Silent Song 2 is available!

I bring great tidings! Silent Song’s sequel, Shattered Silence, is finally here! It’s available from Amazon, for purchase and from the Kindle’s Owners Library, following this link.

Keith never believed in Happily Ever After, at least not for someone like him. However, that’s exactly what it feels like when he has the love of his life by his side.

Alice fought everything she was, everything she thought she wanted to be, just to save him. When the nightmare blew over and the both of them were lef...

Vermilion is available

Ages ago, I wrote a very short scene. It’s a mood piece, just soft romance and feeling to a sea background that is very appropiate for this time of the year. The flash fiction, called “Vermilion”, was published in the e-magazine Daily Love, and now I’ve decided to make it available through this site. You can either read it online (it’s only 4 book pages, really) or download it for keeps.

Tools of the trade: Scrivener

I’ve been known to write a few thoughts on characters, plotting, inspiration and so on. I like to share what I think about the creative side of writing and to hear other’s thoughts. However, I’ve never talked about the tools I use for the trade… This time, I would like to share my new discovery: Scrivener.

My writing, up to now, involved a notepad, a pen, MsO Word and using my head. I needed the pen and paper because Word was too rigid and I couldn’t use it to write ideas for scenes, character...

Dangers of rebelling against the Writing Order

So, between today and yesterday I canned a scene. Nothing special about that, except that this scene doesn’t happen for, oh, two to three more chapters yet.

*Gasp!* It’s the first time I’ve written a scene without following their proper order. I usually start a book by typing Chapter one, and wrap it up with The end. I wrote what came next, not what I wanted to see… and now, feeling all daring, I’ve broken that rule of order.

I’m not sure if it’s been a good idea. The scene looks neat, sure. Bu...

On inspiration

You might or you might not need inspiration, but you do need to be ready when it strikes.

That’s another easy revelation I had a while back (when I transitioned from “practice novels” into “publish-worthy novels”) that I’ve been late in sharing. This is a good time, though, because I’m starting the draft for my next project and, if there’s one moment in the writing process that adage holds true, this is it.

When I start a new draft, it is hard to find the right voice, the perfect tone. Sometime...

New project teaser!

She frowned and let her suitcase rest on the dirt path twisting off the main road and into Grandma Mackenna’s front garden. In her memory, the place had acquired a childish picture quality, with whitened walls, square windows and a steep roof of red gables. It had been a safe haven, a place where her mum and dad sent her when summer holidays came along and she was too young to stay alone at home while they worked. In spite of the wet, chilly climate of Scotland, those days had always been bri...

Quoting myself #2

That was one of the things I loved about her. We worked. She made me work, and it was effortless.

Message in a book

I have been meaning to write this forever, but things got in the way. I’m not willing to delay it any further, which probably means I’ll make a rush job and the whole point will be lost, but… here’s to trying.

When we write, we write about something. Or rather, we write because of something.

That’s it. That’s what I wanted to tell you about. You see, I’ve been mulling it over and I think it might be a truth. Not necessarily the truth, but one of its facets. Let me elaborate:

When I was little an...

Quoting myself #1

“You do know what they say about guitarrists. I think nimbleness beats ball grabbing and body tackling any day of the week.”
