A smirk formed on his lips and he prowled closer. When I raised my hands and called my power—ready to blast him with an energy ball if I had to—he teleported to stand inches from me. The quick movement stunned me. The hesitation cost me. The vamp wrapped an arm around my waist. Then pressure nudged at my brain. I tried to break the telepathic hold he had on me, but it was no use. He had me trapped like his prey.
“I’m sorry.” His words barely registered as I slipped into darkness.

I ran down the stairs and blew out the backdoor of the restaurant. When I jerked my truck door open, I noticed Eli climbing in the passenger seat. Scowling at him, I asked, “What are you doing?”
“We need to ditch your truck, then go in wolf form to the safe house.”
That wasn’t an answer to my question. Not really. “I need to disappear. I can’t do that with you hovering over me.”

A snap of a twig made my heart jump into my throat and I whirled around while calling to the magick deep within my soul. The power surfaced and tingled my hands and fingers, letting me know it was ready to obey my commands. My gaze met the blue stare of a coopery chocolate colored wolf.

He stalked closer to me and I stood my ground, glaring at him. When he was inches from me he shifted to his human form. My heart pounded as desire filled me at the sight of his hard, naked body.

As you may know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In 2013 and 2014, the first Shades of Pink events raised over $10.000 for research!
For our third event, 33 authors have allied for 1 cause: fundraising for research. Their gift to everyone who makes a donation? A romance anthology (ebook) titled Shades of Pink (volume 3), totaling over 270.000 words.
The suggested donation is $5. Funds are raised via Stayclassy.org and all proceeds go directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
