Miami Nice! Maker Faire Comes to Florida This Weekend

Screen Shot 2013-11-14 at 2.18.33 PM Miami's first mini maker faire is this Saturday, Nov. 16. The event, which is expect to draw in more than 60 makers, is sponsored by the Knight Foundation and is an initiative of MIAMade, an organization dedicated to supporting the local maker community. Here's some of the good stuff you'll find at the fair.

NPR 3D Printing Shout-Out

Victor Sonna’s Art-Homage Bicycles

Guernica Netherlands-based artist and maker Victor Sonna produces these chaotic, but functional bicycles from objects "we refuse to destroy" or throw away. A member of the Collaboration-O arts collective and avid cyclist in Eindhoven, Sonna gives his bicycles titles that pay homage to modern artists, popularly known for their paintings.

DiResta: Rolling Tool Cabinet

toolstorage I want the ability to move my storage around to re-arrange my shop and the tools as necessary. So I am revising the the way I store my tools and supplies. I am going modular, and avoiding built-in shelves. I looked around a few stores to purchase "closets," but I couldn't find a simple cabinet that was affordable and durable. Solution: Make my own!
