NaNoWriWee Competition News

Today is the day I have been waiting for since the competition in January. A grueling 30 hour writing competition, which caused my hands to ache and feet to swell in spite of getting up every hour to move, was by far the best weekend I've had in some time.

As a young, aspiring writer turned wife, mother, farmer, instructor, etc, I have always dreamed of spending countless hours tucked away in a

Funny After the Fact

Little Max

So, my daughter decided she wanted a half pyrenees/ half retriever rescue puppy for Christmas. He was a sweet boy, when he was eight weeks old. Haha! Now he is four months and recently went for neutering. The face of an angel and the teeth of a vampire... he can tear up anything, including your arm. Obedience classes were suggested. I think maybe so!

We had to keep Max in for

New? Yes, the old one is still running, but I need my followers' help!

Here's another contest posted to my Facebook novel page:

Remember the "Guess How Many Jelly Beans in this Jar" games?
Okay, here it is! Beginning Monday, February 18th, I'm going to start a "Guess the Words to Win This New Novel!" I will post how many words a day I write on this novel, but I need your help to continue

$100 Gift Card and 99 Cent Books!

So, I'm running a sale on my books concurrent with my giveaway of a $100 gift card.

All of my children's books are 99 cents. I tried this before, but someone I thought a "friend" scared me out of it. This time, the sale runs through February 23, the last day of the giveaway. I'm still very nervous about doing this. There are so many poorly written books out there that people just throw together

Createspace Royalty Issues

For those who might be following my previous post about missing royalties, I have been given an answer.

I've read several posts on blogs regarding royalty reporting issues with Createspace. If you are using Createspace to self publish your books and seeing discrepancies between known sales and royalty reports (for example, a family member recently purchased a copy of one of my books and the

Beware! Authors Read This Post- Bloggers as Booksellers

I have a difficult incident to discuss:

Recently I've had royalty
reporting issues. I'm wondering how Amazon can sell one of my paperbacks
(new and lower priced) and I don't get any royalty for it. It's the
only paperback copy I've sold through Amazon to date, yet I don't see a
dime for that copy from all of the hard work of writing it. I've
contacted the distributor with the location

843- It's Already Monday???

Well, I did it! 843 is the title of my new novella, written for NaNoWriWee this past weekend. It's another twisty romance, but 30 hours of writing doesn't offer much time for detailed explicitness, which is fine with me because I like to leave some things to the imagination.

The novella will be free to the public for reading in a few weeks. At that time, the public will vote on the novellas

Email Funny...

I received this cute little explanation about how the Internet came to be in an email from a relative. Couldn't help but laugh. Too funny. Enjoy.

How the
Internet Was Started

In ancient Israel , it came to pass that a
trader by the name of Abraham Com did take unto himself a young wife by
the name of Dot. And Dot Com was a comely woman, broad of shoulder and
long of leg. Indeed, she

On Books Today...

The self publishing industry has completely changed the face of books. It's wonderful that writers can become authors so easily, but I've noticed much controversy about grammar, as well as the decline of language in books. Discussion board posters on Amazon slam books for bad grammar. Reviewers give bad reviews for poor grammar. As writers who want to become published authors, I think we have

WARNING!!! PG-13 RATING

Though I am currently continuing work on The Gifted Ones, The Dream, I am forever thinking about my other upcoming novels. This excerpt is from Hog Island Love, an adult paranormal time travel. Please keep in mind that this is an unedited draft. I can hardly wait to see it in print!
