Compliment?
Well, I talked to a reader recently who has been reading my book, Moon Thief for a reading class he is taking in college. I had to share this encounter.
When he found out I wrote the book, he exclaimed that he had just finished reading it and he did not like the ending.
I get that a lot.
As a matter of fact, his exact words will include symbols because he said something like, "I read the

Weighing the Necessity
In today's book writing world, is it really necessary to have the option to print your books in hardcover? I recently signed up for a service that will allow me that benefit, but I just don't know whether I want to pursue it now. I do understand that this option will give me the benefits of library coverage and more reasonable pricing, but digital books have taken over the world and I just don't

Review of Danny and the Giant Ear
Recently,
I was given the opportunity to read a set of children's books by Drorit
Metuki that teach children about a very difficult form of figurative
language: idioms. This is my review for the first book in the series, Danny and the Giant Ear.

learn about idioms and their meanings. The young boy, Danny, lets his

Monday...
It is Monday, again. This Monday is special, though. The masterpiece of today is the many service men and women who dedicate their lives for our safety. Without them, I may not have the freedom of speech that every writer needs.
Many of my family members have served their country; some still do. The masterpiece for today is the heartfelt thank you that I send out to family members of those who

Busy, Busy, Bzzzzz
Well, I have been very busy lately. Since I spent a couple of days in Galveston at the end of April, it seems I haven't stopped. My visit to Hitchcock Primary with my new interactive book Hello! Bully Patrol went extremely well. The kids loved the book and I sold out of Bobby Jay: Stick and Stack are Alive! and Bobby Jay and Teacher's Desk. The teachers were well organized, though I forgot my

Another Monday...
So, it's Monday again. I hope I don't have one of those "put- out- the- bottle- give- the- cat- to- the- baby" days.
Those things happen when you're a writer, mother, instructor, wife, farmer, marketer, self publisher, etc. Sometimes my brain gets so cluttered that my multitasking self confuses the order of tasks. I'm so swamped right now, with my upcoming visit to Hitchcock Elementary, my new

Blog Break
So I just completed the rough draft for The Gifted Ones The Dream. This is my fourth novel, the second in the young adult series, The Gifted Ones. I came to a realization upon writing those last words in the final chapter. Sometime between my first novel, Moon Thief, and this one, I must have broken the seasoned author status.
I remember when I completed the first draft of Moon Thief, typed the

Writing Break
Sorry, can't blog. I'm writing. Don't know how long I'll be out of the blogging world, again, but I need to focus all of my time on The Dream. Then, I have two romance novels I need to finish while I wait to revise The Dream.
Later.
Later.

Spring Break
Sorry I've been out of pocket lately. Spring Break last week was very busy for me. I wrote a little on The Dream and started another new romance novel--like I needed to start another book--but I certainly did not write enough. Funny how type A personalities always let other objectives distract them from their true calling... The next interruption will be taxes. Funny how we always put that off

NaNoWriWee Report
I have had wonderful feedback about 843, my new adult thriller romance that I wrote in 30 hours for NaNoWriWee. I have a great deal of work to do on it, yet, but I just wanted to share what is happening now.
Turns out The Kernel Magazine is closing its doors. They hosted the event in January and were supposed to host the voting. Now there will not be a public vote. HarperCollins has taken over
