My review of "Immortally Embraced" - Angie Fox

Immortally Embraced (Monster M*A*S*H, #2) Immortally Embraced by Angie Fox

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have been a huge fan of Angie every since I stumbled across her Demon Slayer series, which by the way are wicked good books. Check them out!

The second installent in the new series, sequel to "Immortally Yours", has everything Angie's fans have come to love about her writing/stories - humor, sexiness, and action. She's highly creative with her characters and plots. Example - a pregnant Medusa. Yeah, wrap your head around that one. :)

Since I'm not one for spoilers, I won't say WHO is keeping Petra company in and out of the sheets. But I will say, you will find out rather quickly and I doubt you will have seen it coming.

After reading this tale, I had only one question that was nagging at me. I have to know the answer so Angie, if you by some chance read this review, PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE HECK IS A REVERSE ZEUS! The mention of that sexual position had me laughing hard and envisioning things that would make some people blush.

My review of "Heart of Darkness" - Lauren Dane

Heart of Darkness (Bound by Magick, #1) Heart of Darkness by Lauren Dane

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After hearing about Lauren's tale-weaving skills for some time now, I decided to give the author's creations a look. I selected the Bound By Magick series because I'm a fan of paranormal romance novels. This story certainly didn't lack in the romance department. Meriel and Dominic couldn't keep their hands off one another. But besides their physical attraction, they connected mentally and magically too which made them a perfect match.

My only complaint about the story - at times I felt like certain sections were rushed. Example, the showdown with Dom's mom. I expected a surprise or two thrown at us, but it never happened. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't written poorly at all. I was simply waiting for the "Holy Hell" moment.

My review - Conflagration by D.R. Racey

Conflagration Conflagration by D.R. Racey

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As I read this story, the first thing that popped into my head was the "Lord of the Rings" triology. No readers, that is not a bad thing at all. I personally loved that series as millions of others.

I found D.R. Racey to be an extremely talented artist. I say artist because he painted a mental image of each beast, character, and setting flawlessly which isn't an easy task. I highly recommend reading Conflagration and look forward to reading your thoughts on it as well.

My thoughts on "Private Berlin" - James Patterson and Mark Sullivan

Private Berlin (Other Private Offices) Private Berlin by James Patterson

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The latest in the Private Novels had not one, but three mysteries weaved together to keep the readers engaged. Two of the cases investigated by the Private team were not that hard to figure out. Maybe it's too many hours of watching crime shows such as Criminal Minds that made figuring out the conclusions relatively easy.

On the other hand, the case of Private agent Chris kept me more on my toes. My heart broke for Mattie when she found Chris' body covered by rats and again at the funeral during her eulogy. (His death is not a spoiler due to the fact his body is discovered very early on.)

For the horrors the mothers and their children endured at the hand of Falk is unimaginable. He was a vile creature. However from our history books, we know that many monsters exited in the world back then and still do today. That, in itself, is a scary thought.

Review of Cheyenne McCray's Contribution

Real Men Last All Night (includes Lexi Steele, #1.5 and Wounded Warriors, #1) Real Men Last All Night by Lori Foster

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cheyenne hooked me from page one with the ice cream scene. As I was reading it, I had a hankering to make a trip to the local ice cream parlor. The restaurant sexcapade was funny and sexy. I like how C.M. stated the bathroom was clean. It would have to be squeaky clean for me to get busy in one. :)

The rest of the short story was just as hot and didn't lack in funny moments. There was a brief encounter with some bad guys but that was quickly wrapped up and the story ended on a funny/sweet moment.

Review on The First Sin - Cheyenne McCray

The First Sin (Lexi Steele, #1) The First Sin by Cheyenne McCray

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The emotional and physical torment Steele, Kristen, and the numerous unnamed ladies of the story went through was heartbreaking. I couldn't imagine being in their predicament for a solitary minute. Unfortunately, human trafficking/sex slave rings are not a thing of fiction even though this story was one.

Internally, I was screaming and clapping when Steele got her revenge on Cabot. Cheered louder when Kristin got the upper hand on the Professor. I wish all ladies and gents in their position were so lucky.

"Secret Sins" Review

Secret Sins (The Callahan's, #3) Secret Sins by Lora Leigh

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Whether you crack open a LL book or read it on your e-reader, there are certain things fans are accustomed to find in her stories - sexy and sexual characters, twists and turns in the plots, and oodles of intense love scenes. Once again, LL did not disappoint. Without giving away spoilers, I will say we find out more into the reasoning behind the Slasher targeting the Callahan cousins, their loved ones, and any one who's been sexual involved with them.

Is this the end of the Slasher? Well, I can't very well tell you that. You'll just have to read it and see for yourself.

"Cowboy Heat" Review

Cowboy Heat (Hell Yeah!) Cowboy Heat by Sable Hunter

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I wondered how to start this review and then it came to me, I would speak about the quirky catchphrases Libby uses throughout the story. Example: Cheez-n-Crackers. My first impression was "Who speaks like this in real life?" Then after I yelled out "Hot Dog" to my husband, I realize I do. As for using words like "winkie", it may not be sexy or romantic but it wasn't supposed to be used in that context. I found myself laughing and again when Aron yelled back "He did not have a winkie." Sable did a marvelous job in showing the playfulness and sexiness between these two people.

I want to give high marks to Sable for painting a wonderful picture of Tebow Ranch. Her descriptions of the McCoy men were top notch too. It was easy to step into the pages and feel like you were right there with them.

This story had many emotional highs and lows. Your heart will most definitely ache for several characters. Just you wait!

"Hot on Her Trail (Hell Yeah!, #2) Review

Hot on Her Trail (Hell Yeah!, #2) Hot on Her Trail by Sable Hunter

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jacob, a man with a heart of gold and a rock hard body, was so damn likable. He was sweet and loving to everyone, so how could Jessie not fall head over heels in love with him.

Jessie, she's had a rough go in life. Her childhood was not a dream and her adult life was no breeze either. I'm glad she found her knight and life could finally turn around for her.

As for the plot, I read the story and my first thought was...."I hope sperm banks aren't really this disorganized. That's some crazy, messed up crap." As for the idea behind the story, I thought it was fresh. I don't recall ever reading a plot anything close to this one. Good job, Sable.
