Upcoming Release: A Nightmare Come True
Hi all,
My next baby is going to see the light of day - or rather the screens of your e-readers - soon. A Nightmare Come True (Book One in the Nightmares Series) releases on October 4th and will be available for pre-order this Friday (September 20th). Here's the blurb:
Dreams can come true—but sometimes nightmares are very real, too.
When Michael—Mikey—Fawkes bags himself a job as a handyman for a film production company and meets his favourite actor, gay porn star Colin Meighan, he believes his dream has come true. Colin indeed appears to be a dream turned to flesh. Handsome, young and as insatiable sexually as the roles he plays suggest, he makes his way into Mikey’s bed and introduces him to unknown carnal pleasures.
A slick lover and sweet talker, Colin also finds a place in Mikey’s heart, but as Mikey lets his new lover lure him deeper and deeper into a world of decadent on- and off-screen sex, their indulgences begin to take their toll on Mikey. Curious to find out more about the strange and inexplicable effect Colin has on his sex partners, Mikey discovers that there is a terrible reason why one man alone can never be enough to satisfy Colin’s hunger and he realises that dreams can come true—but sometimes nightmares are very real, too.
Reader Advisory: This book is the first in a series with an ongoing story arc. It is set in the world of gay porn where the heroes enjoy a red-hot multi-man pile-up with secondary characters as well as some mild BDSM play.

Newest Submisson: Nightmares 5 & 6
Nightmares 5 & 6 have just zinged through the www and hopefully made it into my editor's inbox, so after months of hair-pulling, nail-chewing and coffee-slurping - not to mention some more inspirational activities - that accompanied the writing process, now the hair-pulling, nail-chewing and wall-climbing time called waiting for a response has begun. No, I'm not impatient... No need to rush... Of course I could kill some of that time by thinking about blurbs but hey, I can't wait to write the next blurb - has said no writer ever and I'm no exception.
But first, this happy author is going to enjoy a glass of red wine and then it's time to log off and go to bed.
Take care and stay naughty!

Special Guest: Kate Deveaux
Hi all,
Today's special guest has a thing about typos and combines traditional London with the heat of Arizon - Ladies & Gentlemen, please welcome Kate Deveaux!
Hi Kate, thank you so much for being my guest. Take a seat, have a cuppa and let's talk a bit.
Thanks Sage for having me, I’m thrilled to be chatting with you!
My pleasure, Kate - let's get started with
The business ones
Please give us a short introduction about yourself:
I’m a die-hard romantic and former wedding planner. When I’m not writing or reading, I love to play tennis court—yes, there’s even "love" in that game too, plus I found a sport I can play and still wear a dress. I was born in the London, England, but now live in Arizona with my hubby of twenty-five years.
What genre(s) do you write in and why?
I have always loved a sexy read and that’s why I love writing them too, I think. I write shorter erotic novellas and longer contemporary erotic fiction and enjoy a good mistaken identity and/or ménage story.
Tell us about your latest release:
I am lucky to have two new releases out, yippee! My latest release is Academy of Love, a sexy tale set at an all girls’ boarding school and my other new release is The Butler Did It, a modern day Upstairs Downstairs romp.
Do you need a special setting to write in or do you have a ceremony to get you in the mood?
I’d love to say I have a special ceremony, but the truth is all I really ever have is a cup of tea when I sit down to write. Even if the tea gets cold while I’m busily steaming up the pages with my newest story.
What does it look like?
Just me, laptop and tea, could be just about anywhere.
Describe your feelings when you learnt that your first book was accepted for publication
OMG, how can anyone ever describe adequately the feeling of validation, excitement, and fear that wick through them when they get that first call? I can tell you I was absolutely thrilled, and even now — whenever I get a new contract, it really makes my day, that’s for sure.
Has the release of your first book changed anything in your personal life? If so, what?
Well, I’m busier than I ever was before, if that’s possible. I have to squirrel myself away when under deadline, but other than that, I notice people are always intrigued when they find out what I write and have all sorts of questions!
Where do you find inspiration?
Everywhere. I keep a list and jot down story ideas, or names for titles, or characters; it all just seems to tumble together: plot, setting, characters, and themes.
Who is your favourite character and why?
I love Lawrence in Academy of Love. He’s all heart and I think that vulnerability combined with his determination to win Cassie back is very seductive.
A favourite line from one of your books:
From The Butler Did It
She couldn’t contain her cries, hoping none of the staff would hear her and come running only to find their employer being impaled by the butler and thoroughly enjoying it.
Your favourite drink and food when writing?
Tea. No food, too messy!
Hey, some things are best when messy - just sayin'... That leads us to
The nosy ones
How much of the real “you” is in your stories?
I think a little bit is in every book: the places I’ve been, people I’ve met — or wished I’d met J.
Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character? Who was it?
For sure Jamie Fraser in Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Wow, he was one of the first alpha males I read and I still love him to bits.
What’s the silliest error in a book you’ve submitted?
Oh, I think typos are always a problem in a long novel, I remember in one book I mistyped “thing” instead of “thigh.” So it read something like this :
…his firm thing pressed…
Opps!
The steamiest scene from your books:
I think the scene with Cassianna and Lawrence in the stables is pretty hot in Academy of Love. There's a little excerpt for you below….
Favourite comfort food?
Chocolate sundae. I make an easy but delicious chocolate sauce, heat it and pour it over vanilla ice cream. Yum!
A person you admire:
My grandmother, she is simply amazing in every way. I am truly blessed. And no, she doesn’t know what I write….
The fast ones
Favourite colour? Metallic gold.
Favourite pet? Kitten.
Dog or cat? Cat.
Coffee or tea? Tea
Quickie or candles? Candles
Hunky or chunky? Hunky
Suit & tie or jeans & boots? Suit and tie gets me every time.
Walk in the park or chat over cocktails? Both, please.
Thank you for the interview, Kate. Let's take a look at your book now, shall we? I believe you promised an excerpt and I remember you saying it was racy... Here we go.
Academy of Love
Love smolders and the sex is red hot when Cassianna Baxter leaves behind a glamorous teaching career in Italy to return to her old Alma Mater, Lewiston Academy for Girls as the Deputy Head Mistress. No sooner does she arrive at the Academy than she walks smack into sexy Lawrence Taylor, her first love and ex-lover. He’s been looking for her ever since he was forced to leave her and now that she is back at the Academy he knows he has to win her back. And not just in his bed.

Excerpt:“You can come and ride Raphael anytime you want,” Lawrence said as he watched her with her horse and then slid his arm around her.
She loved the feel of his strong hand as it slid further down and patted her ass possessively. His hand lingered just below the cleft of her bottom. She kissed him and his hand slid a little further as he teased her with his fingers. She could feel them through her jodhpurs and her pussy throbbed with a rush of desire. She bucked her bottom towards his hand in acceptance.
“You like?” he whispered into her ear, the heat of his breath igniting her fire. He slowly turned her away from him, her back to him as she pushed her body towards the wooden wall and with one arm over her head to brace herself, she leaned forward, his body following her angle with his.
“Umm,” she closed her eyes as his fingers continued to touch her through the fabric with firm pressure; as he slid further to her clit she could feel it get harder.
****
“Yes, it seems you do like it,” he said, enjoying her reaction as he tucked her hair behind one ear and kissed the back of her neck, his hot lips sending thrills down her body while his hand rubbed against her pussy. The horses neighed and shuffled in their stalls in the background as he stood behind her, widening his stance and leaning his body against her.
He kept rubbing her pussy through her jodhpurs, her face now pressed against the wooden stable wall as he spread her legs wider with his, and continued pleasuring her through her clothing. She gasped as he ran his hand up her cleft and across her ass. He teased her again, knowing she liked it when he slid his fingers inside the tight fabric of her jodhpurs, searching for her tender flesh as he kissed her neck. She arched against him and he could feel his hard cock on her ass. He pressed against her and she moaned softly, and he imagined delving into her, right there in the stables, with the fresh smell of hay and the sunlight streaming in from the rafters.

Special Guest: Author Chris Karlsen
Hi all,
I'm thrilled to welcome a special guest to my blog today. She knows how to handle handcuffs as well as a keyboard and took mercy on a character she'd already killed when begged to let him live. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Chris Karlsen!
The business ones
Please give us a short introduction about yourself
I’ve always been an avid reader and the desire to write was sparked in my teen years. By the time I reached college age, I waffled on pursuing a writing career as I feared I’d never make a living at it. I chose the safer path and got a degree in business. A few years later I joined the police department and worked for two different agencies over the course of the next twenty-five years. I never lost interest in writing. After I retired from law enforcement, I decided to finally pursue my dream. I started my first book, Heroes Live Forever, and also began taking writing courses to learn the craft.
What genre(s) do you write in and why?
I write romance but in two subgenres. My Knights in Time series are paranormal romance books and my Dangerous Waters series books are romantic thrillers.
Tell us about your latest release
My newest book is Knight Blindness. It’s book three in my Knights in Time series (all of which are set in England). The hero is a character from book 2, Journey in Time. I had killed him in that book (off page by reference). My critique partners loved him and insisted I let him live. I rewrote the scene and instead of making his death a certainty, I left it open as to whether he lived or not. Their reaction gave me the idea to give the character his own story, which turned out to be Knight Blindness.
Do you need a special setting to write in or do you have a ceremony to get you in the mood? What does it look like?
I don’t have a ritual and I’m not superstitious by nature. I have this little niche area between the living room and the dining room that I have my desk, computer, printer and a substantial cupboard for my reference books and bits and bobs for writing (some knick knacks and keepsakes along with small post it notes that I have stuck everywhere *grins* )
Describe your feelings when you learnt that your first book was accepted for publication
I was both thrilled and nervous. Now I’d discover if readers liked my story.
Has the release of your first book changed anything in your personal life? If so, what?
No, not really, not in my interaction with my husband but it has given me focus, a place to be in the afternoons and a goal.
Where do you find inspiration?
I am moved by history, both events and historical figures. I like to build stories around timeframes and folks I am most interested in, like the Battle of Poitiers. That battle is used as the groundwork for my Knights in Time series. Or, the Trojan War, Hector and Achilles, are a fascination I gave the heroine in my archaeological thrillers from my Dangerous Waters series.
Who is your favourite character and why?
Wow, tough question. I’d reluctantly choose Charlotte, my nautical archaeologist in Golden Chariot and Byzantine Gold. I’d pick her because a part of me believes if I could go back in time, nautical archaeology is a profession I’d have enjoyed going into.
A favourite line from one of your books
For me every book has a favorite line. From Knight Blindness I’d say: “Not all lies are bad. Not all truths are good.”
The nosy ones
How much of the real “you” is in your stories?
A fair amount in the heroines and a goodly amount in the heroes as well. I work at putting myself in their place as I give them different scenarios and problems and happy events. I am constantly thinking-What would I do? The characters have advantages I don’t at times and that helps. They can be younger, stronger, and braver.
Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character? Who was it?
Well, it is going back to my teens but I’d say I was rather smitten with James Bond. I read all Ian Fleming’s books two and three times. When they cast Sean Connery I thought it was perfect choice. I also think Daniel Craig is an excellent choice for the latest Bonds.
The steamiest scene from your books
There’s a love scene in Knight Blindness where the hero blindfolds the heroine by tying a silk scarf around her eyes and then proceeds to make love to her. The scene is done through all their senses except sight.
Favourite comfort food?
Potatoes in any form but mostly I love mashed. It’s safe to say I never met a potato I didn’t like *grins*
A person you admire
My late father. He was brave beyond imagining, honorable to a fault, and had a great sense of humor. He wasn’t afraid to laugh at life or himself.
If you could ask any person in the world one question of your choice, who would it be and what would you ask them? I don’t know that I can narrow my choice down that far when it comes to a person or question. If I got my hands on various people, I’d have a bazillion questions, some friendly, some not so much.
The fast ones
Favourite colour? Candy apple red
Favourite pet? Sascha, my geriatric doxie who passed away a few years back
Dog or cat? Dog(s) we have 5 rescues
Coffee or tea? Coffee
Hunky or chunky? Hunky
Suit & tie or jeans & boots? Suit and tie
Walk in the park or chat over cocktails? Chat over cocktails
Thank you for the interview, Chris. I loved getting to know you and I already know which book I'll pick next time I'm in the mood for some crime, lol. Let's take a look at your book now, shall we?
Knight Blindness
Ready for battle, Medieval English knight, Stephen Palmer, charges into the French enemy’s cavalry line. Heeding a warning given months before, he hesitates as he comes face-to-face with the knight in the warning. Struck down in the year 1356, he finds himself landing in the year 2013. Grievously wounded, he’s taken to a nearby hospital. Confused by the new world surrounding him, he attempts to convince the staff he’s from another time, only to find they think him mad.
Rescued by friends, who, to his surprise, have also come through time, he must find a way to function in this odd modern England. He is quickly enchanted by the kind Esme Crippen, the young woman hired to tutor him. She too is enchanted by him. Tempted to deepen the relationship, she hesitates thinking him adorable, but mad. He must discover the means for getting her to believe the truth, all the while, unknown to him, he didn’t come forward in time alone. The enemy knight has also traveled to 2013.
French noble, Roger Marchand, doesn’t question why the English knight who charged him hesitated. That fraction of a pause gave him the advantage needed and he brought his sword down upon the Englishman’s helmet hard, unhorsing the knight. He moved to finish the Englishman off when the world changed in a rush of sensations as he is ripped through time.
Seeking a reason for the terrible event, he enters a nearby chapel. There, thinking God has chosen him for a quest to turn French defeat that day in 1356 to victory, he sets out to find the English knight. The man he is convinced holds the key to time. If he returns to the day of the battle, he can warn his king of mistakes that snatched victory from them.

About the author:
I was born and raised in Chicago. My father was a history professor and my mother was, and is, a voracious reader. I grew up with a love of history and books.
My parents also love traveling, a passion they passed onto me. I wanted to see the places I read about, see the land and monuments from the time periods that fascinated me. I’ve had the good fortune to travel extensively throughout Europe, the Near East, and North Africa.
I am a retired police detective. I spent twenty-five years in law enforcement with two different agencies. My desire to write came in my early teens. After I retired, I decided to pursue that dream. I write two different series. My paranormal romance series is called, Knights in Time. My romantic thriller series is, Dangerous Waters.
I currently live in the Pacific Northwest with my husband, four rescue dogs and a rescue horse.

Release Day Special: MK Schiller
Hi all,
Today's special guest is celebrating release day. She's part of the TEB family and well, she has a way with words... Ladies & Gentlemen, please welcome MK Schiller!
The business ones
Please give us a short introduction about yourself
My name is MK Schiller, I’m a wife and mother of two with a day job in the world of finance. By night, I love to sit by the warm glow of a computer monitor and think of sassy, sexy stories.
What genre(s) do you write in and why?
I have written only contemporary M/F romance so far, but I’d like to delve into other genres as well.
Tell us about your latest release
Thank you for asking! It’s a contemporary romance office romance with humorous elements. My goal is to make the reader laugh, sigh, lust, and maybe even cry just a tiny bit.
Marley Mason is dreading the arrival of the new business consultant. After all, this man will most likely outsource her job to China. The last thing she would expect is a case of mistaken identity, leading to false accusations of kidnapping when she attempts to pick up the wrong man at the airport, or worse…that she would have such a visceral reaction to the right man.
Rick Randy is super sexy, scandalously flirty, and perfect masturbation material, but a relationship is out of the question. Rick is contracted on a temporary basis to fix Marley’s ailing company, and then pull out, although as he expresses to Marley, pulling out is difficult for him, in more ways than one! Marley’s feelings range from utter confusion to intense contemplation as Rick charms his way into her life. All of those C-words Marley can control, but it’s the other C-word she fears—commitment.
Do you need a special setting to write in or do you have a ceremony to get you in the mood? What does it look like?
No – I just try myself from the P word – procrastination. It’s hard because I tend to walk into the living room and want to watch a snippet of a show, or read through my emails and Facebook sometimes. Writing can be emotional exhausting, especially the more dramatic areas, so taking breaks is essential but sometimes I take too many!
Describe your feelings when you learnt that your first book was accepted for publication
Joy, justification and pride. It was a total surprise and I have saved that email so I can look back upon it when I’m having a bad writing day.
Has the release of your first book changed anything in your personal life? If so, what?
It’s even harder to write now that I have other duties in getting reviews for my book and marketing, but it’s all exciting.
Where do you find inspiration?
I think of writing like weaving a tapestry. You might here a funny story or a snippet of a conversation that’s totally unrelated but it could apply to this character in a slightly different way. I think writing is mostly observing first and foremost. All of these random obsercations become the fodder for my story...little threads. I change the thread, make it thicker/thinner, and weave it in. Hopefully, I have enough of those threads to make a finished product someone will enjoy.
Who is your favourite character and why?
In literature, it’s probably Robert Langdon from Dan Brown’s books. I’m attracted to intelligence. I think it’s downright sexy. In my book, it’s probably Rick because he’s strong, emotionally and physically.
A favourite line from one of your books
“Marley, if you so much as hurt a hair on my future wife’s pussy, I’ll kill you.”
Suddenly, I didn’t think we were talking about a cat anymore.
Your favourite drink and food when writing
I’d love to say wine, but honestly it’s coffee. I need it.
The nosy ones
How much of the real “you” is in your stories?
There are stories and personality traits, but I’m definitely not as bold as my characters.
Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character? Who was it?
There are so many, it’s hard to narrow down. It runs the gamut from Mr. Darcy to Sawyer from Lost.
What’s the silliest error in a book you’ve submitted?
I meant to say ‘caramel’ colour skin but instead I said ‘camel’ - not what I was going for!
Who is your least favourite of the characters you’ve written? Why?
I have a couple books with mean girl characters. It’s hard to write them because you want to make them real people and not over the top.
The steamiest scene from your books
Usually the first love scene in all of the them is the steamiest, which makes sense since the characters have been lusting after each other for a while.
Favourite comfort food?
Mac and cheese – the homemade kind.
A person you admire
I have to say my daughter because she has managed to be a vegetarian for 5 years and a vegan for one. I actually made one of my characters one because I think it’s crazy the amount of dedication that requires.
I also admire Bill Gates. I love anyone who comes from a humble background , becomes a huge success, and still gives back to the community.
If you could ask any person in the world one question of your choice, who would it be and what would you ask them?
Hmmm...I’d ask Jimmy Hoffa where he’s buried!
The fast ones
Favourite colour? Green
Favourite pet? A dog...preferably a mutt with a great deal of affection.
Coffee or tea? Coffee. I’m American so if I’m having tea it has to be iced, which I know is improper.
Quickie or candles? - hmm both. Sometimes when the need is so strong you don’t have a choice. Whatever fits the mood I say.
Hunky or chunky? Hunky
Suit & tie or jeans & boots? Both and either. I like a guy that’s nine to five, but a weekend cowboy too. What can I say? I’m a girl who wants it all.
Walk in the park or chat over cocktails? How about a walk in the park, chatting with a Cosmo in my hand? Like I said, I want it all.
Thank you for the interview, MK! I loved getting to know you better. Let's take a look at your
book now, shall we?
The Other C-Word
Can she overcome her consuming desire for him? Can he make her comfortable with the other C-word…commitment?

Release Day: Stockholm Syndrome
I knew you were waiting... I certainly was, and I'm thrilled to announce that Stockholm Syndrome has officially released today. You can now get it from the publisher TEB as well as from Amazon, ARe and the other usual suspects.
Stockholm Syndrome
We don’t get to choose who we fall in love with—and sometimes we fall too far…
Daniel Eames is a bodyguard. Usually assigned to protecting politicians, he has fallen out of his boss’s good books after getting too close to his last charge’s son but when rising Hollywood star and Academy Award nominee Bryan McTiernan receives peculiar letters and requires the best possible protection, Dan is put on the job.
While he agrees that the letters are more than harmless fan mail, he finds it impossible to narrow down his suspicions and Bryan isn’t helping by alternately seducing and irritating the hell out of him. Against his better judgement, Dan falls for Bryan’s manipulations, but the more he gets to glimpse behind the façade of the young actor, the more he realises that something in Bryan’s past has a strong hold over him. While both Dan and Bryan are aware of this, neither sees the full extent of his fixation.
With the help of Gabe, a fellow bodyguard and friend, Dan pursues different theories and even hires a private investigator to learn about Bryan’s well-hidden past. What he discovers has the potential to destroy more than just a promising career and in the end, Bryan has to make a choice—allow for his past fixation to take him hostage again or run away and into Dan’s open arms?
