Bible and 'Treary' or Bible and 'Treaty'

AN UPDATE

Because of mistakes, Penguin Random House took this version off Amazon and promised me they would release an updated version within seven days. Six months later I am still waiting for the updated version to be posted. However if you want to read 'Bible and Treary', Penguin Random House have re-posted the version with the mistakes.

I have read about 30% of the Kindle edition of this book. Keith Newman seems to be telling the story very very well. Penguin Random House have let the side down. This eBook has no chapter markings and has the title spelt wrong twice.

I wrote to Penguin. After some very slack service on March 3. 2015, they thanked me for letting them know and informed me that the corrections will be made and retailers resupplied within seven days. They also suggested I return the book to Amazon and wait for the updated version. It is now March 23 and I am still unable to finish this book.

I suggest that before you buy it, check the preview. If the tittle says 'Bible and Treary', then wait until it is updated. It seems to be a very well written book and well worth the read.

It is now September 14, 2015. I gave up waiting for the updated version and re-purchased the kindle eBook from Amazon. It arrived with the same mistakes. So I read it and have resigned myself to the view that Penguin Random House are not interested in looking after this customer.

The content of this book is actually very good and in-depth. If I was just rating the written content, I would perhaps give this book a three. But Penguin Random House have let the side down and I will rate the book a 2/5.

My highlights were; Elizabeth Welsh, James O'Sullivan, Holly Blair, Robert Metcalf, Siobhan Harvey, Patricia Bell, Frank Scozzari, Sue Wooton, Joanna Preston, Juliet Jackson and Karen Zelas.

JAAM 31 was a very good read.

I really enjoyed this book. My church history knowledge was quite limited. Reading this book felt like falling off a cliff to be rescued by quicksand. However it was a good, thorough book often nicely written.

The book could do with a good edit.

After 'the hut builder' I had high expectations on this book and was not disappointed. 'Reach' is a gentle coastal Kiwi story that starts nowhere and finishes nowhere. It is full of emotion, choices and angst as it follows the intertwined lives and choices of an artist, vet and deep sea diver.

Laurence Fearnley's writing is simply stunningly beautiful. On her writing alone I give the book a 4/5. Unfortunately Penguin Random House once again let the side down with their poorly made eBooks. So overall sadly 3.5/5.

Intensely boring and intensely interesting. I have only read Chapters 16, 18-23 & 27. The book appears to be very detailed and for those who want to do an in-depth Old Testament study an excellent read.

Lovely hilltop traditional restaurant. We purchased a heavy hot chocolate each and shared a Tiramisu.

Perfect stop after cycling up this rather steep hill in the rain. We were also able to leave our bikes in eyesight out of the rain.

This was clearly a place for early morning drinkers. The service was gruff and the coffee was rough. However all the locals greeted us, the barman though gruff was nice to us.

We only stopped to buy a coffee because we needed the toilet. However we also managed to dry out tent in their warm undercover outdoor setting. For tired cyclist this is a must stop for the experience.

5/5, but if I hadn't spent the night camping on a mountain in the rain and desperately needing the toilet 2/5

Elizabeth Is Missing

Lovely, sad and insightful book. I really enjoyed this read about an old woman with dementia uncovering her dark and tragic family history. I do feel this story could have been a few chapters shorter.
