Noah's New Plan: Chapter 36

The final chapter of my free Wednesday Briefs story, Noah’s New Plan, is now available.

The complete story is now available at my GA page. An ebook version is in the works and should be available soon.

I hope you all enjoyed the story. I already have an idea for my next Wednesday Briefs story, but I’m going to take a short break to finish up some stuff I have in progress.

Be sure to check out the free fiction from my fellow Briefs bloggers, available at http://wedbriefsfic.com/.

When he heard the front door open and close, Eli pocketed his phone and met Noah in the living room.

Thank God.

He’d spent the last two hours checking his phone continuously, waiting for a text or call from Noah. He expected Noah to be agitated when he walked in; he usually was after an encounter with his ex. That fucking scumbag.

But Noah appeared to be quite calm.

"Everything okay?"

Noah nodded.

Knowing how much he craved physical contact, Eli took his man into his arms and pulled him in tight. With a soft sigh, Noah melted into Eli’s chest. They stayed that way for a few silent moments, basking in the warmth of the embrace.

Eli pressed his nose and mouth to the top of Noah’s head. “You wanna talk about what happened?”

"Not much to say…" Noah shrugged as he stepped back to look Eli in the eye. "He offered me a percentage of the sale, though."

Eli pumped his fist. “Yes. We can do that bathroom remodel now.”

Noah laughed. “I didn’t take it, you goof. I told him I didn’t want it. I didn’t need it.”

"Seriously, good for you. You don’t need him holding that over your head."

"That’s exactly what I thought."

"You know he would."

"I think he finally gets it.”

"Gets what?"

"That I’ve moved on."

Eli couldn’t have possibly helped the grin that spread across his face.

Noah continued, twirling his fingers through the curls of hair peeking out of the collar of his t-shirt. “That I’m with you. I don’t need Derek or his money. I have everything I need right here.”

Like the grin he couldn’t help, his cock involuntarily began to thicken.

"Say that again, baby."

"I’m with you. You’re all I need."

Eli yanked Noah close and kissed the hell out of him. Just as he began to grind his hips into Noah, Noah pushed back and ended the kiss.

"Oh! I forgot to tell you. Derek dumped Reagan."

"Yeah, that’s nice," Eli muttered dismissively before going in for another kiss.

"I thought we were going out for dinner."

"Later."

* * * *

Noah flipped open his notebook. They were having Eli’s parents over for dinner this weekend and Noah was still working on his plan for the perfect meal. He tapped his pen on his lip, and had an epiphany.

He finished up his grocery list, then re-read it one last time, making sure he hadn’t missed anything.

As he was about to close the notebook, the pages flipped to an earlier list. Two words slapped him in the face:

1. GET LAID.

Noah smiled.

Little did he know when he started his new plan that Leslie’s words would set him down this path. After his breakup with Derek, the last thing he expected was to meet someone new. Someone who he’d settle down with to begin a new chapter of his life.

Eli was persistent though. And Noah was grateful. In the process, he’d learned a lot about himself. He didn’t need a man to define him, or to take care of him. Not a man who completed him, but a man who complemented him.

And that man was Eli Holmes.

"Well, we took care of that tonight.” He crossed the words out with his pen.

Eli shuffled out of the bedroom. Stifling a yawn, he rubbed at sleep in his eyes. “You coming back to bed, baby?”

"Yeah." Noah closed his notebook. He stood and turned to face his man. "I love you, Eli."

"I love you, too, Noah."

* * * *

THE END

Guest Post: Jon Keys

Please welcome back Jon Keys! He’s here to promote his new release, Home Grown, now available from Dreamspinner Press.

Home Grown

Hi Rob, thanks for letting me visit! I’m excited about the release of Home Grown from Dreamspinner Press. Home Grown is all about people from different worlds finding each other and that sometimes it doesn’t matter. But besides all the drama between the two of them, they love good food. So this time as part of the blog tour I thought I’d give out recipes to at least some of the dishes from the book. Good food and steamy guys, what could be better!

So here’s recipe number two. This time it’s Roasted Tomatoes and Pasta, which is great with heirloom tomatoes. This one is healthier than the last one too. ☺

Roasted Tomato Pasta.

Ingredients

5 -6 large tomatoes (plum tomatoes or any another paste type work great)
1 Tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon of pepper
1 tablespoon of sugar
olive oil
Bowtie pasta (cooked)

Directions

Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
Cut the tomatoes into ½ inch thick slices and arrange on a parchment covered baking sheet.
Drizzle generously with olive oil.
Combine salt, pepper and sugar and sprinkle liberally on the tomato slices.
Cook in oven 2-2 ½ hours. Mix with pasta and stir to break up the tomatoes. Excellent with garlic bread.

~ Jon ~

blurb

Peter Stevens believes nothing tastes better than a vine-ripened tomato tended by a farmer’s hands. The craving for heirloom tomatoes leads him to his local farmers’ market and his favorite vendor, Ethan Hart. As Peter becomes a regular customer, the two find they have more in common than a love of good food. Just as Ethan begins to relax, Peter’s ex, Jay, appears and is all the things Ethan is not. A perfect storm of mistakes and poor choices, as well as Ethan’s haunted past, has him ready to admit defeat. With the guidance of friends and a goat far too smart for her own good, Ethan realizes he needs to have a tender hand and patience to grow a home for Peter.

Excerpt from Home Grown.

Ethan’s stomach fluttered, his anticipation building as he scanned the early morning farmer’s market crowd. Stop it. Peter will show up when he shows up. Ethan snapped his attention back to the present when the small gray-haired woman who ran the booth beside him tucked herself under his arm and hugged him tight.

“Morning, good-looking.”

“Morning, Maggie. How are things going?” Ethan kissed the top of her head and returned her embrace.

“Not bad, not bad. I’ve put out all the soaps. I hope everyone feels dirty today and stocks up.”

Ethan chuckled at the image of mud people gathering around Maggie’s stall. “Well, my customers can be clean. But I think business today will be good. The late season tomatoes are finally ripe, and I’ve had lots of people asking about them.”

 “Including Peter?”

Heat crept up Ethan’s cheeks. “Peter? I don’t know. Probably. You know he has a thing for my tomatoes.”

“Uh-huh, yeah. I might have been born at night, but it wasn’t last night. Admit it to Auntie Maggie, you have the hots for the boy, and I think he has a thing for more than your tomatoes.”

Ethan brushed off her speculation with a wave of his hand. “Maggie, you’re crazy. That man’s some kinda high-powered muckety-muck downtown. He’d never know I lived in Wisconsin if I didn’t have the best tomatoes in the market.”

Ethan studied the forming crowd, their sounds echoing through the building. “It looks like it’s getting busy, I’d better check to make sure I got everything from the truck.”

He embraced her again and trotted out the side door to his pickup. I’m not ready to talk to anyone about my feelings about Peter.

Bio:

Jon Keys’ earliest memories revolve around books; with the first ones he can recall reading himself being “The Warlord of Mars” and anything with Tarzan. (The local library wasn’t particularly up to date.) But as puberty set in he started sneaking his mother’s romance magazines and added the world of romance and erotica to his mix of science fiction, fantasy, and comic books.

A voracious reader for almost half a century, Jon has only recently begun creating his own flights of fiction for the entertainment of others. Born in the Southwest and now living in the Midwest, Jon has worked as a ranch hand, teacher, computer tech, roughneck, designer, retail clerk, welder, artist, and, yes, pool boy; with interests ranging from kayaking and hunting to painting and cooking, he draws from a wide range of life experiences to create written works that draw the reader in and wrap them in a good story.

Noah's New Plan: Chapter 35

Here is Chapter 35 of my free Wednesday Briefs story, Noah’s New Plan.

Be sure to check out all of the free fiction at WedBriefsFic.com. Lots of my fellow bloggers are posting this week!

Noah sat in his car staring out the window. He was dreading going inside. Pulling out his cell phone, he checked the time. He’d told Eli to stay home and that he’d be there within the hour.

That meant going inside and taking care of this.

But the last thing he wanted to do was deal with Derek and his bullshit. The condo was under contract now, and this would be the last time Noah had to mess with Derek.

Theoretically.

Noah checked his email, answering a quick question from Nicholas about his work schedule. He opened Instagram and couldn’t help but smile at the latest picture of “Theo and Beau.” So dang cute! He pressed the home button, and just he was about to tap the Facebook icon, a text from Eli popped up on his screen.

Let me know when you are on your way

Noah smiled. He knew Eli trusted him to take care of the Derek situation by himself, but that didn’t mean he liked it.

With a sigh, Noah pocketed his phone and got out of the car.

When he got to the door, he almost opened it out of habit. Catching himself, he rang the doorbell instead. There was a muffled “come in,” so Noah opened the door and walked inside.

It was dark inside the house, except for light spilling from one of the bedrooms. Noah made his way to the room Derek used as his office.

The older man sat against his desk, sipping from a silver flask. He was dressed in one of his custom tailored suits, though he looked tired, and Noah thought his hair was grayer than it used to be.

Derek tipped the flask toward Noah. “Drink?”

Noah used his finger to pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose, then slid his hands into his jacket pockets. “No, thanks.”

"We should close in about a month, according to the realtor."

"Okay…"

"A lot of memories in this place. It’s hard to see it go."

"Yeah…"

Derek took a swig of whatever was in his flask. “‘Okay, yeah.’ Is that all you have to say?”

"What do you want me to say, Derek? Yes, I have a lot of memories of this place. Mostly good. But that’s in the past now. I’ve moved on and I’m starting new."

"With that over-grown hairy gorilla,” Derek spat. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.

"With Eli. You should think about doing the same.”

"I called it off with Reagan."

"Oh. That’s too bad. You two seemed perfect for each other."

"I don’t need the sarcasm. It’s really not cute."

Noah resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Like he cared what Derek thought. Those days were long over. “Is there something you needed from me?”

"I packed up a few boxes of personal things. One of them is stuff I thought you might want."

"Okay, thanks."

Derek screwed the cap onto the flask and placed it inside his suit coat’s breast pocket. Pushing off the desk, he bent over and picked up his briefcase. He removed a stack of papers and a pen.

"I need you to sign this."

"What is it?" Noah asked. He walked up to the desk and skimmed the document. "What’s this about?"

"I’m giving you a percentage of the sale."

Noah pushed the papers aside. Anger grew in his chest, heating his face. If Derek thought he could buy him, then he was sorely mistaken. And the last thing he needed was to have something for Derek to loom over his head. “I don’t need it. I don’t want it.”

"Don’t be a martyr, Noah."

"I don’t know how many times I have to tell you this, but I don’t need you, Derek. And I don’t need your money. I can take care of myself."

"You know I can take care of you better than that other man can. It’s what you need."

Derek reached out to stroke Noah’s face, but Noah smacked his hand away.

"That’s where you’re wrong. I’m my own person with Eli. He doesn’t control me or take care of me. He supports me. He loves me for the man I am."

Derek swallowed visibly and dropped his eyes. “This wasn’t the way I thought things would turn out, you know.”

Noah figured that was as close to an apology he was going to get from Derek Pepper. And maybe the man finally realized he’d lost Noah for good.

"I know."

Noah turned to leave, but stopped in the doorway to give Derek one last look. “Goodbye, Derek.”

This time Noah didn’t look back.

Meet My Character Blog Tour: Peri McSmith

Today I have a special post, part of Tali Spencer's “Meet My Character” blog tour. We have an interview with Peri McSmith, Devin's best friend from The Degan Incident. Peri also made a memorable cameo appearance at the end of The Cassini Mission.

Check out Peri’s interview and an excerpt from my current work-in-progress: Galactic Conspiracies Book 3: The Degan Paradox.

State your name for the record.

My name is Perin McSmith, but I go by Peri. What’s this all about anyway?

This is a standard Union Navy security screen. It is required before civilian travel on any Union Navy starship. Please state your destination.

The Degan Homeworld, in the Ursa Major Alpha system.

Yes. Alpha Ursae Majoris IV. What is your business there?

I’m relocating there. My best friend Devin lives there with his family.

Do you personally know any Degans?

Of course. I’ve met Devin’s husband Bastian several times. And I met Bastian’s uncle Beshel and a couple of Beshel’s co-workers.

Beshel Drago, Degan Federation Chief Investigator?

Yeah… I guess that’s his work title. Why are you asking me about him?

As I’m sure you’re aware, Degans are not members of the Galactic Planetary Union. If you have a relationship with a ranking member of a foreign government, that would be something Union Security would need to know. So what is your relationship with Chief Beshel Drago?

I wouldn’t say we have a relationship, because ew. He’s not really my type. I mean, he’s kinda hunky, but his personality…

When was your last contact with Chief Beshel Drago?

I haven’t had any contact with Beshel, if you’re trying to imply something. I haven’t seen him since… Um… He was supposed to help me pack up Devin’s apartment, but… We were supposed to order Chinese and pack. He didn’t show up…?

You don’t sound sure, Mr. McSmith.

Well, to be honest, I don’t remember anything about that night at all. When I think about it, it gives me a migraine. I don’t know.

Describe Beshel Drago.

He’s a Degan, so you know… big, muscular, seven-foot fur-covered beast. He’s very serious, severely lacking in any sort of pleasantries, not to mention spontaneity… If you run a bioscan on him, you’ll find he is missing a funny bone.

You are aware the “funny bone” isn’t an actual bone in the human body.

Oh my god. Are you sure you don’t know Beshel, because you might be his twin. So am I clear for travel or what?

We’ll be in touch, Mr. McSmith.

Excerpt from Chapter 1 of The Degan Paradox

“Sir?”

Degan Federation Chief Investigator Beshel Drago looked up from his comPad toward the officer who’d just entered. It was just as well. He’d read the damn intelligence report three times now and still didn’t understand a word. His B Team was investigating a xenophobic faction whose protests of the influx of off-worlders were turning violent.

What the hell?

Why was he having so much trouble focusing lately? He rubbed the knot on the back of his neck, digging fingernails into his fur, in a vain attempt to ease the tension. “What is it, agent?”

Beshel’s second-in-command, Agent Barlan was fair-furred, though he had a noticeable scar bisecting the fur near his left cranial horn. Likely a battle injury. Not unlike Beshel, he was a bit on the short side for an adult Degan male, but made up for it in the width of his shoulders and generous muscle mass.

Barlan raised a brow. “If I may be blunt… you look like shit. Sir.”

“It’s this damn rock. The sooner we get off it…”

“Agreed, sir. I’m ready to get home.”

Besh longed to return to the lush vegetation that covered his homeworld.

He turned and glanced out the window. Chunks of metal and concrete littered the landscape of ruined, crumbling buildings. The road into the facility was riddled with potholes large enough to swallow a Degan battleship.

Centauri Colony was a shithole, to be frank. The human colony had been decimated years ago during their war with the Mirans, back before Earth joined the Galactic Planetary Union. Today, most of the planet was still abandoned, left in ruins. Not that it was a gem before the war. The world was little more than a barren ball of dry dirt, stripped completely bare of any natural resources that might have been even remotely valuable. Only two kinds of people made Centauri Colony their home: nutballs trying to live off the grid… or those with something to hide.

Do you have any questions for Peri? Leave a comment below!

Thanks for reading!

Noah's New Plan: Chapter 34

Here is Chapter 34 of my free Wednesday Briefs story, Noah’s New Plan. I passed the 1000 word mark by a few words this week, but that’s okay since I missed a week or two lately. The prompt I used this week was a picture of a pinata.

This week’s chapter is for mature audiences!

Noah stood in the closet he now shared with Eli.

It was quite a bit smaller than he was used to. Even after donating roughly half his clothes before moving, he was still embarrassed he needed to overflow his wardrobe into the guest bedroom’s closet.

"What’s with the scrunchy face?" Eli asked.

He moved up behind Noah, wrapping his arms around him. The muscles tightened around his body. A hand slid up underneath Noah’s t-shirt, the rough skin warm against Noah’s smooth stomach and chest.

Noah’s eyes fluttered shut and he let out a soft hum. “You know I can’t think when you touch me like that.”

"Good. You think too much sometimes."

The harshness of Eli’s beard whiskers on his neck were immediately soothed by his soft lips. The feel of Eli’s mouth and hands took Noah’s breath away. Eli was completely naked. Noah could feel the hardness of his muscles against his back. He could feel the coarseness of the hair on Eli’s chest, even through his t-shirt.

Damn. He couldn’t remember ever feeling this wanted before Eli. And Eli made Noah want right back.

Noah’s dick began to stiffen in his underwear. The hand under Noah’s shirt found his nipple as Eli’s other hand slipped beneath the waistband of Noah’s shorts.

"Eli…"

Eli nibbled on Noah’s neck. His hands tweaked Noah’s nipple, and slid up and down Noah’s shaft. Eli rolled his hips and Noah felt the firmness of his erection pushing into the flesh of his ass.

"You like that?" Eli nipped Noah’s earlobe. He didn’t wait for an answer. "Come to bed. Let me take care of this for you."

Yeah. Bed… The bed Noah now permanently shared with his man. Noah reached behind his back and gripped Eli’s hard-on. “Maybe I can take care of this, too.”

"Mmm. I like the way you think."

"Yeah?" Noah rocked his hips, arching his back and pushing his ass up. He tapped Eli’s shaft against his ass cheeks.

"Yeah. Beat that ass. Beat it like a piñata."

Noah froze. He started to snicker, which immediately escalated into a full blown laugh. “You are so stupid.”

Eli laughed with him. “It sounded sexier in my head.”

They were still laughing when they fell into bed together.

Eli rolled them so Noah was on his back. He used a knee to push Noah’s legs apart, and he settled between them. Resting the bulk of his weight on his elbows, Eli covered Noah with his big body.

Eli pulled Noah’s glasses off, and set them on the bedside table. Not moving, he just stared down at Noah for a few silent moments. “I love you.”

Noah returned his sentiment. “I love you.” He wrapped his arms around Eli, and stroked the back of Eli’s clean shaven head and neck. “Why don’t you show me how much, big guy.”

Eli’s hands glided all over Noah’s body as they stripped him first of his t-shirt, then of his underwear. Everywhere Eli touched sent electric waves of pleasure throughout Noah’s body, leaving him trembling, and his cock weeping, by the time he was naked.

"You’re so fucking hot," Eli muttered before he began to lap at one of Noah’s nipples.

Since he stopped getting the deluxe salon hair styling, wearing contacts, and quit eating like a damn rabbit, Noah didn’t feel hot. He felt… plain… average. That wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. He’d wasted so much time and energy to look the way Derek wanted, but it was just a pretty shell. That too-skinny bleach-blond wasn’t the real Noah. And even after doing all that, it was like Derek looked right through him.

But the way Eli looked at him, the way he touched him, kissed him… he felt sexy. Noah in his natural state was hot to Eli.

And damn if that didn’t make Noah hot for Eli.

"Eli, I want you," Noah moaned. "Need you.”

Eli lifted so he was face to face with Noah. Pushing his hips forward, he pressed he head of his cock underneath Noah’s balls. “You want this dick? You want it inside you?”

"God yeah. Let me…" Noah licked his lips.

"What?"

"Let me ride you."

A haze of lust flushed across Eli’s face. “Fuck.” He was on his back in no time flat, his cock bobbing in the air, arching back toward his belly. He gripped the base and wiggled it around. “Come and get it, baby.”

Noah grabbed the lube and snapped the top open. He wasted no time straddling Eli’s lap. Using his fingers, he spread the cold gel around his hole, then poured a liberal amount along Eli’s shaft. He used his hand to spread it around, enjoying the way Eli moaned and thrust up into his hand.

Needing to get down to business, Noah lifted up and guided the head of Eli’s cock to his entrance. He bore down, pausing when Eli’s head penetrated him and the burn became too much.

"God, you’re big!"

"Take your time, babe." Eli spit into the palm of his hand. He wrapped his fingers around Noah’s shaft, squeezing and stroking it until it was fully hard again.

Inch by inch Noah lowered himself onto the girth, not stopping until it was buried completely inside him, and he felt the coarse hairs of Eli’s groin tickling his ass cheeks.

Noah braced his hands and his knees, and using them as leverage, lifted himself up. Before Eli slipped out, he dropped down.

Noah began to move. Experimenting until he found the right angle, he kept up a steady rhythm that brought him maximum pleasure. The combination of Eli’s cock on his prostate and his spit-slick hand on his cock was too much. He used his muscles to squeeze Eli’s shaft as he rode the man faster and harder, wanting to get Eli to the breaking point as quick as he could.

"Baby," Eli grunted. "You’re going to make me fucking come."

Noah bucked up into Eli’s fist, then slammed back down onto his cock. “Yeah. Come with me, Eli.”

"Fuck! Keep going, baby. Don’t stop. Don’t fucking stop!"

Eli was now bucking up into Noah, thrusting his hips up, meeting him halfway. His fingers dug into the sides of Noah’s waist.

"Eli!" Noah came loudly, groaning and grunting as Eli’s cock pressed into his prostate and his fist in combination pulled a burst of semen from deep within Noah. It flung through the air like a rope, splattering across Eli’s chest, getting caught in the dark curls of hair. Several more volleys followed it.

Noah was so delirious he barely registered Eli’s shouts. He felt Eli’s cock swell inside him, and it was followed by the familiar hot wetness.

His eyes drifted shut as Eli’s arms surrounded him, laying him back onto the bed.

A warm kiss was pressed to his head. “Lay back. Lemme get a washcloth to clean you up.”

Noah forced his eyes open. He reached up and stroked Eli’s beard. “Love you.”

Eli turned his head and kissed the inside of Noah’s palm.

Blurb:

M.A. Church lives in the southern United States and spent many years in the elementary education sector. She is married to her high school sweetheart and they have two children. Her hobbies are gardening, walking, attending flea markets, watching professional football, racing, and spending time with her family on the lake.

But her most beloved hobby is reading. From an early age, she can remember hunting for books at the library. Later nonhuman and science fiction genres captured her attention and drew her into the worlds the authors had created. But always at the back of her mind was the thought that one day, when the kids were older and she had more time, she would write a book.

By sheer chance she stumbled across a gay male romance story on the web and was hooked. A new world opened up and she fell in love. Thus the journey started. When not writing or researching, she enjoys reading the latest erotic and mainstream romance novels.

Guest Post: M.A. Church

Roswell – Myth or Fact

According to much widely held public opinion, the United States government successfully recovered the remains of a crashed UFO along with its extraterrestrial occupants near Roswell, New Mexico, in July 8, 1947. In what is now known as the “the Roswell incident,” the U.S. military is said to have quickly covered up the affair and continues to shroud it in extreme secrecy even today.

If these events surrounding Roswell in the summer of 1947 actually took place, as have been claimed in several books on the subject and by numerous UFO researchers, it would certainly constitute the story of the millennium and be the greatest government-sponsored coverup of all time. Indeed, should irrefutable evidence ever surface that any government on this earth possessed the physical remains of either an extraterrestrial spacecraft or its occupants, it is an understatement to say that such a revelation would fundamentally transform humanity as we know it.

Now… according to Ziang, Daroshi’s commanding officer, there was a crash. How does he know this? LOL. He was involved. He was there. And guess, what? Aliens do exist and have visited Earth.

*Grin* Bryan can tell you all about aliens and their tentacles. ;)

Blurb:

Be careful what you wish for…

The first time Daroshi spotted Bryan, the Maz’Rarian warrior knew he wanted the small town sheriff as his mate. Things have been going downhill since. Daroshi doesn’t have experience dealing with humans, especially a very unhappy human male who’s just had his well-planned life jerked out from under him. Little does Daroshi know the changes Bryan will insist be made to help him adjust. But he also never dreamed someone would actually try to kill his mate.

The shocks just keep coming for Sheriff Bryan Coltrane. Finding out aliens exist was bad enough. Finding himself mated to one was definitely not on his to-do list. Wait, what? Did someone say tentacles? And if that’s not enough, a killer tried to poison him. Added to his misery, now he’s on his way to another planet—a planet that he hates on sight. How’s he supposed to survive in such a cold, ugly industrialized world? Can you take the country out of the boy without killing his spirit?

As Bryan struggles to adapt, a killer plots to end his new life… before it even begins.

Excerpt:

The stress of the past few weeks sure caught up with him—saying he was gaunt was putting it nicely. His sapphire blue eyes were sunken in his head and the laugh lines around his eyes slashed deeper into his face. The dark circles didn’t help matters, either. God, he looked like he had two black eyes. The skin was that nasty bruise color and puffy.

And were there more than a few strands of gray in his dark hair now? At age thirty-four this was ridiculous. That’s what stress would do, though, and this was about as stressful a situation as he’d ever been in. Bryan sighed. The poisoning deal scared him; he could have died. Should have died, actually. Someone was after his ass and they didn’t know whom. On top of that, they were hurtling through space toward a planet he’d soon be calling home. With an alien.

Yeah, stressful. “Shit,” he muttered. “Things have got to get—”

“Bryan!”

Bryan flinched at the roar from the other room. Damn, do these aliens know how to do anything other than yell?

“Where are you? Bryan? Bryan! By the stars, answer me!”

A loud crash echoed into the bathroom.

“Oh, for God’s sake.” Bryan shook his head. What the hell was Daroshi doing out there? Tearing Medical apart looking for him? Did Daroshi think he’d… what? Run away? Where was there to run? Besides, he had someone trying to kill him. He damn sure wasn’t going to go wandering the halls alone.

“Bryan!”

“I’m in here, Daroshi.”

Daroshi slammed into the bathroom area, chest heaving and tentacles writhing on his back. Jesus, he looked fierce. “What are you doing?”

“Playing checkers.” Bryan rolled his eyes. “What do you think I’m doing in here? It’s a bathroom. Come on, big guy, you figure it out. Jeez.”

Daroshi leaned against the doorframe, the rise and fall of his chest slowing. “I’m not even going to ask what this ‘checkers’ means. Bryan, the medibed stopped monitoring your stats. The low beeping noise ceased. I woke up thinking there was something wrong, and instead I find you’re… You weren’t there.”

“Aw, man, I didn’t think. I had to use the bathroom and… What are you doing?” Bryan grabbed hold of Daroshi’s shoulders as his feet left the ground.

Daroshi hoisted Bryan into his arms, growling loudly even as a tentacle snaked across one massive shoulder to pet Bryan. “I’m taking you back to the medibed. You know, it’s that thing that monitors your body’s systems. You were poisoned and shouldn’t be up. Do you understand how serious this is?”

Huh, sarcasm. “Since I was the one poisoned I’d have to say that yeah, I get it.” Bryan rested his head against Daroshi’s neck. Good thing he already went to the bathroom. “Wow, is that your best bedside manner? Because I have to tell you, it leaves a lot to be desired.”

“Waking up and finding you missing left a lot to be desired.” Daroshi gently lowered Bryan back down onto the medibed. “Do not do that again.”

Noah's New Plan: Chapter 33

Here’s Chapter 33 of my free Wednesday Briefs story, Noah’s New Plan. This week I used the prompt “Did you see…”

Be sure to check out the Wednesday Briefs web site for more free fiction from my fellow briefers.

Noah stepped out of the bathroom, still slightly damp from his shower, wearing only a pair of grey boxer briefs.

"We need to get the moving truck," he said as covered his mouth and yawned.

Eli’s eyes slid up and down his boyfriend’s body appreciatively, lingering at the soft hairs in the middle of his chest. Traveling downward, he followed the hair that led from his navel into his underwear. Eli was intimately familiar with what hid inside, though the bulge in the tight little briefs left little to the imagination.

"What on earth are you wearing?"

Noah’s voice snapped Eli out of his trance.

"Huh? This?"

Eli looked down. He wore sneakers, camo pattern shorts, and a black tank top. Oh. The shirt had a pair of glasses on it, taped in the middle, and in large block letters was written “NERD MAGNET”.

Eli chuckled. “Cute, huh?”

Only Noah wasn’t smiling or laughing.

"What’s wrong?"

"Oh, I don’t know," Noah answered sarcastically as he pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose.

"Why are you upset?" He spread his arms out. "I’m wearing this out of love. Nerd love."

Noah shook his head. “You’re crazy.”

"Yup."

Eli pulled Noah close and wrapped his arms around him. He pressed his lips to Noah’s head, planting a series of kisses. “Mmm, you smell good.”

"It’s your body wash."

Eli sniffed Noah’s hair. “It doesn’t smell that good when I use it.”

"I had to use your body wash on my hair."

Eli ran his hand over his smooth shaved head. “I don’t have much use for shampoo.” He pecked a kiss on Noah’s lips. “Anyway, I got something for you.” Opening the bottom drawer of his dresser, Eli pulled out a folded t-shirt. “Here ya go, babe.”

"What’s this?" Noah flicked the shirt, unfolding it, then holding it in front of him.

He looked down at it and started to laugh. The shirt had the face of a cartoon bear and it said “BEAR MAGNET” in block letters. Noah shrugged, then pulled the shirt on.

"It’s a little tight."

"Nah, it fits perfectly." Eli reached around and smacked Noah’s ass. "Put some shorts on and let’s go."

* * * *

Noah stepped back, moving out of the way.

Eli had brought his older brother, Jack, and his friend Rex. Between the three of them, they broke down the bed and furniture, and did all the heavy lifting. Leslie and Nicholas had volunteered to help, but they were missing in action.

Eli and Rex each had an end of Noah’s desk. Slowly, they carried it out of the apartment and down to the truck.

Jack walked past with the headboard.

Leslie and Nicholas walked in, carrying a carriers of coffee.

"Who is that?” Nicholas leered, staring at Jack’s ass while the big man made his way down the stairs. “Did you see… that… butt?”

"That’s Eli’s brother, Jack."

"Damn, why didn’t you tell me he had a hot brother?"

"He’s straight."

"I could turn him."

Noah sighed. “Oh god. Thanks for showing up, by the way.” He looked at his wrist, miming checking the time on a watch.

Leslie pointed at Nicholas. “It’s his fault. Diva had to get her hair just right.”

"Well, everything’s almost loaded into the truck anyway."

Nicholas grinned. “Then we’re right on time.” He took a sip of his coffee.

Leslie pulled at the sleeve of Noah’s T-shirt. “Nice shirt, by the way.”

"Eli bought it for me."

"What? You’re kidding?"

"Just pick up some boxes, please."

* * * *

Once the truck was loaded, they headed over to Eli’s house. Between everyone, they unloaded the truck, piling everything in the garage. Noah would go through it later.

Right now everyone was relaxing, enjoying pizza and beer. Noah’s treat.

Jack took a swig of his beer and kicked back in his chair. “So, do you feel different now that you two are shacked up?”

Noah thought about it for a moment. He could honestly say he didn’t feel different. They spent more nights together than apart. He should be freaked out, but he wasn’t.

"Not really." Noah smiled.

Eli slung his arm around Noah’s shoulders. “I feel happy.”
