Quoting myself

They are monsters, every single one of them. Literal demons out of hell, and yet in their regard there’s more unyielding support than in any human I’ve ever known. It’s more than enough to erase any lingering doubts.

Writing software you need

Technically speaking, you can sit down and write on Notepad and all will be fine.

Practically speaking, it’s easier if you use tools. And you’ll be more motivated to work if you use a spiffy work environment, too. Let’s take a look at what I use!

Writing tools

Scrivener

At this point, I feel like a Scrivener commercial. Still, this software is a writer’s dream come true. In the next few days I’ll post a full article explaining my work process, so we’ll see in detail just how useful this tool can...

Android Apps for Writers

Writing is about sitting down and writing, yes, but there’s a whole lot of things you just have to do before you can start wordsmithing. I recently gave in and bought a tablet, running on Android OS, and of course the first thing I did was looking up apps that could be useful for me as an author.

There are some lists out there, but I’ve yet to find the perfect one. I suspect that’s because each of us has different needs, but at any rate I thought you’d be interested in what I use. Perhaps I’ll...

Fall from Grace release

Fall-From-Grace-Final

People believe the world will go out with a bang. People expect it to be crushed under ever-rising waves, to burn in an inferno of all-encompassing flame, to be torn asunder by the same forces that created it.

No one ever thought it would be as gentle as a door sliding open. No one suspected the beginning of the end would go unnoticed.

Yesterday, Lee led a normal life. Today he is alone, lost and unable to remember anything but the pain.

Henry remembers too much. He holds recollections of what w...

The importance of your cover

How many times did they tell you a book isn’t judged by its cover?

They lied.

Even though it shouldn’t be like that, the truth is that most of the time people won’t even bother with your blurb. If your cover or title can’t hook their attention and insert some compulsion in their mind to give you a few minutes of their time, then all is lost. I mean it. Some advertising services, like Booksy, will only show title and cover in their promotional e-mails!

An attention-grabbing cover, then. Is that a...

What I plan to write in 2014

Resolutions should be made in January, not now. But in January, I was swamped and crazy overworked and I had no idea if I could do what I wanted–heck, I didn’t even know if I could last the week withou imploding! So now that things have settled a little, I can give you an accurate roadmap of what to expect this upcoming year:

I plan to reach the final draft stage of:

Fall from Grace (full novel, Fall from Grace #1)
Faerie Oaths (short story, Faerie Sworn #1.5)
The Wild Horn (full novel, Faerie Sw...

Interviewed by Rainy Kaye

In case you didn’t catch it, the awesome Rainy Kaye interviewed me in her blog exactly one month ago. It was lots of fun and there were great questions. This was one of my favorites:

Where do you hope to see yourself in the next five years?

Ruling the world? Watching the mega-blockbuster someone (preferably Peter Jackson… can we have Peter Jackson?) made of my books? Being rained on by accolades and fan-mail?

Okay, seriously now: I only hope to see myself doing what I love.

Making a penny out of...

Is anybody there?

Sometimes we don’t write because we think there’s nothing to say, and some other times we keep silent because there’s too much. This silence of mine has been spurred by the latter issue: I had lots of things on my plate and I got overwhelmed. Sorry.

The good news is that I’ve two projects well underway now and I feel much more in control, so I figure it’s time to come back to you, apologize, let you know what’s new and what you can expect.

New Release

A serial novel coming right up. If all goes...
