Aurora: Art Uniting Community

Screen shot 2013-11-15 at 2.04.47 PM A 2+ year odyssey started when my kids Sam and Julia, then 7 and 9, stated the obvious solution to a simple problem, "Let's give it a home in Palo Alto." They wanted to see artist Charles Gadeken's Aurora , a life-sized, all-metal sculpture of a weeping willow tree lit by thousands of LEDs.

New Project: PiLarm: Portable Raspberry Pi Room Alarm

New Project: License Plate Guitar

full_guitar Continuing the tradition of homemade resonator guitars, follow along as we build a License Plate Guitar. A discarded vehicle's license plate will serve as our metal resonator top. This will be mounted atop a soundbox custom-fitted for the license plate, and the build completed with a hand-wound pickup, bridge, nut, and neck. The electronics are simple, the woodworking is fun, and the project sounds great!
