I found this on the net and I just can't help posting it here. These cute illustrations were done by Amu Meguro, the mangaka of Honey. Have fun looking at them. ;)

I Lied
Now, I can officially say that I'm really done with my first trilogy. Since last Monday, the third book was approved and all. When I wrote the first book, I didn't really mean it to be a trilogy. But I just thought that the other characters were wasted so I thought, why not make it a trilogy? If I remember it correctly, I started writing the first book last March. Then I wrote the second book last June. And the third one last August.
Out of all the three, pinakanadalian akong isulat yung second book. The hero was just this playful guy who loves to flirt with the heroine. And the heroine was this girl who's always prim and proper. Out of all the three pairs, I love their interactions the most. It's very natural, 'yon bang tipong hindi pilit. Kaya siguro mabilis ko lang silang natapos. The first book was just okay I guess. Pinabasa ko siya sa dalawa kong co-writers before ko siyang ipasa sa PHR and they both loved it. Mahal na mahal nila yung hero ko do'n. But for me, it was really hard to write him. Sobra niya kasing bait. Pero yung pinakanahirapan talaga ako was the third book.
Gawd. I hate my characters on that book. As in. Sobrang nahirapan akong isulat sila that it took me more than two months para lang matapos ko sila. The hero was a first class asshole and the heroine was a grade A bitch. Most of the time they just bicker and fight and bicker some more.
I finished it with 43K + words. But then it was approved. Buong akala ko kasi talaga it was enough to be considered as 2books. It took me two weeks bago ko nadagdagan ng tatlong chapters yung story. Grabe. Ang sakit lang sa ulo. Inalis ko na kasi yung utak ko sa state of mind ko nung sinusulat ko siya. And honestly, ayoko na talagang bumalik do'n sa state of mind na 'yon.
And last Monday, nag-text sa 'kin yung editor ko telling me that okay na yung mga dinagdag kong chapters. Thank God for that. Even though I hated my characters there, excited pa rin naman ako na ma-release siya. And hopefully, magustuhan siya ng mga tao. :)

Insecurity Attacks
I'm not really insecure by nature. In fact, I have a lot of self-confidence. That's why I don't do things that I know I'm not good at. But sometimes, really sometimes, insecurity just strikes. Either on my personal life or my writing career, it just find me unaware.
There are just so many why's. Lalo na sa buhay-manunulat ko. Dumadating din ako do'n sa punto na tinatanong ko ang sarili ko kung bakit ko pa ba ginagawa 'to. I've been a published writer for two years now pero may mga pagkakataon na hindi ko mapigilang maramdaman na parang nando'n pa rin ako sa simula. Na wala pa ring nangyayaring pagbabago. It's just really sad whenever I reached that point of thinking. So whenever that happens, I always, always, take a minute of silence and think of the other good things in my life. And somehow, everything becomes right again.
My point is, minsan talaga hindi sumusunod ang mga bagay sa gusto nating mangyari. Otherwise, life wouldn't be so much of a challenge. So why dwell on things you can't control? Just do things you want to do and live your life the way you want it to. Para sa bandang-huli, wala kang maging pagsisisi. Feeling insecure and bitter about things won't help you. It will only just bring you down. Ma-i-stress ka lang at malulungkot. Then after that, makakaramdam ka na ng inggit. Soon you will just feel angry. So do what I do. Take a minute and think of all your blessings. Trust me, it will make you feel better.
Walang lugar sa buhay natin ang insecurity. If we let it affect us, all those negativity will destroy us. Until we become that person we don't want to be. So just be positive and believe that someday, everything in your life will fall into place. :)

Approved!
I should have written this post a week ago, but I'm just too tired to type anything. So here goes. Moonflower has just been approved! Yey! Banzai! It's my very first paranormal/fantasy so I hope everything goes well and I'll receive positive feedback from the readers once it's released.
I was so ecstatic when I received the good news from my editor. I really thought that it would be for revision or worse, rejected. Medyo complicated kasi yung story and sobra pang daming characters. I was really afraid na baka malito yung editor na magbabasa dahil sobra ding dami ng mga terms na nilagay ko. And then nando'n din yung fact na hindi mga Filipino yung mga characters ko. Sobra ding dami ng English, there's even a little bit of Czech and Latin. Then there's also the fact na seventeen lang yung heroine ko. It was really hard to make some steamy scenes because the girl was still a minor. I'm just glad that I managed to pull it through. And I'm even more glad that despite all these, tingin ng aking editor eh enough na yung ginawa ko for the story.
It was supposed to be for Gothic imprint of PHR, pero dahil nga sobrang daming elements nung sinulat ko, my editor said na hindi siya totally for Gothic. So ilalagay siya under PHR singles. Gagawin siyang parang kagaya nung Veakaria. Imagined my surprise when I read that. I was like, really? LOL.
I'm just so happy that it was approved. I can't wait for it to be published. XD

Update. Update.
SENT. And I'm officially done with my very first paranormal fantasy. I finished it yesterday morning and I could never be happier. It's 57K words long and I wrote it for a month. It's twenty-three chapters long with a prologue and an epilogue.
So please, nananalangin ako at nagsusumamo, sana ma-approve ka. Wala na kong pakialam kung saan imprint ka pa mapunta as long as ma-approve ka. I just really want other people to have a chance to read this. Kaya kapag talagang ibinalik 'to sa 'kin, ipaglalaban ko talaga 'to.
This MS has the most numbers of characters I've ever written. Mas madami pa sa Assassins and that says a lot. I've mentioned at least 20 characters in this story. Ewan ko ba, they just kept on appearing and appearing. Ah basta. All I wanted right now is for this to be approved.
Next stop: Book 3 of my trilogy. :))

The Fallen
Last year during the month of January, kumuha ako ng translation sa PHR. It was The Fallen by Thomas Sniegoski. The Fallen volume 1 consists of Books 1 and 2 in the series. One of the editors only gave me the 1st book so I thought na 'yon lang ang kailangan kong i-translate. I managed to finish it by March last year and I think June na nung na-approve siya talaga. Madami kasing ipinabago sa 'kin yung editor. Some of the words kasi were translated literally. And I really had trouble with some idiomatic expressions. Then after it was approved na nga, nalaman ko na I was supposed to translate the second book too.
So ayun, hindi ko siya kaagad naasikaso. I was just able to translate bits and pieces of it last year. But during the summer vacation of this year, pinagtuunan ko na talaga siya ng pansin. I was able to finish it last May and today I received an e-mail confirming that my translation was approved. It was really weird. Kasi wala nang ipinabago sa 'kin yung editor, not like the first one. Iniisip ko tuloy kung dahil lang ba yun sa kailangang-kailangan na nilang i-released yung book that's why it was readily approved o dahil wala lang talagang mali dun sa ginawa ko. Pero sino pa ba ako para magreklamo? Kaya nagsaya at nagdiwang na lang ako because I will finally be rid of that darn book.
Medyo obvious ba that I didn't like it? Haha! Yeah, I didn't like the book. LOL. XD

Moonflower
I'm a little sad and depress today but after hours and hours of meditation, I finally calmed myself and I let go of all the bad vibes. I won't be able to write properly if I continued to be depressed. And I can't really afford to enter some kind of "writing stupor" right now. Especially since I'm writing something majorly epic. I won't go into details on why I'm sad or depress because this post is not about that. This is about the manuscript I'm currently writing.
I'm planning to submit this manuscript in the Gothic imprint of PHR. I'm just worried that it might instead be approved in Black Ink because of its anime-ish vibe. Don't get me wrong, I will be more than happy as long as it's approved. I mean Black Ink's book covers are always amazing, but I just really want to have my own Gothic imprint.
The title of the story, as you can see in the post, is Moonflower. It will revolve around twins (yes, I know, I'm a sucker for twins), Rie and Eri. It's super different from all the stories I've written so far. Probably because it has a lot of supernatural beings in it. It has a lot of action, and blood, and magic, and oh, did I mention blood? Hahaha! I know what you're thinking, but no, my hero is not a vampire.
I already wrote chapter one over a month ago, but I didn't have the time to continue it because I still have two manuscripts to finish. So finally last week, I was able to resume writing it. And I was on a roll! I've written seven chapters in the last week which was already very productive for me. Since during my normal mode, I could only write three to four chapters a week. I was really thankful that the ideas just kept on coming and coming. I really needed that since it will be a two-book worth manuscript. I hope I can finish this by next week. *fingers-crossed*

Currently Writing...
I'm done with my part in Assassins series, I submitted Book 11 a little more than a week ago. So now, I'm currently writing the 2nd book of my trilogy. Hindi talaga part ng plano ko ang trilogy na 'to, there's this another trilogy that I've been meaning to write pero hindi ko magawa dahil walang time. But last March, this weird idea just came to me so I wrote it. Dapat independent novel lang siya pero nasayangan ako do'n sa ibang mga characters so I thought, why not make it a trilogy? And now, after the first book was approved, I'm writing the 2nd book.
And while writing it, I'm also writing another story. This one is a little bit complicated, but the plot was already there, the conflict, I just need scenes that will fill up the story. I'm almost done with the world-building and I'm hoping that it would sail smoothly. It has some sort of dystopian-paranormal feel to it. Sana matapos ko siya before July ends. At talagang magdidiwang ako kapag na-approve ito. Haha!
This is the first time that I'm doing two stories at once. So I hope this will not end up in a disaster. *fingers-crossed*

Assassins
Finally, the long wait is over! Released na rin sa wakas ang first two books ng aming first collaboration series namin ni Miss Jelaine Albert. It's been almost a year since we started writing it and I just can't believe na finally ay nasa market na rin siya. Parang kahapon lang we've been brainstorming kung ano ang magandang gawing series and we ended up agreeing on writing a series about a soccer team.
Anyways, these are the first two books of the series.
This is a twelve book series and I'm in charge with the odd number ones. We already finished writing up to Book 10, dalawang libro na lang and we're done.
A little trivia on Devlin...So far siya ang pinakamatagal na na-approve out of all the books I've written in the series. Two months in the making bago siya na-approve.Siya ang pinakaseryoso at pinakamainitin ang ulo out of all the boys I'm in charge with. Devlin is the coach of the theam so he's the oldest. The age on the cover of the book is his age that time his story happened. The setting of the second book would be eight years later after the events on the first book happened kaya sana 'wag kayong malito.

Avengers: Age of Ultron
Last Thursday, me and my brothers watched Captain America: Winter Soldier. Aside from the fact that Chris Evans was so darn hot in his Captain America costume, the movie itself was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. And after seeing the post-ending credit of the movie, it just made me salivate for the second Avenger movie. So I did some digging and discovered that they already have a working title for the movie which, as the tile of this post tells, Avengers: Age of Ultron.
In the sequel our team of superheroes will face Ultron, an artificial intelligence with a god complex and a rage towards his own creators. He longs to take over the earth with his spawn. He will be voiced by James Spader, if you watched The Blacklist then you would know who he is. There will also be two new additions to the team, Pietro Maximoff a.k.a. Quicksilver and Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. Scarlet Witch. They are twins with superhuman powers. Quicksilver can move at superhuman speed while Scarlet Witch has telekinetic abilities and can weave spells using her mind. They will be played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen, respectively.
If you watched the post-ending credit of Captain America: Winter Soldier, then you just had the first glimpse of these two. And if you really are a hardcore Marvel fan, then you would know that these two are the kids of Magneto. Yes, that villain mutant from X-Men. But because of copyright issue, they can't mention who the father of these two is. They can't even say that they are mutants. LOL.
All the original cast members from the first movie would be back. Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Scarlett Johanson as Black Widow, and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye. Nick Fury and War Machine, played by Samuel L. Jackson and Don Cheadle, would do some cameo. Sadly we won't see Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in this movie.
Nevertheless, I'm still super excited for the second movie. *squeels* I can't wait for May of next year. It will definitely be a blast!
