Blurb:
Ziang, a tentacled warrior from the planet Maz’Rar, has come
to Earth to claim his most precious prize and start a new life. When an
unforeseen accident results in a crash landing, his plan for a quick removal of
the human Shawn lays in a twisted ruin at his feet, much like his
shuttlecraft. If that isn’t enough, the FBI is sniffing around.
Confronted by the very same alien who observed him since he
wished on a shooting star as a child, Shawn finds his initial inability to
communicate with Ziang leads to misunderstanding and fear. Forced to hide until
rescue arrives, tensions mount. Shawn learns of Ziang’s intentions of taking
him as a mate. Ziang, on the other hand, is completely befuddled at Shawn’s
less than stellar reaction to said taking.
As they wait, a spark ignites. Turns out humans and
Maz’Rarians are very compatible—tentacles and all. Shawn falls for the big
alien he jokingly calls E.T. Now he must decide if he’s willing to throw away
all he knows to travel the stars with Ziang.
Excerpt:
“Mayday,
mayday! I’m taking fire. We are hit. I repeat: We are hit and losing altitude.
My coordinates are 33.3872° N, 104.5281° W. Date of transmission: Standard
Earth Time July 4, 1947.”
“Frack!
Captain, what are we going to do?” Co-pilot Napal Moray fought the shuttle’s
holo controls. “Engines offline. We’re leaking radium vapor out of the rear
engine.”
Captain
Ziang’lamdious Ta snarled at the holo controls. “How the hell did they know we
were here? Dammit, this is the last thing we need.”
“The power
transfer conduits are overheating. We’re losing containment in the radium core.
It’s going to blow, Ziang. We’re about to light up the nighttime sky.”
“Not if we
shut the core down and eject it.”
“If we do
that, we won’t have enough power to maintain… We’ll descend. We won’t be able
to stop it,” Napal argued. “As far as ejecting the core, do we really want the
humans to access that kind of technology? They’ll try to reverse engineer it.
You know they will.”
“For now
the shuttle has power to weapons. We’ll detonate it. Since it’s not a warp core
engine, the fallout won’t harm the humans.”
“Can’t we
just transport to the main ship?” Napal asked.
“It’s on
the other side of Earth’s moon. We simply don’t have the power for that now.”
Ziang frowned at the computer’s main control panel. “As a matter of fact, the
transporter is offline. We’re not transporting anywhere.”
“Then I
guess we’ll try and land the shuttle.”
Ziang
rubbed his forehead. “Yeah, that’s not a great answer either. Remember that
whole conversation we just had about reverse engineering?”
Napal
threw his hands up. “What else do you suggest then? We either go to the surface
or we blow up. I’m not for the
blowing up option.”
“Right.
Down we go then.”
Ziang
waved his hand on the computer holo and brought up the engine semantics. He
entered the command to eject the core. It took two tries to get the command and
his captain code entered and acknowledged.
“We’re losing power to the ship’s computer. If
we’re going to do this, it has to be done now,” Ziang said. “I hope to all our
gods we don’t end up scattered all over Earth’s atmosphere.”
“I hope we
aren’t found by the Earthlings. That’s
my main concern. You know what those humans would do to us. ”
“We have
to get to the surface in one piece first. Then we’ll worry about the humans.”
Ziang tapped in the coordinates where he thought was the best place to land the
shuttle. Then he ejected the core.
As it
floated away from the shuttle, he raised shields and programmed the phasers to
fire. He hoped the shields would protect them from the majority of the blast.
“Ready?”
“As much
as I’ll ever be. I wanted to see the wildlife here, but not quite like this.”

Flashback Friday: The Ranch Foreman
It’s hard to believe that two years ago today my first published novella, The Ranch Foreman, was released by Dreamspinner Press. It was popular enough that the ebook release was followed by an audiobook three months later.
Thanks to everyone who supported me and got me off to a great start!
When Madison “Matty” Ward finds himself out of work and without a place to live, his cousin comes through with a job on the Gates cattle ranch. Despite not knowing anything about herding cattle or taking care of horses, Matty does his best to impress the older hunky foreman, Baxter Hollingsworth. Baxter is drawn to the new young hand, but he’s deeply closeted, and after an openly gay veterinarian shows he’s interested in Matty, Baxter’s repressed feelings lead to an explosive encounter. Baxter then withdraws—leaving Matty feeling angry and used—until an accident forces him to confront his fears.

Later on that evening, Jake and I finished our meal and we returned to
the couch with wine and beers in hand. Jake is a masterful griller, cooking
steaks with side salads and corn on the cob. It had been a while since I had
such a filling and well cooked dinner. Most of the time in Chicago, my nights
were Chinese takeout or fast food burgers.
“Ah, now this is nice. You and me, on the sofa, drinking liquor with
sports on the TV. Can’t get any better than this.” Jake popped the cap on his
beer open.
“Yeah, well, the NBA isn’t one of my favorite sports, but I guess it
will have to do. It’s either that or hockey.” I cracked open the Merlot and
poured myself a glass.
“You’re not into either one?
“Nope. Baseball’s my first love. Football is second for me. I love
college and pro.”
“See I hate college football. I think it stems from our alma mater’s
pigskin team getting more recognition than we did.”
“Yeah, and they got all the funding too,” I added with a laugh. “The
NCAA knows college football can command more money than baseball, so they give
them more attention.”
“And they didn’t even deserve it. They went 7-4 last year, for fucking
last in the conference. We went to the playoffs and beat the number one seeded
team.”
“But no one likes college baseball.”
Jake waved his hand and took another swig of beer. “Ah, whatever. I’m
gone anyways, but it still sticks in my craw how they considered as
unimportant.”
“You weren’t irrelevant, just the team. What happened when you got to
single A, by the way? You weren’t seeing the ball, or…”
“I thought we were forgetting about the interview, Rob. Let’s save that
for when we talk on the record.”
“I am. I’m just curious, that’s all.”
“I haven’t got a clue, Rob. I just wasn’t picking up the pitches like I
should’ve.”
“Hm, well I’m glad everything’s going well now. The general manager was
wondering if he’d made the right choice with the pick. I knew you’d get it
together sooner or later.”
“You had faith in me?” Jake caressed my leg through my jeans and flashed
me a wry grin.
Feeling his hands on me again caused the adrenaline to rush through my
veins. I desired nothing more than to attack him on this couch and forget all
about the game on television. “I’ve always
had faith in you.”

Guest Post: Lei Carol
Today is the release day for the latest book in Lei Carol’s “Cascade Pack” series, Claiming His Bear. Please welcome Lei to my site!
Hey y’all, My name is Lei Carol
and I am a Gay Erotic Romance author. This coming up August will mark my
official 1 year mark as a published author.
Since I was in the third grade
I’ve been a very avid reader, having started with the very first Nancy Drew
book to the Baby sitters club to goosebumps.
I can remember the very first romance novel I read at the tender age of
thirteen, Judy Garwood’s One White Rose, since that day I’ve been hooked.
As I got older my reading genre’s
changed but not by much. I still read romance novels but moved onto the more
racier side of things until I stumbled onto my first M/M/F book and not long
after I was only reading M/M books.
One day I was talking to a good
friend, telling her about a story that I had in my mind and she asked why I
didn’t write it out. Now mind you I’ve
tried writing once before when I was in high school but due to bad feedback I
stopped, until this particular friend told me to give it a try.
Here we are a year and a half
later and I am celebrating my 6th book release and I couldn’t be happier. It’s not always easy getting all the boys in
my head to cooperate but when they do, it’s magical.
I get asked a lot what it’s like
being a female writing about gay guys and how is it possible for me to know not
only how it works but what it feels like.
All I can say is I have a very imaginative imagination and….I watch a
lot of gay porn. What can I say? There’s nothing hotter than two or three guys
playing with each other and not having to hold back.
I love being able to create a
world where everyone gets their own happily ever after with how ever many mates
they want. There may be turmoil and grief or fights and irritations but at the
end there is usually always a happy ending.
Everyone deserves the happy ending of their
dreams no matter what, otherwise what is life worth living without the hope and
dream of your own happy ever after?
I honestly believe with each
story I write, with each couple or thruple I bring together in my stories, I am
just one step closer to my own happily ever after with the men of my
dreams. Who doesn’t want multiple hot
guys to share their lives with?
So sit back and join me on a
fascinating journey with many twists, turns and bumps in the road, that we can
call my imagination. And please always remember, #LOVEISLOVE.

Excerpt
He couldn’t stop his chuckles from escaping at the
sound of a body slamming into the hall wall with a muttered, “ouch,” before the
running started again. He tried to wipe
his smile from his face as he watched the swinging kitchen door slam open only
to smack into the wall and swing back toward their flustered mate.
Before Zerek could even jump to catch the door
from hitting Shawn in the face, Zander raced across the room to grip the door,
which caused Shawn to blush and duck his head in embarrassment. Never had his mate looked more enticing than
he did in that moment; chest rapidly rising and falling, cheeks and neck bright
red. Just the sight of Shawn was enough
to cause his cock to start to fill as images flashed through his mind of Shawn
tied up in the playroom, ass and thighs bright red from a spanking while his
cock was plugged and bound to keep him from coming.
Opening his eyes, unsure when he had closed them,
he noticed everyone was now staring at him, including the sweet wolf he was
fantasizing about. Knowing it was his
turn to blush, Zerek crossed the room to gently cup Shawn’s warm cheeks. Slowly leaning down to place a soft kiss
against the minty fresh lips before whispering, “I hope you’re hungry.”
Hearing the soft whimpers escaping his mate was
enough to have his bear slamming against its cage in his mind, demanding to be
let out to claim his little wolf, not giving a damn they had an order from the
alpha that there was to be no mating until October, he wanted his mate where
the boy belonged.
“Back off, Zerek,” Zander growled. Every word sounded as if it was a million
miles away as he fought one of the hardest battles ever fought with his
bear. It felt as if his bear was
breathing down the back of his neck, demanding to be allowed to mark his mate,
signaling he was taken and no one could touch him.
Unable to look away from Shawn’s eyes, seeing the
boy’s wolf peek out as if it was trying to answer the call of his bear, was
almost enough to take him to his knees.
Trying to come up with anything that would convince his bear to behave
and back off, he even tried to bribe the animal with lots and lots of honey,
which seemed to do the trick.
“Honey,” Zerek heard the rough growl in his voice
but didn’t care. Taking a deep breath
only to hear his bear snarl and growl in between chanting, “Mate.
Mmm, honey…mate…mmm sweet honey…no I want my mate…mmm yummy, sticky
honey…I wonder what my mate’s sweet honey will taste like?”
No matter what he tried his bear wouldn’t release
its hold on his psyche and he was losing the battle. It wouldn’t take much more for Zerek to lose
control and shift there in the kitchen.
Not that he was afraid of his bear hurting anyone or anything like that,
but if his bear fully released then he might not stop until Shawn was properly
tied to him no matter who tried to stop him.
Jerking his eyes away from his mate for the first
time since the boy walked into the room, he snarled at his brother. Zander smacked him upside the back of the
head, hard enough to cause his bear to shift his focus away from his mate.
“Hey, dumbass, knock it off before you scare our
mate and cause his brothers to banish us.
Because trust me if that happens, you will see what my whip feels like.”
“You know how to use a whip?”
Zerek was so surprised at Shawn’s barely whispered
words he stared with his mouth open.
Zerek’s bear even quit trying to get free as it was shocked as
well. Could their sweet mate be just as
kinky as they were? Zerek couldn’t wait
to find out. Shaking his head to clear
the rushing sound from his ears, he noticed the whispered conversation for the
first time.
“Is anyone else getting horny from watching them?”
Cale whispered to everyone at the kitchen table.
“I don’t know what I want more, a hard cock or
chocolate. There’s something about Zerek
and Zander growling at each other that makes me hard as nails. Elliot?
Can we go upstairs please? I have
an itch I need you to scratch and then let’s have chocolate ice cream.”

Meet My Character: Peri McSmith
I’m re-posting a character interview here I did a while ago for Tali Spencer’s blog. Enjoy!
State your name for the record.
My name is Perin McSmith, but I
go by Peri. What’s this all about anyway?
This is a standard
Union Navy security screen. It is required before civilian travel on any Union
Navy starship. Please state your destination.
The Degan Homeworld, in the Ursa Major Alpha system.
Yes. Alpha Ursae Majoris IV. What is your business there?
I’m relocating there. My best
friend Devin lives there with his family.
Do you personally know any Degans?
Of course. I’ve met Devin’s husband Bastian several times.
And I met Bastian’s uncle Beshel and a couple of Beshel’s co-workers.
Beshel Drago, Degan Federation Chief Investigator?
Yeah… I guess that’s his work title.
Why are you asking me about him?
As I’m sure you’re
aware, Degans are not members of the Galactic Planetary Union. If you have a
relationship with a ranking member of a foreign government, that would be
something Union Security would need to know. So what is your relationship with Chief Beshel Drago?
I wouldn’t say we have a relationship, because ew. He’s not really my type. I mean,
he’s kinda hunky, but his personality…
When was your last contact with Chief Beshel Drago?
I haven’t had any contact
with Beshel, if you’re trying to imply something. I haven’t seen him since… Um…
He was supposed to help me pack up Devin’s apartment, but… We were supposed to
order Chinese and pack. He didn’t show up…?
You don’t sound sure, Mr. McSmith.
Well, to be honest, I don’t remember anything about that
night at all. When I think about it, it gives me a migraine. I don’t know.
Describe Beshel Drago.
He’s a Degan, so you know… big, muscular, seven-foot fur-covered
beast. He’s very serious, severely lacking in any sort of pleasantries, not to
mention spontaneity… If you run a bioscan on him, you’ll find he is missing a
funny bone.
You are aware the “funny bone” isn’t an actual bone in the human body.
Oh my god. Are you sure you don’t know Beshel, because you
might be his twin. So am I clear for travel or what?
We’ll be in touch, Mr. McSmith.
