Campingplatz
Campingplatz Altenkirchen Drewoldke KGZittkower Weg 27, Altenkirchen, Deutschland

This place was pretty posh, it had flat sandy tent sites, covered outdoor tables with benches, beautiful kitchens and bathrooms. Our problem was we arrived tired and smelly shortly after 21:00. We were to late to buy a prepaid card for the shower.
We stayed late season, early September, there were still many campers here, I am not sure if I would like this place mid-season.
This camping ground is right on the beech, we slept listening to the sound of the wind in the trees and waves lapping up the beech.

After a long day's cycling this was a delightfully friendly place to arrive at.
The tent site were not that level, thus not that suitable for tents. They had a lovely little dining room in their kitchen, however unfortunately for us, the cooking elements were not working.
Comparatively speaking this camping ground was quite expensive, though for some reason I did like it.

Deep South 2013

I loved this journal, right from the editorial I was hooked.
Highlights were 'Towering Dogs' by Rachel Rees, 'Ironing shirts' by Elizabeth Smither, 'two men who never met before compare notes' by Marc Thompson and 'Mammatus' by Sue Wootton.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST. I have a poem in this issue.

The Road Headed West
Leon McCarronSummersdale Publishers Ltd
[Kindle eBook]
This is a book that either explains how the Irish like to cycle or everything that could go wrong and shouldn't be attempted when cycling across North America.
This book taught me valuable things like 'don't get into cars with drunk people' or 'do not attempt cycling on the interstate'. Leon either wrote a manual on how not to long-distance cycle or set an example of chucking caution to the wind and just getting out there having some fun and doing it.
This was a quick, easy, delightful and bizarrely educational read.

Beautiful, beautiful sad, deep and and moving book. This story delicately explores issues of identity for our hybrid Moriori, Māori and Pākehā cultures. It is a lovely almost-coming-of-age tale that rewrote parts of my 1980's education.
Fantastic book.

A Letter to My Congregation
By Ken WilsonDavid Crumm Media
[Kindle eBook]
Excellent freeing book on the theme of Christianity and homosexuality. It was good to read from someone who was not afraid to attack the subject theologically in the cultural context of the time. I did not necessarily agree with everything Ken said and he rambled a bit trying to fit the story into the context of his North American church, however it was still a very enlightening book.

The Slap
by Christos TsiolkasAtlantic Books
[Gifted paperback]
This was a very worldly book and in my opinion was way to sexually graphic than necessary .
The story of second generation Greek immigrants surviving in contemporary Australia was interesting, however more story and less detail would have suited me better.
Disappointing book 2/5

The Kiwi Diary 2014
Okay, this is a fantastic collection of everything. Reading through The Kiwi Diary 2014 was a total pleasure. It is full of lovely New Zealand focused art. In this issue art means recipes, photography, art, poetry and prose. It is a stunning diary and enough to keep you from going digital.Conflict of interest; one off my poems is in this diary
