My Second book

[image error] The Unicorn and The Serpent: Fantasy Romance
Blurb
Princess Morgan, wild and fiery, heir to her father’s throne, can best any man with a sword. Now a woman she is fearful of being Queen and marriage. But when visitors from a different kingdom show up Morgan is faced with big changes. Faced with loss, love and some touches of magic Morgan has to become the Queen she is meant to be or succumb to a life worse than death.

I love Morgan. She started off as one of my very first short stories and it grew. The characters wanted more of their story told and I loved writing it. I loved the place they created, and I love the slight touch of magic. One day I would love to see this one and the others in print. I just want to hold it in my hands and flip through the pages. I want to show it off like the proud mommy I am.

My first book e-published

[image error] Space Rebels: Science Fiction
Blurb:
In the future the earth is in a civil war against the rich and the poor. People have escaped off to the Moon or the new colonies on Mars to get away from the fighting. On a cargo ship a group of misfits are trying to stay away from the war, but soon they are thrown back into it whether they like it or not.

I love this book. I wrote it listening to System of a Down so when I hear any song usually off the last two albums I have flashbacks to some of my favorite scenes. I have got a few reviews and it actually one book of the month over at LSR blog. I am glad that at least it is up and people can buy it when they come across it.

You can buy it at my publishers store here:

Flash Fiction

Flash fiction helps get the juiced flowing. Sometimes as you work on a project you can get stuck but with a flash fiction you are creating a short story. It doesn't even have to be a full story. You don't have to expand on the characters but you do have to give readers something worth reading. I signed up for Kharisma Rhayne's Flash 52 http://www.kharismarhayne.com/2012/09/challenge-flash-fiction-52.html So every Wed look forward to something twisted, warped, or sometime with a touch of fantasy or  science fiction or something sexy or just normal. I never really know what story will come out of my mind.

Sunday Snippet

This is coming from my horror WIP that is rough draft as they come at the moment.

Jessica said nothing and looked out the window thinking. Before she knew it a memory came to her when they were younger. Brian was about 10 her brother’s age as she just turned eight. She had been walking on the side of the house when she heard crying. She peeked through the fence and saw Brian hiding behind a bush. His long black curly hair fell in his tears soaked face.
“You okay Brian?” She asked in a whisper.
“I’m so scared,” he said but the voice seemed more kiddish like a five-year-old.
“Hold on,” she whispered. Jessica ran to the front and climbed over the lower part of the fence. She ran over and sat by him.
“What are you scared of?” She asked looking around. “Were you picked on? That jerk Josh’s around here picking on kids. That’s why I’m in the air today.”                “It’s not Josh,” he said.
“ What is it then Brian?” Millions of things swam through her head. Spiders, snakes, peas, Hornets were just to name a few.
“The dark man came again last night. He said he was taking me somewhere and it’ll be fun.” He grabbed her arm’s frightened eyes stared at her. “He isn't it fun. He does things.” The last he said in a whisper.
Her brows knitted together. “What things?”
He frantically shook his head as he said, “Can’t tell. Can’t tell. Can’t tell.”
She didn’t know what to say to him. So she did with her mom did when she was sad. She hugged them. “Shh, it’s okay.”
“Brian!” His mom shouted from the backyard. “Are you ready? It’s time to go.”
“No,” he said a blink of confused eyes as Jess. “What’s up Jess?” The confusion stayed on his face as he looked around. “Why are we here?”
“You are tell me about the dark man,” she replied. Her little head confused at what just happened. She wondered if Brian was acting, playing around. He did seem like a different person just a few seconds ago.
“Was I? Weird.” He stood up. “Well check you later. I’m going camping with the guys. Sucks your brother has the pox. He would have loved it.”

What's for breakfast?

This yummy bread is best served warm from the oven so I assembled it the night before, wrapped it in foil and put it into the oven about 30 minutes before breakfast.  The aroma of hot bread slathered in butter, cinnamon and sugar got everybody’s attention and getting them to the breakfast table was easy.
 Cinnamon Roll Pull Aparts
1 unsliced round loaf sourdough bread,
1/2 cup butter, softened,
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup honey
1 tsp pure vanilla extract1 cup sugar
1 1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 cup powdered sugar1-2 Tbsp milk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
To make Vanilla Honey Butter: Whip butter and 1/4 cup powdered sugar together until smooth; stir in honey and vanilla.  Set aside.
Cut the bread lengthwise into 1/2″ slices, without cutting through the bottom crust. Spread vanilla honey butter in between slices.  Rotate the bread 90 degrees and slice the bread again into 1/2″ pieces, without cutting through the bottom crust. Spread more vanilla honey butter in between new cuts. This doesn’t need to be perfect – just make sure there is lots of butter in between all the cuts and it is spread over as much surface as possible so the cinnamon sugar mixture sticks to it. Generously sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture in between all cuts. (You may have extra butter and cinnamon sugar.  It will just depend on how large your bread loaf is.)

Tunes rule the world at least mine!

I love music. I like hard music and soft music, I like classic music and nue music. Music lightens my soul and makes me happy. For a while I am taken away to live in a world of soulful stories. I like to write to music it is my muse.

The list will go and on if you let me.

So what is your tune?

Traditions

Some of my traditions are bad habits that I am trying to break. Like procrastinating and some others I wish not to make public. But there are some others that aren't that bad. When I finish a good book I like to read the back to see how close the story was to the blurb. I used to love getting up early to watch cartoons now i stay up late watching cartoons. During the summers I would always go to the drive-n or my summer was ruined. No drive-ins around here :o( I make pumpkin bread in the fall and tamales for Christmas. I catch the cleaning bug in spring as well as writer's block. I have to watch certain movies once a year like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music and some others that I will embarrass myself with.

What are some of your traditions? If you don't have any what would you like to start?
