Thoughts on "Lover At Last" - J.R. Ward
Lover At Last by J.R. WardMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
We all knew it was only a matter of time before Blay and Saxton ended their relationship. When your heart belongs to another, substitutes will only do for so long. That's why they are called substitues.
Saxton, despite his hurt feelings, took the end of the relationship rather well. Yes, he went out and shagged another fella but if he hadn't, Qhuinn wouldn't have seen red, Blay wouldn't have confronted him about going nuclear on Saxton, and those two wouldn't have finally been together. Well, maybe not so soon. In hindsight, Saxton did them a favor. He, in a roundabout way, kickstarted their relationship.
However, their relationship was only sexual for a while. For a bit, they wouldn't admit they loved each other. Qhuinn still assumed Blay was with Saxton and Blay allowed him to continue thinking this. I can understand where Blay was coming from. He was trying to protect his heart because in the past, Qhuinn didn't do "love" and relationships. It took almost the entire book before these two warriors announced their love for each other. And when they did, the sweetest scenes followed.
Now if their "story" wasn't enough to entice you to read this BDB installment, the other characters, old and newly introduced, will. Someone from Qhuinn's past makes a surprise reappearance and NO I will not divulge who that is. That's one spoiler I won't share.
However, I will say the Brothers get two new houseguests and one has the major hots for Selena the Chosen. Who is it, you ask? My lips are sealed but I can't wait for HIS and her story. :)

Thoughts on Inferno: Chronicles of Nick - Sherrilyn Kenyon
Inferno by Sherrilyn KenyonMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
I love SK dedicated a series to Nick so we can watch him grow from a awkward teenager to Mr. Badass.
In book four, fans will be clued in on what and who Koda really is.
Adarian, Artemis, Simi, Ash, and Kyrian will have their "screen time" and be prepared for many shockers such as the ending. What a cliffhanger!!
Before I end this review I want to speak about Grim. He was a freaking hoot. Yeah, I never thought I would say that but he was. Him as a germaphobe was hilarious. Yup, you heard me right. He's a HUMUNGOUS supporter of hand sanitizer!

Thoughts on "Riding on Instinct" - Jaci Burton
Riding on Instinct by Jaci BurtonMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
Just like the first two books in the series, there was plenty of heat between the two main stars. I found it easy to fall in love with the characters because Jaci kept me engaged in their budding relationship.
The only reason why I gave it four stars was I figured out the ending early on. Maybe you will too and maybe not. However, even though the "mystery players" weren't a mystery to me, I thoroughly liked watching them get caught. I'm sure you will as well.

Thoughts on "Riding the Night" - Jaci Burton
Riding the Night by Jaci BurtonMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
I'm not surprised that Teresa fell fast and hard for AJ and Pax. They were so sweet, patient, and understanding about her past. Unlike the other men she attempted to get close to, they didn't run away when they found out about the horrendous assault she was still battling to overcome. They stood by her and when she was ready, they let her set the pace in the relationship. What a couple of sweethearts!
Now regarding the assault, I was surprised to discover who was one of her attackers. To be violated in any way is horrific. To find out it was by someone you trusted...emotionally and psychologically devastating.

Thoughts on "Playing With You" - Cheyenne McCray
Playing With You by Cheyenne McCrayMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
(Side note)
When I read the back cover to this story, I had to laugh. Why? Well, I just sent in my own story featuring a baker to my editor and now I was going to start reading about a baker from one of my favorite authors. Ironic huh?
Thankfully, Ricki didn't own/operate a naughty baker and my story didn't feature a P.I. Phew, what a relief. :)
(Back to the review)
What I loved about "PWY" was the plot. So many stories center around a guy obsessed over a woman. In this story, a mentally unstable woman (Deena) fixated on Ricki and wanted her all to herself. Believe me, Deena was a total nutcase!
Also, many shining stars in a story are the humans. In this case, I have to say Xena, Ricki's companion, out shined them all in the end.

Thoughts on "12th of Never" - James Patterson & Maxine Paetro
12th of Never by James PattersonMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
As a parent, my heart broke for Boxer and Joe. There's no worse feeling than having a sick child and knowing you can't kiss away their pain.
Don't be surprised to find yourself tearing up. In all honesty, I did.
Besides Julie's medical ordeal, there were several cases being worked on. And, HOLY CRAP, I didn't see one ending the way it did. Someone we know, someone trusted by major characters, will turn out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing. Based on the ending chapter, this nutcase will be the focal point in book thirteen.

Thoughts on "Dark Seduction" - Cheyenne McCray
Dark Seduction by Cheyenne McCrayMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
While I was reading this story, I kept flip flopping on which paranormal ability I would choose if given the choice. In the running were - Invisibility and Teleportation. Imagine how much time you'd save by teleporting various places. Of course, there is the hazard of literally hitting a person or thing. OUCH! And invisibility, oh the pranks I would pull.
There were a few other "gifts" mentioned in the story and I'm sure they will intrigue you as they did me.
So folks, I highly suggest picking up this story and watch how the "powers" are utilized. As you can guess, things didn't go smoothly for the "gifted" ones.

Thoughts on "Ours to Love" - Shayla Black
Ours To Love by Shayla BlackMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
When I purchased this story, I knew this was going to be about two brothers falling in love with the same woman and having sex with her. However, since I am a fan of Shayla's and I wanted to read the continuation of the series, I cracked opened the book anyways.
With that said, I can't understand how a brother can get aroused watching his sibling have sex with someone. For me to enjoy the scenes, I actually pretended they were only friends and not brothers.
What I did like about this story was the tenderness, the patience, and understanding they shown London when she unveiled her back to them. Their reaction was absolutely perfect!
One final note: If you were waiting for the conclusion of "Who killed Javier's wife and why", the wait is finally over. :)

Thoughts on "Darkness Unmasked" - Keri Arthur
Darkness Unmasked by Keri ArthurMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Only Keri could get me to love a story that involves a Jorōgumo, a spider/spirit that can change its appearance into that of a seductive woman. For a person who loathes the creepy crawler, I was cringing when her babies were literally raining down on Risa. Eeeek!
For those who wonder how powerful Hunter is, you shall witness her wrath unleashed and believe me, she's one scary chick!
Update on the search for Dia's murder: Risa will discover her mother's killer and rest assured, vengeance will be delivered.
As for the relationship of Azriel and Risa...... I look forward to see where book six takes us because the final chapters left me on edge. And that my fans is what makes for a great book and author!

Thoughts on "A Kiss of Blood" - Pamela Palmer
A Kiss of Blood by Pamela PalmerMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Imagine you were literally thisclose to entering a world of vampires and werewolves. All it would take is a sunbeam to form and you could stumble into their world. Before you think it might be cool; think again. The vampires that live there are not all like Edward Cullen (Twilight series). Think instead Russell Edgington, True Blood.
The residents of Washington, D.C. are in such a predicament. Only a handful of people are aware of Washington, V.C. aka Vamp City. Once you enter V.C., the chances you leaving it are slim to none. However, it's not impossible. This is where the good vamps come into play.
If you want a book that has action, intrigue, and sexiness.....then this will be the perfect book for you.
Be sure to check out the first book in the series, "A Blood Seduction", to see how it all began!
