The Biblical Metanarritive
One God | One Plan | One StoryBill Jackson
radicalmiddlepress
[Kindle eBook]
This is a very good book. An excellent reachable and well written retelling of an old story.
The book is really let down by a lack of referencing source material, graphics that did not fit my screen and a little ambiguity around bible verses.
The last chapter of the book seemed unnecessary, but was interesting. Though it was biblical, it was steeped very rigidly in American culture making it a little difficult for this Kiwi to process.
I read version 2.0 and I suspect that these issues will be solved in the next issue.
Again this book has excellent material, but it only gets a 3/5 because it is let down by how it is presented.

Morning Writing
Am having another attempt after losing last Monday's writing with a crashed computer and fried hard-drive. The coffee is bad and the jazz is normal, I hope the cricket is good.

The Taliban Cricket Club
Timeri N. MurariAllen & Unwin
[Borrowed paperback]
Nicely written book providing some interesting insight into living under the Afghani Taliban. The plot was incredibly predictable and as a result I could not get into it. The story seemed to get lost in the mediocre middle between well written and action. Basically it was a boring and pleasant read.

The Great Word G-d
[Gifted Paperback]This book was a little out of my genre and a lot of fun. I especially like the poems written in multiple languages. Sometimes I translated them in my head and other times I simply enjoyed rolling new words off my tongue.
My favourites were; 'Stream Train Identity Needle memory Synchronicity', 'This is me too', 'Times New Roman', God's Country' and Listen.

Poetry
Dave Brubeck and I are enjoying a coffee again. I am hoping to to draw inspiration from him, so far I have only got squiggles.
