Time for a blog tour, or our own game of where’s Lynn?

In the California coastal town of South Cove, history is one of its many tourist attractions—until it becomes deadly…

Jill Gardner, proprietor of Coffee, Books, and More, has discovered that the old stone wall on her property might be a centuries-old mission worthy of being declared a landmark. But Craig Morgan, the obnoxious owner of South Cove’s most popular tourist spot, The Castle, makes it his business to contest her claim. When Morgan is found murdered at The Castle shortly after a heated argument with Jill, even her detective boyfriend has to ask her for an alibi. Jill decides she must find the real murderer to clear her name. But when the killer comes for her, she’ll need to jump from historic preservation to self-preservation …

I love San Antonio!

I’m visiting the city for the first time for the Romance Writers of America conference and have fallen in love with the touristy downtown area. I’m staying at The Menger, the oldest continually operating hotel west of the Mississippi. Although it’s been a bit of a walk each morning to the conference site, I love the old time charm of the place.

Bonus, I can see the Alamo across the street from my hotel window.

And the pool is amazing. (It reminds me of The Castle’s pool in MISSION TO MURDER.)

Exciting news… MISSION is releasing in five…FIVE… days. I’m so honored by all the people who have read Jill’s adventures in her little tourist trap town of South Cove. GUIDEBOOK TO MURDER is still getting good reviews from new readers. So if you haven’t read the first book of the series, there’s still time.

Sassafras and Spurs Blog hop…

Let’s get a little country for the 4th.

What’s a country 4th of July? Melba, Idaho has a home town celebration. A town of 500 people including the outlying farms, the population triples on the 4th. A parade starts the day, then there’s a picnic in the park with lots of games and booths for the kids. The night ends with a huge fireworks display. Americana in miniature.

We had one fireworks stand that sold the good stuff. All the ones in town sold the safe and sane fireworks. Now, I love a good sparkler, but the boys, they wanted the big, loud cannons and fountains.

The Bull Rider’s Keeper is set in my home town. Mixing the real with the imagined, I’ve built a world for Taylor and Jesse to play in and hopefully, fall in love.

Jesse Sullivan isn’t afraid of any thing, any man, or any bull. But when he decides to take a chance and carve out a life outside his rodeo career, he’s feeling like he’s walking on shaky ground. In typical Jesse style, he jumps at a chance to purchase Main Street Gallery, a Boise tradition in the art world.

Taylor DeMarco has two goals for the next year. Getting the gallery on sound financial ground to prove to her parents that she can keep her grandfather’s legacy alive is the first one. Moving out of the house and into her own condo by the Boise river, is the second. When she finds her folks are selling the gallery to Jesse, she vows to stop the sale, no hands barred.

When sparks fly between Jesse and Taylor, family gets in the way of reason, and they have to decide what is more important, their desires or keeping Main Street Gallery open and successful.

Summer Time Surprises

June is half way done. I don’t know about you guys, but we’ve been busy at Casa Cahoon.

First surprise, Ella had kittens last week. I guess I got Thor, the male, fixed a month too late. Luckily, she only had two – an orange who takes after his father and eats all the time. And a little black and white with calico markings. I’ll post pictures soon.

We took the ATV’s out a couple weekends ago. St. Joe Park is an old mining area, with a historic mining site nearby that I’m dying to visit.

I signed a contract for three more Tourist Trap mysteries to release in 2015. So if I’m not posting, I’m probably writing about Jill and the gang in South Cove.
