as well.

The plot is wild and insane, and most of it takes place in one house in a time period of just a few hours, pure brilliance.

The ending is perfect and causes me to fall over laughing every time.

Now I am going to bed because I've had a long day. Quote is from Psych. I don't remember who disturbs who in this one but I can guess. It was either Shawn disturbed by Lassie or Lassie disturbed by Shawn.

"Why did he just tilt his head and squint?" "It's his 'I got a clue' face."

Today is the Top Ten Movie Countdown over at the Captain Ninja's blog. HERE.

This is going to be hard, as I have too many favourite movies. But I will do my best.

 10 The Chronicles of Narnia
"It's King Edmund, actually. Just king. Peter's the high king. Confusing, I know."
"That doesn't exactly rhyme." "You're kind of missing the point!"
"I'm going to kill him!" "You may not have to."

 9 The Adventures of Tintin
"I need to keep moving and try and find my way off this drunken tub." "Tub? Tub?! TUB!?!"
"I'm not a bad person! I'm a kleptomaniac!" "What?" "It's a fear of open places."
"Just like you said, Captain. You hit a wall, you push through."

8 The Lord of the Rings, which includes The Hobbit
"There's plenty for the both of us, and may the best dwarf win!"
"He was dead." "He was twitching!" "He was twitching because he had MY ax embedded in his nervous system!"
"Fight for me, and I will hold your oaths fulfilled! What say you?"

 7 Howls Moving Castle
 "May all your bacon burn!"
"Can I have it please?" "Well, if it means that much to you."
 "Sophie! What have you done?!"

 6 Oscar
"Not Lisa, our other daughter." "What other daughter?!" "Our other daughter who is not Lisa!" "We don't have another daughter who is not Lisa!"
 "It's like disarming Germany!"
"Leave!" "Do I have to, boss? Every time I leave I get behind!"

5 How to Train your Dragon
"Thanks for nothing, you useless reptile!"
 "We're dead!"
"I'd do something stupid." "Good, but you've already done that." "Then I'd do something crazy."

 4 Rise of the Guardians
 "Tooth! Fingers out of mouth!"
"Sorry about the kangaroo comment." "It's all right. It's the accent, isn't it?"
"We were all someone before we were chosen." "You should have seen Bunny!" "You promised not to mention that!"

 3 Les Miserables
"Who cares about your lonely soul, we strive toward a larger goal, our little lives don't count at all!"
 "Who am I? 24601!"
"ValJean, at last! We see each other plain!"

 2 The Avengers
"Put down the hammer!" "No! He loves his-"
"I got it! I...understood that reference."
"Oh, and there's one more person you managed to make mad. His name was Phil."
 COULSON LIVES!

1 Sherlock Holmes, both of them
"Did you just kill my new wife?!"
"I found you." "You dropped a building on me!"
"I'll admit, it is not my best disguise."

This Psych quote is from the one where Shawn and Gus get together with their geeky friend to look into Alien sightings. This is one of the ones were I got almost every game and movie reference they did.

"What's that, Officer dad?" "Part time Officer dad."

I know, I didn't post yesterday, naughty me. But this means you got to skip a post about nothing in particular and get Friday's post instead. (Also, voting is open again, at long last...)
To make up for my lack of posts lately and everything else, I have decided to do a rarity. I am going to post a series of snippets, some of which I've posted on my facebook page, but not all.
Anyways, enough babbling on my part.
From Haphazardly Implausible. I've likely done this one before, but here it is again.
"I guess you're going to stay with us for awhile. Something about my stupid brother promising to keep you alive. Personally, I would have just fed you to the dogs."
 Abolished Impracticality
He couldn't stand the captain, a brash, dashing, and annoying Frenchman.
“I was just trying to brighten your day,” Peter said, trying to hide his grin as he took a step backwards.“Let me return the favour then, Fly Boy!” Darcy snapped.“Now what are you two arguing about?” Steed demanded, turning his attention from Kirk.Darcy glared. “What do you care? You have your own Scot to argue with.”
Traveling with Edward wasn't bad. He was kind, and rather handsome, but he had one fault Jack couldn't overlook. He wasn't Isidore.
"I was a bit busy. And I almost died, several times," Tony muttered."What did you do? Eat some more of your Russian bacon?"
"I thought we'd just sit back and have some dinner!" he roared."Can't you French think of anything aside from your stomachs?"
“My mum and dad love me!” she exclaimed. She dropped the street accent and used a more sophisticated one. “They've given me everything I could ever ask for!”“And a Scottish name?”Scottish? Was he serious?“Blimey! It isn't Scottish! It's Spanish, like me mum.”“Ye don't look very Spanish,” the man murmured uncertainly.“I said me mum was Spanish,” she attempted a Spanish accent now, “me dad is British.”“So how come ye look all British?”“Because me mum never talked and my dad never shut up.” She tried not to grin. This was getting fun.

“So, who are you?” the youth cocked his pistol.“I'm the mad man who just toppled – all that,” Singur moaned, jabbing a finger at the metal pile, “do you want me to destroy yours too? I am kind of on a roll.”

“The captain is helping,” Isidore pointed out.Stupid, know it all Detective. “Well, the captain has a couple wires loose.”
From The Broken Blade
Ryder-Adair liked to place some of the blame on the letters themselves. They never did what he wanted, and they always appeared to be moving. Maybe if they stayed still and quit dancing he would have been able to make sense of them.
“Why don't you watch where you are going?” Khen demanded. He had his face an inch from Fagan's.“Why don't you keep your ugly face out of my way?” Fagan fumed as he got to his feet.
BenArgon lay sprawled across the chair, which wasn't as easy as it sounded. Out of everything he could do, he felt this should be very high on his list of talents, especially considering the fact he wasn't all that short.
BenArgon rolled his eyes. “You are such a sap,” he muttered.
“You didn't have to come out of hiding-”“I wouldn't be sitting here-”“I had it handled on my own-”“In the snow, with my nose freezing!”
None of them needed to be told twice. Leaping to their feet, they dashed down the school steps as Jarrod re-entered the building. The snow fell faster as they started down the hard packed road which led from the schoolhouse to the small village.“If our parents ask,” Jaysen told Ryder-Adair and Fagan.“It wasn't our fault,” Jespert finished for him.“We were just in the wrong place at the wrong time,” they said together.“Will you two stop that,” Ryder-Adair growled. “It's creepy.”
“It is true.” Trystan ground his teeth. “They will try and get away with murder with you. Every chance they have to take advantage of your blindness they will use.”“Good thing I have an impeccable memory and can remember which ones will try to take advantage of me. I think I might have them locked up in the dungeons and force them to do hard labor – like wash your socks.”“Will you ever take anything seriously?” Trystan exclaimed.“Dinner. I always take dinner seriously.”

A Stretch of Loyalty

“All that work only to be kicked out,” Magda grumbled as they passed over the sparsely wooded area, “we might as well have avoided the city all together.”“But then we would not have met Ennion,” Lachlan spoke up when he heard her. “And I would have bled to death,” Stefan grumbled. “And it is not very likely anyone else would have been found to cure Lachlan,” Ennion added quietly. “And Stefan would have left us.” Magda figured she had to add something. “So, what did we just agree on?” Stefan asked, raising an eyebrow at her. “That visiting the elves was not bad or that it was bad because we are now on the run again.”
He could never forget the day she came crashing into his yard – mainly because that day forever changed his life. He had been out in his garden, picking some green beans to go with his supper when she came sliding down the rock, crashing to the ground with enough racket to wake the dead. He looked up as a boy came stumbling down after her as she stood up and brushed off her skirt. It was only then that she noticed him.

And there I end. Bare in mind, these are still all rough drafts, but I hope you enjoyed them!
Quote is again from Psych. It takes place when Shawn and Gus are getting talking to Shawn's dad who now works for the police, and one of them has to remind the other he's only part time.
 Allons-y!
